143 this morning.

I was able to see the radiologist's report on the MRI of my spine that appeared on the hospital's patient portal. It looks alarming but I've decided I'm too ignorant of terminologies in use to comprehend its meaning so I've decided to employ my old standby denial until I see the specialist. Denial exists for good reason...

Meanwhile we're getting a break from the heat here although it remains rainy and quite humid. High temperatures will return for the holiday weekend.

skb - Thank you kindly Sir for the link for the homemade keto bread and for the tip that Mrs skb does to her bread.  Also, thank you for the tip on setting up the iPhone.  I enjoy learning about this piece of technology I have.

Our weather is also taking a break from the heat as it is just 65 deg F this morning, however it will be in the 90s tomorrow.

85 this morning.  It is warming up with a high of 103° yesterday and it is supposed to be 108° today.  There was a high of 121° in Canada which is a record and there is a wildfire in the area also that destroyed a town.  The "heat dome" has created a lot of problems in areas not used to temps that high.  I think it is moving East now.
I have my iPhone set to do not disturb from 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM and if it rings during the day I just ignore it if I don't recognize the caller.  Answering it and hanging up lets scammers know they have a valid number and invites more calls.
Tamagno, I think it is wise to wait until you can talk to the specialist.  I have found that trying to analyze test results myself has resulted in a lot of anxiety until I saw the doctor and got a better understanding of the results.

109 this mostly clear morning.

90° was the high yesterday though the website says it was 102, I think 90 is closer to true. Thunderstorm rolled through late afternoon which dropped the temp a lot. No rain though. Today's forecast is 93°/57°, still too hot for me... It is going to be in the 90's for a while.

Yeah Tamagno, I wouldn't try to deceiver the report either, too much I don't know and all it would do is make me worry more.

I quite agree. It is best to wait for the expert opinion on this.

Grammabear, I'm glad that you enjoyed the video. I'm sure your bread will turn out to be to your liking. You can experiment a bit and tweak things to your tastes. And also, a Very Happy Birthday to you.

209 this morning. (Failed sensor during the night.)

Yesterday seemed like an endless barrage of screw-ups. My wife was paying the property tax on her car (we have property taxes on everything here) and in so doing found that mine weren't paid.  More followup on that resulted in the discovery that my car registration had lapsed in 2014 and I've been driving an unregistered car all these years! Of course, my habit is to pay these things as I get the bill and then forget about it - if I don't get a bill I don't notice (when was the last time you wondered why you hadn't gotten a car registration bill?). At least my car insurance is paid. Anyway, fixing this is going to require two trips to the DMV - one to get a temporary registration so my car can be driven to a garage to get emissions testing done and another to get the new registration. Naturally, none of this is cheap plus I've got to pay the back property taxes to the town and I can't drive my car.

All this because the DMV lost my registration the year after I bought the car; of course, I have to pay for their mistake...

I have to admit this is driving me out of my mind and I have no idea what to do with myself. One of those things I just have to keep going a step at a time until its all fixed I suppose. A pity I don't drink!

Tamagno - If the weather is agreeable, perhaps it would soothe your psyche to sit on the porch with a cup of coffee or tea and perhaps a splash of adult refreshment in that beverage.  Or if your blood glucose has gone down, I would treat myself to a wee bit of ice cream in your favorite flavor.

Yesterday was a perfect day weatherwise and my husband mowed the lawn.  We've had no rain for a long time, however last week we received about two inches and the grass grew almost overnight.  Today is supposed to return to hot and humid.

88 this morning.  It is hot and dry here as usual.  I would not mind a rainstorm. even though it would raise the humidity it would be welcome.  They have had thunderstorms to the North but it just doesn't get down this far.
Tamagno, we don't have property tax on cars here in California but we have annual car license fees that have to be paid and you get a sticker that is placed on your license plate of a different color each year.  If you are driving with an out of date sticker the police will ticket you and you will have to pay the fine plus the registration fee plus penalties so it's pretty hard to forget.  Bummer for you but it will work out.  Unfortunately the DMV making a mistake is all too common.

106 this hazy morning.

90° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 93°/57°. It's a bit cooler but not cool enough for me...

I am so fed up with the USPS!! I was watching tracking as I had a delivery scheduled for yesterday. Mid day it said package was on front porch near door. NOPE! So I thought she put it on top f the mail boxes at the road. NOPE! It was in the ditch at the head of the dirt road. This is not the first time a package has been tossed in the ditch, not even in my yard. I called the Postmaster and gave him a piece of my mind. He said he would investigate the problem and get back to me on Tuesday. I really have to figure out how to not use USPS on Amazon.

In MT you get permanent tags for a one time fee when the vehicle is 10 years old, it has been a long time since I've had to register my car!

Tamagno,
Hope your BG has stabilized by the time I write this.
All countries charge some money to vehicle owners, and call it by different names. We call it Road Tax. This fund is 'supposed to be' used for building and maintaining the road infrastructure. Mumbai, which probably has the maximum number of vehicles on the road in any city in India, has the poorest quality of roads, not just in India, but in the entire world, in my opinion.
Thankfully, some years ago, the government amended the rules, and started collecting these dues on a lifetime (of the vehicle) basis rather than annually. Otherwise, I would have ended up as a defaulter just like you, because I pay my bills only when I receive them.

113 this morning.

Bigskygal - I would be irate if my packages got thrown into the ditch.  If the postmaster does not get back to you on Tuesday, I would be calling him again and telling him the same story - until you get a resolution to the problem.  I might have been tempted to take a picture of the package laying in the ditch.  Hopefully the package was not fragile or broken.

Last night after our company returned home, we sat outside for a while enjoying the cooler evening weather.  We even roasted a marshmallow on the waning fire of the charcoal grill.  Have not done that in ages.  :)

93 this morning.  Cooler nights is relative, here with a high of 105° yesterday we had an overnight low of 86° and at 7:00 PM it was still 100° so evenings are still a bit hot.
Happy Independence Day to all in the USA.  ~bbq~
July 4th is also the day 2 years ago that we had the 6.4 earthquake here in Ridgecrest and the next day we had the 7.1 earthquake.  It was quite a wild ride for a bit.
California has their hand out every where you look for taxes.  Here it doesn't matter how old your car is you pay a yearly registration fee although it goes down as the cars value decreases.  We also pay State and Federal tax on gasoline that is supposed to go to highway maintenance but politicians always find other things to spend it on.

109 this blue sky morning.

Happy 4th of July to all in the US! I just hope to get through the night without any fires caused by fireworks nearby... People started shooting them off in the distance last night. I read on another forum that there was a shortage of fireworks this year...kind of hope that is true.

89° was the high here yesterday, today's forecast is 95°/55°. I feel like I have been living in a dark cave...I've kept all the windows covered and shades down in order to keep it somewhat bearable in the house. Then when it cools down, I open up and let it cool the house.

Grammabear, unfortunately in my package that was tossed in the ditch were 200 test strips, they sat on the hot ground for close to an hour...I don't know if they have been ruined but that just adds to my anger over this whole issue.

143 this morning.

Ran a fever all day which is why I'm so late but figured I'd touch base even though its nearly dinner time.

No July 4th festivities at our house this year. Doubtless there'll be others out here in the woods making plenty of noise. Too cold to be outside as far as I can tell.

There's one line in the New Testament regarding taxes that I wish Jesus had uttered differently, viz,"Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's." That is to say, pay your taxes...
