98 this hazy morning.

78° was the high yesterday, today looks to be warmer 91°/57°.

I managed to wrangle one kitty into the carrier and as I type this it is off to it's new home. Had a request for another one, but I think it will be a week at least until the remaining kitties settle back down and trust the carrier again. At least one is off to a good home.

Yeah Grammabear, that couple had no clue, they asked for barn cats but then wanted cats that they could have in the house... just doesn't work that way.

Hope you start to see improvement soon Wally.

Tamagno

130 this morning.

I'm going this morning for back steroid injections. I have high hopes.

Humid and a little cool here this morning; high temperatures by noon in the high 80s.

107 this morning.

There was a tornado on the ground yesterday about 20 miles from where we live.  No fatalities but building damage, trees down and power lines down.  We lost our power for about 6 hours so we became quite uncomfortable in the house, and you couldn't go outside because of the storms.  It is forecast for more of the same today.

Tamagno - Good Luck with the steroid injections.  I truly hope you get some much needed relief.  Watch your blood sugars as they might climb high.

87 this morning.  It was overcast all day yesterday but not a drop of rain.  Today will be nice and sunny.
Tamagno, hope you get relief from the steroid.  I have had very little change in my bg with steroid injections in my knees but everyone is different so like Grammabear said keep an eye on your levels.

120 this hazy morning. Don't know where that came from but it is what it is.

86° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 92°/55°. It is still a bit hazy but mostly sunny.

I hope the steroid shots work for you Tamagno, and as Grammabear said do watch your b g. I have had them in my hands and had no problems with bg but as Wally said, we are all different.

I did something the other day that I swore I wouldn't on another forum I participate in. I signed up for Hungry Root food delivery service. The first time I looked into them they didn't deliver in my area as most other meal services don't. I saw on the Neighborhood app that they now deliver here. Lots of packaging, I'll have to decide if it is worth it. First delivery on the 18th.

Need to go out today to go to PO and get more cat food.

Quote from: Grammabear on August 11, 2021, 09:29:38 AMBarbara - It is probably a good thing that the people who wanted 'barn cats' didn't get your kitties.  It doesn't sound like they know much about animals.  The 'visitor' to your area is beautiful.  Do you get many deer to your yard?

Kathy, I'm sorry I didn't reply to this when you posted, I meant to but forgot. Yes, I have lots of deer around here. They usually come for the birdseed I put out but now with all the kitties, no more seed. But since I have let my yard go into a jungle, there are all sorts of native seeds/weeds around that they seem to like.

Speaking of the kitties a person on the Neighborhood app asked if I wanted to give her the rest of the kittens as she just rescued some from a kill shelter in Utah I think she said. She charges $75/per kitten fixed and vaccinated. No offer to me to share the $$...don't think so, I'd rather keep them and fix/vax them myself.

Tamagno

187 this morning.

I got a total of ten injections yesterday and pain where he did that is virtually gone! Last night toward bed time there were a few twinges perhaps just fatigue but otherwise good. I think you're right, Grammabear, that my glucose is running high but I can make adjustments there.

Not an entirely pleasant procedure but well worth it if this lasts a while. Makes me realize I need to get some exercise in the hope of regaining some torso strength. Actually, its great just to think of exercise as a possibility.

Tamagno - I am pleased for you to have some relief from your back pain.  Please forgive my question, but how did the doctor know which 'places' to give the injections?  Maybe now that you have had the injections, your sleep will be better too.  You're right about adjusting for the blood glucose increase.  Best wishes for continued pain free living.

Yesterday I woke with yet another UTI and called the doctor's office twice.  I made a lab appointment to donate a urine sample.  I was assured that someone would call me with test results and a 'plan of action'.  Sadly, no one called and I still have the infection with no relief from that pain.

Our weather has cooled off somewhat and it is more comfortable outside.

80 this morning.  It is going to get hotter this weekend but next week it should cool down about 10°.
Glad that the injections helped Tamagno.  I don't know how they compare to the injections I had for my knees but mine lasted about 6 months before needing a second dose.  The last time I had injections for my knee it was a newer version and I have not needed another dose since and it has been a couple of years.
Sorry about the UTI Grammabear, it is never fun to deal with.

92 this smoky morning. Didn't go out yesterday so went out earlier this morning. It is smoke in the air. I guess there are some semi local fires burning. At the grocery store there was a map of the fire areas but there were 2 guys sitting at a table selling fishing lures that were smoking like chimneys and I couldn't bear to get close enough to look at the map even with a mask on. Speaking of masks, I was the only person in the grocery/pharmacy/PO that had a mask on!! I guess everyone else is "back to normal". Not sure I ever will be...

85° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 93°/54°.

Tamagno, glad to hear you have finally gotten some relief. Hopefully it will last for a good long time!

Tamagno, like everyone else, I'm glad to hear of your relief from the pain. True, you can deal with the higher BG later. And hope these are long lasting like Wally says.

I am at 105 today. Limping back to normalcy, shall we say.

Grammabear

107 this morning.

Barbara - I have noticed a lot of folks being without a mask too, but my husband and I also wear the mask when we go to the grocery store and other places.  Most doctor offices in this area require a mask when you visit their clinic.  Also, entirely unrelated, but could you give a summary of the new food delivery service after you've tried it please?

The medicine I received for the UTI is a combination medication one part of which is a sulfa drug.  For me that makes my joints ache a lot.  I guess that is better than the side effects of the UTI.

225 this morning...

... but no back pain so far today.

Gosh, its so overcast and cool here that when I thought it was 6am it really was 8am.

Hopefully, the weather is more promising as we have lunch guests and will want to be outside. (This must be the ultimate good couple - both vaccinated, still prefer to be outside and actually are bringing and cooking the food.)
