I just did something that I love and isn't really a recipe, but sure is good and adds more fat to my diet and will be good on a hot day.

I pour a can of diet root beer in a tall glass and add about 1/4-1/2 c. of whole cream and it's very much like a root beer float.

Tasty!  If I'm posting this in the wrong spot, feel free to move it... ;)

Oh yeah, Pat! We made those for dessert Easter Sunday when my sis was visiting! It's wonderful! ♥ ♥ ♥

Wow....now that's something I have to try!  Thanks for sharing....

I've never been much for carbonated beverages, but I truly cannot tell any difference in diet root beer! These taste for all the world like the floats I had as a child. I guess since there's no ice cream, I shouldn't call them floats, but what then? Smoothies?  ;D

My variation is to whip the HWC and put it on top then stir slightly.  I don't drink diet soda much.  MY sub there is Club Soda with DaVinci Root Beer flavoring in it.

Now that's the way to do it! I'll try to remember it!  :D

I tried this 'root beer float' last night and it was tasty.  Haven't had anything that even resembles it for a long time.  How do you manage to keep a supply of HWC in the house?  I wish our store would sell a bigger carton of it because I am always running out and THAT is not a good thing.

The biggest carton I can find around here is quarts, and my nearest market doesn't even carry those - they have only pints & smaller. I buy two or three quarts whenever we shop the stores that carry them. I wish there were half-gallons.

Oh, yeah!  Someone (maybe you?) recommended this on another forum last year, and I tasted it and I was SO HAPPY!! :)

It is a delicious treat.  I love it during hot weather.

I do a similar version, but I use the whipped cream that comes in a can (real whipping cream of course), and I squirt a good amount into the glass and then top it with diet root beer.  I don't drink a lot of soda, but this is very refreshing now that the weather is starting to warm up.

The only real whipped cream I can get is ReddiWhip and it is chemically enhanced, darn it.  What brand do you buy that isn't?

Same here, that is why I whip my HWC fresh.  I have a hard enough time finding HWC with no additives!

One of our local dairies makes it - Clover Stornetta.  It's made from real cream, all natural, and is delicious.  Sometimes I just eat it on its own.

Oh how lucky you are!!
