Quote from: walkerwally1 on August 22, 2021, 10:41:56 AM84 this morning.  This is supposed to be our last day under 100° for a while but it is only going to be in the 100-105° range so pretty normal.  The fire in the local mountains is still out of control and only 5% contained so it's pretty smoky today.
Grammabear, it is an age old battle I have seen and it happens to a lot of people.  The one side says they sent a fax and the other says they never received it and you are caught in the middle.  I have fought this battle for years and it seems like it never gets any better.

Wally - How right you are and what really annoys me is that I paid for the Rx and do not have it.  I can prove I paid for it because it is part of my credit card statement for this month.  What I can't prove is that I did not receive it.  And on goes the "battle"........

119 this morning.

An unpleasant and largely sleepless night - all it takes is a simple upset stomach and it causes an absurdly dramatic response. If I could vomit, something like this would pass quickly. Regrettably, I can't and it'll take a couple of days to get back on top of things.

Personally, I don't think that the miseries of aging are necessarily preferable to "the alternative." (Depending upon how certain you are about what happens when you die, of course.)

Can you imagine, Grammabear, a world in which we "seasoned" citizens had as much energy as children? It would be genuinely weird...

SKB, the birthday you reference, was it yours? If so, wishing you a belated Happy Birthday, and if not yourself, then the same to that person!

Henri had the good grace to skip over my little patch of New England, thankfully, and all is well for now at least.

97 this partly cloudy drizzly morning.

69° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 77°/48°. It was drizzly early but now is clearing and no rain in the forecast.

So sorry you are not feeling well Tamagno, but glad to hear Henri has passed you by.

Kathy that is so frustrating! Could the pharmacy mailed the rx to you and it just hasn't arrived yet?

Barbara - If the pharmacy mailed the Rx to me, they never indicated such and they do require mailing address, email address as well as valid credit card number.  This is the third time this particular pharmacy has neglected to let me know a Rx was ready for pickup.

Whenever I have a difficult night, it is almost certain that the stomach or gut is behind it. Sometimes it can be plain over eating, other times what I ate. I suppose a good food plan controls not just  blood glucose but other things as well.

Tamagno it was not my birthday. We have a live-in housekeeper lady. It was her son's 14th birthday. He stays with us and goes to school here. School's have been shut since March 2020 so all his education currently is online. You know how kids are. They want cakes and all the things that go with it.

Same problem last night as the previous albeit somewhat less. Since my Fitbit says I slept just 38 minutes last night, I think tonight I might as well stay awake and monitor myself to see if I can figure out whats wrong.

I wonder, SKB, why children don't take to things like the calculus as readily as they do cakes and birthday parties?

90 this morning.  Weather here is about the same day to day, hot and dry.  We are still in the midst of a pretty severe drought and wildfires are pretty bad.  In 2019 and 2020 we had 7 inches of rain by April, usually nothing after that, and this year we had 0.42 inches.  I really hope this winter is better.
My internet was out this morning from when I got up to just now.  I got my problem here fixed and now the whole system has gone out 4 times since, usually for several hours.  I think it is due to old equipment and the company not willing to spend the money to upgrade.  Unfortunately there is no alternative here but if T-Mobile internet or Starlink ever get available here I would probably switch.
Tamagno, sorry you are having such a problem.  Hope you find a solution.

87 this hazy/smoky morning.

71° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 72°/45° no rain in forecast.

Tamagno, I'm so sorry you are having problems. I had hoped you'd be in a much better place after your shots.

Kathy, is there another pharmacy you could use? This one sounds dreadful! I get my rx's in the mail. The ones that need immediate filling I get at my local pharmacy which has always been very reliable. I hope you get your rx soon.

Tamagno - Is there any chance you might 'rest' better in a comfortable recliner chair in place of your bed?  I might be tempted to try it if you aren't able to get comfortable in a bed.  Maybe try whatever makes you tired - like reading, a cup of tea with 'adult' refreshment dropped in it?

Barbara - It has been almost a week since I had the procedure.  I decided today that I maybe can get along without the antibiotic that was prescribed but never filled.  The Dr office and the pharmacy nearly "fell all over themselves" this morning trying to cover their backsides.  The next time I need an antibiotic, I will definitely get it filled locally where I can talk to an actual person.  The pharmacy I use currently is located 25 miles from my house and I chose them because of their pricing.  But I am having second thoughts about my decision and I have to think some more about that choice.

I have been sleeping poorly as well. Last night I was awake for a long time between 2-5 am. After that I caught up again and therefore was pretty late in waking up. I forgot to check my BG completely.

200 this morning.

Wally, that sort of internet problem would drive me nuts. I don't suppose you have a land line any more, but its enough to consider getting DSL. It would cost, but you could make a hot spot with your cell phone and use data minutes. Do you know if neighbors are experiencing the same outages?

BigSkyGal, these sorts of prescription problems seem to happen sometimes regardless of the pharmacy. The CVS here used to be much more personal, but not any longer. I loathe doing it, but in these circumstances I often call them a couple of times a day until the problem is resolved.

I still had some nausea last night, but once again it was less. I was up at 4am, but it took me a few hours to get myself out of bed, dressed and get breakfast made. I'm more than willing to sleep in a chair, but if I'm already nauseated I can't get out of bed until it passes. Sure wish I could figure out the cause of this!

95 this morning.  Another morning with the internet down from when I got up at 5:30 AM until now an 9:00 Am.  If I don't post by my usual time you can assume that it is because of connection problems.
Tamagno, the outages are occurring over an area covering 200-300 customers.  I don't know what the problem is but it is becoming a real pain.  The equipment is old and the system was installed over 25 years ago and Mediacom bought it about 10 years ago and it seems they don't want to spend any money replacing the old stuff.  When it works it is quite good and I get high speeds and have never come close to using the monthly allotment I have and can stream a lot.  I know people that have DSL and I don't consider it an option.  Besides the fact that it is slow it also has problems with outages.  The phone company, Frontier, has fiber in the newer developments but they are not going to run fiber in the older neighborhoods.  Right now there is not a good alternative, I had satellite when on the mountain and that is expensive and quite restrictive.  If we ever got access to Starlink or the T-Mobile 5G internet I would probably switch but for now I am kind of stuck.
I do hope you can get some relief from the problems you are having.  I am lucky that I do get a pretty good nights sleep but I can really tell if I don't.
