108 this morning.

Grammabear, you're right - last night was the first ever my Fitbit said I met my sleep goals. Due in large part to not getting up two or three times to fiddle with glucose; it's truly amazing.

Wally, we have in common that we like playing around with computers (you once said something like "until I break it") which describes me as well. Macs, however, are much, much harder to break than Windows machines, so it's possible to experiment far more without wondering if what you just did will cause a huge problem. Hope you can find one a decent Mac; maybe something that's an open box sale or refurbished.

Tamagno - I am pleased to know your fasting numbers are a more normal range.  Those lows are hard on the body in my opinion.

Wally - Its hard for me to imagine going outside in a tshirt because winter here requires layers of clothing.  But I'm glad you live where its warmer.  Do you get to grow flowers year around if you choose?

Barbara - Do you have any 'favorite' Penzey spices that you recommend?

96 this morning.  Cooler today and the wind is howling.  Started last night and will continue through today.  On the other side of the mountains power companies are turning off power to several thousand homes because of the winds and the chance of starting a fire.  This has become a regular occurrence where power lines run through forest and brush.
Grammabear, it can get pretty cold here at times and temps below freezing are common but so far this has been a pretty mild winter.  We can get snow but it is rare.  We don't really have flowers year around but we have a pretty long growing season.
Tamagno, I am looking at used MacBooks to play with and see if maybe I want to maybe get a newer one to replace my Windows laptop.  Not in a hurry but I am curious.

115 this blue sky morning.

36° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 39°/23°.

Grammabear, I don't think I have gotten a spice from Penzeys that I didn't like! Some I use a lot are: Bangkok which is a blend similar to a curry, Brady Street a cheese blend that is great on meats and veggies, Lemon Pepper, Ground Chipotle, Italian Herb Mix, and I could go on and on.

Horrible experience with Amazon yesterday! Spent 2+ hours on the computer and phone trying to get a live person. I ordered a birthday gift for one of my granddaughters and the package arrived cut open with contents gone. It shipped from an Amazon warehouse in Tracy, CA via Amazon delivery to Castro Valley, CA. It apparently never left Amazon's custody until the empty package was left on DD's porch. She was home to receive it right away. I suspect an Amazon employee took the contents.

There is no option to report a stolen package and you can't get to a live person I was so frustrated over the whole thing that I just reordered the items and am praying they arrive this time. Only good thing is we get credit twice for the order...

That's so frustrating. This is not the type of credits that we would want.

102 this morning.

BigSkyGal, it seems like that must have been stolen before it got your daughter but it seems surprising if the delivery people would accept an open box. There have been a number of devices made that are supposed to help keep packages on your porch from being stolen, but I can't imagine someone stealing an unlabeled box anyway.

Yesterday I had to find a new supplier for pump supplies since my previous one didn't take Medicare. Tandem was helpful (they usually are) in steering me to Byram which is a source for all manner of medical supplies and is a big outfit. I think they should be okay and went ahead and ordered. I'll be curious to see if I have any co-pays.

Grammabear, Penzy's has a "sweet" curry that I find especially tasty but I agree with BigSkyGal that any I've gotten there are exceptional.

Bigskygal - That is just plain sad to have a package not arrive as it should have arrived.  It has happened to me with Amazon too, and honestly it put me off from ordering from them.  But with covid and stores being someplace I don't want to go often, I went back to ordering from Amazon anyway.  I try to keep "track" of when my order is coming so I can be looking for it.  Around here people call them "Porch Pirates" but if the theft occured before it got to delivery point, there is probably no way to prove it.  Disgusting !!!

It is cold at 9 deg F here this morning.  Some areas around us got a bunch of snow, but we did not.  After a snow the temperature usually drops quite low.  Time for staying inside again.

73 this morning.  Thankfully the winds have passed and it is supposed to warm up a bit.  I see on the 10 day we might even see some rain next week.  That would be welcome.
Barbara, Amazon doesn't make it easy to talk to a live person and you have to go through a lot of click here and click there to get any help. I have had a package that the Post Office said was delivered and it wasn't.  No porch pirate, I was home and I have a camera on the porch.  I was able to get a replacement sent at no charge dealing with the computer and that package was also claimed to be delivered by the P.O. and was not.  I was able to contact someone by chat and they refunded my cost for it so it is possible just a pain.

103 this cloudy morning.

38° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 41°/27°. I hate to jinx myself, but this has been a pretty mild Winter so far.

Just heard from DD packaged arrived intact. It was a padded envelope, the original one was sliced straight across the bottom and the items removed. Delivery person might have thought it was just a small item inside and didn't notice the slice.

I ended up doing a search for Chat in the Amazon app on my phone and got my refund in the matter of a few questions answered. It is supposed to go into my account in a couple days. What a frustrating experience!

Barbara - Happy to hear your DD received the package intact this time.  For all the grief you had with that order, your bg was darned good.   `8)

145 this morning.

We had some snow yesterday, but really just a dusting. Very cold today, but no snow, I think.

I don't think I've ever had Amazon not make good on something. I'm glad your package finally arrived, BigSkyGal - always a relief to have things settled.

I spent time yesterday doing repairs on my walker - outside of a wobbling wheel I can't seem to fix, I got everything else tightened up, etc. While I shouldn't be surprised I can't say I was happy with all the junky fittings on the thing. It's not as though I take it outside or go racing around with it. I'd have thought these things would be better made. If I get a new one I'll have to do more research on it.

83 this morning.  It's going to be nice today and then we are going to start cooling down.  Next week we are going to see a good chance of rain and maybe even snow.  The temp. will be cold enough with overnight low in the low 20s.  Winter may finally be here !
Tamagno, when I broke my hip the hospital gave me a walker paid for by Medicare and it actually was not bad.  I did shop for a walker for my FIL and there are a lot to choose from with a variety of features and some good and some junk so it isn't easy to choose.

I wonder how many walkers are actually made in the U.S. and as such, is the quality better or worse than those made elsewhere?

This is the second post I made today, the first simply disappear when I hit the 'post' button.
