115 this sunny morning.

81° was the high yesterday, today is forecast to be much warmer at 97°/50°. I'm trying hard to work up some enthusiasm about going shopping today...

Missing Tamagno, hope all is OK there.

I could never live in the desert Wally. Of course all homes there must have A/C, unlike here in MT. Glad yours is working again!

Yup. Me too. Usually he is the first to post after me, which is around 3-4 pm my time. You guys come in much later, while I'm asleep.

Another 130 today.

I always worry when he doesn't post at his normal time.  Prayers going his way that all is OK.

skb I believe you are 12 and a half hours ahead if me here in MT (maybe that was the calculation for CA when I travelled to India years ago...)

143 this morning.

I couldn't remember if I'd posted yesterday or not; I slept most all day and all night but don't know why I should've been so tired except for possibly my DMV adventure but that didn't seem all that bad.

Still rainy and cold here with no break in sight. Seeing some sun and clear skies when I wake up I think would help a lot.

Rainy and cloudy here and 66 deg F.  The high will be around 70 deg F.

It is fun to watch puppies play together.  The joy they get from running around is life without a care in the world. :)

99 this morning.  Wow, rainy and cold !  I wouldn't mind that at all right now.  Hot and dry here.  All of the West is under a heat wave and it won't cool down for a couple more days. I'm good with temps under 110° but 117° yesterday and the same today is really too hot to go outside.  Without A/C I would probably have to go to Walmart for the day !
All homes here do have cooling of some type.  Many have swamp coolers which work just fine when the humidity is low and the temp is not too high.  The best they can do is about a 30° drop from the outside temp so when it goes above 110° it starts to get hotter inside but still better than nothing.  We have both and the majority of the time we run the swamp cooler because it is working fine and is less costly but on days like this we fire up the refrigeration unit. With that we can keep it around 75° inside even id it gets to 120° outside.
Glad you are OK Tamagno.  Maybe you just needed the extra rest.

98 this hazy morning.

85° was the high here yesterday, I'm thinking the forecast temps are for the big town North of me,it is generally warmer than here. Forecast says 93°/52°.

Glad you are OK Tamagno, always worry when one of us doesn't check in. Always wise to listen to what our body is telling us. Wish we'd have some rain here!!

Must go out today, but really don't want to...

Yes, I believe that is correct. I checked now and your time is 8:54 pm while it is 8:24 am here.

Tamagno

126 this morning - snap, SKB!

Another busy morning, this time to the oncologist. I got a letter from her saying she's moving to Arizona so this will be my last visit with her. While I'm sure Yale-New Haven will have an outstanding replacement, I've known my present one long enough to have a good relationship and know that she's seen me through some pretty rough patches and I can completely trust her.

People are moving far too often; I think its time for people to find a congenial place, move there, get a good job and then never move again. It could be so much easier...

101 this morning.

Tamagno - I agree with your thoughts about people moving far too often.  The best doctor I had moved from the Midwest to Florida to retire.  I miss him and his witty comments.

I also miss my grand puppies this morning.  Far too quiet without watching them play together.  I guess its back to the old routine now.

96 this morning.  We hit 117° again yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today then start to cool down a bit each day this week.  Cooler will be welcome.  I have to go to the dentist this morning for a cleaning and then a bit of shopping then right back home.
I have had doctors move before but I have been fortunate in finding a replacement.  Sometimes for the better.  People are going to move for a variety of reasons.

My new camera security system is up and working.  It was pretty easy to switch from my old system as there was no need to run new cables, they both used the same cat6 cables so it was just switch the camera and plug in to the new NVR.  Setup was quite easy as most of the things I had to do on the old system was automatic with this one and it just worked. The picture from these cameras is really nicer and shows more detail.

Snap Grammabear! 101 here too this smoky morning. Air quality is bad due to the smoke. The fires are in Canada, nothing really near to me but a reminder we are into fire season here...

I really need to go out today, feeling much better so hopefully I can... I don't know if maybe the stress is what is making me sick.

I moved here from CA in 2004, I look around now and no way could I ever move again...I just don't have the energy for it any more.

I agree. And, as Barbara says, this is something to be accomplished (if at all) when you are young. Once you're in your 50s moving is not something one should undertake but then, such is life.

Forgot to test today.

Tamagno

194 this morning.

As I suspected, my oncologist is not finding her move to Arizona particularly easy nor in any way cheap. Hopefully, its a good opportunity for her which should be the case.

Unfortunately, I weighed under 100 lbs. yesterday which makes me officially "cancer cachexic." If I were a 17-year old girl I'd be called anorexic, but the other term is in play for me.  I again refused a feeding tube (in every way a nightmare) but I know she'll be talking to my GP, etc. Good grief, I suppose next will be some sort of intervention at which I'll be encouraged to eat a burger, fries and a milk shake.  Obviously a cabal including Big Pharma and Big Food if you ask me.

What is apparently impossible to communicate is that I cannot physically overeat.  One bite too far and it just comes back out - I no longer have the muscle that keeps food in. Apologies for being crude but that's the reality and what keeps me from eating more.

Oh well - just another weird development in a life that's been abundantly strange. Thanks for indulging my small self justification and rant!

123 this morning (as I indulged in a serving of mixed nuts last night which are impossible to dose insulin).

Tamagno - Would you be able to indulge in a homemade smoothie that included either almond milk or coconut milk put in a blender and also included a handful of blueberries, maybe a portion of banana and some protein powder?  My son, who lost over 50 pounds on his keto diet likes homemade smoothies for energy.  He is also quite active as he has two dogs he walks every day in addition to working 12 hours.  He made a smoothie when he visited last week, and offered me a "sample".  It was quite good.  Just a suggestion if you would desire something with protein.
