148 this morning.

SKB, I'd imagine that hunting wild boar with a bow like that would take a lot of skill. Nevertheless, it is quite beautiful and something I'm sure you'll treasure. (Interesting question BigSkyGal raises; I suppose the poison gets nullified during cooking.)

My MRI yesterday was easy. As expected, it was pretty short but I managed to sleep through it anyway. I'm a "frequent flyer" down there so when I come in everybody knows me - for better or worse - so things go pretty smoothly. As its the weekend I won't be getting results until next week.

Last night I succumbed to a pressing desire for ice cream. Judging by my fasting glucose I bolused correctly and seem to have slept long and hard. While the ice cream was pretty good it wasn't as wonderful as I'd hoped; something I must remember next time.

97 this morning.

I woke at 3:00 a.m. for a bathroom break only to find my pump had ceased insulin delivery at some point.  My bg was 182 so that required a reset and a bolus.  Have no idea what made it quit, but definitely keeping an eye on it today.

The humidity is 90% here plus the threat of more rain.  Hard to take a deep breath outside.

90 this morning.  We got to 107° yesterday and the humidity is a bit high for here at 22-24% but still nice inside.  Today and tomorrow will be the hottest then it is supposed to cool down a bit.
Tamagno, glad the MRI went well, hope it helps to get to a solution to your back problem.
Barbara, glad you are feeling better and glad the washer is OK.
Interesting SKB, that is quite a piece to display.  I think it takes a lot of skill to hunt with a bow and arrow but obviously they have that skill.

113 this blue sky morning.

yesterday's high was 81°, heading into a heat wave, today's forecast is 91°/54°. Several 100+° days mid week coming up...

Fell asleep in the recliner last night, didn't wake up until a bit after 4AM. Didn't even bother to take a bedtime bg as I figured it would be too close to fasting. I slept like a rock until just a bit after 11AM. Man my system is so messed up after being sick and not sleeping an entire night...

Yeah Wally, I was so happy when all went well with the washing machine!

I have no idea, but maybe what tamagno said is true. Besides, these things have been used for 1000s of years, so definitely they know how to 'treat' the game before eating it.

While we discuss the Delta and the Delta+ variants of the virus, here's what The Times of India has to say;
QuoteHealth experts have called for strong surveillance on four emerging coronavirus variants, apart from the Delta-plus (B.1.617.2.1 or AY.1) strain, which has already been designated as a variant of concern (VOC). The variants to be watched out for includes B.1.617.3, a sibling of the Delta variant (B.1.617.2); B.1.1.318, which has 14 mutations; and Lambda (C.37), which was designated as a variant under investigation on June 23. Kappa (B.1.617.1), another sibling of the Delta variant, too needs to be closely monitored, though it has thus far been less infectious than Delta or Delta-plus.

Grammabear, sorry you're having pump problems! I'm not quite sure what you mean by resetting your pump though. Is that where you disconnect and go through the line filling again?

I'm irritated with Apple today as all of the Notes on my iPad just disappeared. They're not in the Cloud, Recently Deleted items or anywhere. Insofar as the same thing happened with my mail some months back I've decided to install an external service for my backups. I haven't quite yet sorted out how it works but I should be able to use it for back up of all my devices. I did start a thread in Apple Support to see if anyone else has had this and if its possible to restore - I'm not generally prone to this but I wish I could talk to someone responsible at Apple and give them a good talking to (that means I want to yell at them)!

Tamagno - My pump just plain stopped delivery the night before last at about 3 a.m. in the morning.  I had been sleeping and had not even touched the pump itself.  When I got up to go to the bathroom, I noticed the screen of the pump was bright instead of being dark. I investigated and found the screen where it said "all deliveries stopped".  So I probably mis-spoke myself when I said I reset it.  What I did was found the screen where it says "resume insulin" and clicked on that.  Pump did start up again, but by then my BG was 185 and going up.  It took me about 8 hours to get back into range once again.  In all my experience with a pump, including the OmniPod, I've never had a pump just "quit" without touching it.

I have also had my "notes" disappear on my iPhone about 6 months ago.  I have no idea where they went or if it can be restored.  I also was NOT happy to find that situation had happened.

85 this morning.  We got to 110° yesterday and it is supposed to be 112° today then cool down a bit for the rest of the week but still above the 100° mark.  This is normal for here but the North West in Oregon and Washington they have had temps over 100° and they are not used to it so it has a much worst effect on those people.  Most homes do not have air conditioning.
That is rather disturbing Tamagno.  I don't keep notes on my iPhone or iPad but I would be pretty upset if they just disappeared.  I do rely on my backup on iCloud working and would be pretty unhappy if it didn't.

93 this warm morning.

86° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 97°/57°.

Never heard of Notes disappearing Tamagno. That would irritate me too. I have my most important notes in the app Evernote. The only thing I used notes for was my grocery list, but in the pandemic times I just make my list on paper as I don't ever take my phone out of my pocket when I am out.

I've never lost data on any device without good reason. If it did happen it would be very frustrating and I would feel like yelling too.

Bigskygal, hope you're back to normal now.

Sweety

112 fasting reading for today.

I got fever for 2 days last week and it was really scary, but my doctor said not to worry. To test for covid after fever doesn't go for 3-4 days. But I am ok now and really relieved.

187 this morning.

Sweety, I hope your fever was gone down. Any idea what caused it?

Grammabear, my pump/CGM has occasionally done things like that. I really should go through and read the manuals thoroughly as I suspect I don't completely understand everything. Mostly, it works really well so I don't bother.

Not only have I lost notes but the same thing happened to my mail a few months ago which I had to completely rebuild. In both cases Apple offered very lame ideas for fixes and the Apple community boards didn't even respond. So, I've subscribed to a service that backs up all my devices to their cloud for I think a reasonable fee.  Its called IDrive; I chose it because of recommendations I saw on line. I haven't completely gone through all it does but I so far have it active on three of my devices. My subscription gives me 50 terabytes of space which should be plenty.  I have three more devices to add which I'll do today.  I'm hopeful...

My washer is now repaired.  The repairman came yesterday and within 30 minutes the new pump was installed and washer was put through a trial run.  It works well and today I can start getting caught up on laundry.  Funny how a basic thing like a washer becomes important when it doesn't work.

We have to make a trip to the recycle place today.  Our stuff like plastic, paper and cardboard is piling up in the garage.

We got lots of rain yesterday and at one point it came down in sheets off the roof.  Then 10 minutes later it stopped, the sun came out and you would never know it had been raining.  Strange weather.

84 this morning.  We hit 110° yesterday but it is cooling down a bit and today it is cloudy.  There is a slight chance of a sprinkle but all that does is raise the humidity.  It has been hot enough now that the water mains have absorbed the heat running under the asphalt streets and the water coming into the house is lukewarm.  It is not necessary to turn on any hot water to take a shower and that will last until late September.  Normal for the Summer here.
I don't have anything on my phone or tablet that I need to back up but I do have it back up to the iCloud.  I run a backup for my desktop computer once a week to an external hard drive because there are a lot of things there I would hate to lose.  I am not that trusting of a cloud backup.

103 this very warm morning. This heat is killing me!!

93° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 99°/55°. It is going to be hot most of the week. It is supposedly a 100 year occurrence of temps this high here.

Had a creepy experience yesterday while pumping gas. A guy about my age pulled up to the other side of the pump and started chatting to me. Then he came around and washed my front windshield! I was getting very nervous by this point. I thanked him for his kindness and he went back to his truck and left saying "Have a nice day". Never in all my years of pumping gas have I ever had anything like that happen! All sorts of scary thoughts raced through my mind...
