tamagno's absence is always a worry. I hope he is not having pain.

skb - Is fresh food delivery a common thing in India?  Do you have large grocery stores available too?

Oh yes, very much so. As far as vegetables and foodstuff are concerned, they are mostly sold by roadside vends or corner store type of establishments. They are all on WhatsApp and GooglePay or PayTM and the like. Home delivery is no problem.

Big Brands grocery/food stores are either stand alone or part of Malls. Some of them are really huge, large enough to tire you in a single shopping trip.

Well after my recent bad experiences, tomorrow I am going to the larger grocery store in town. I have been craving rotisserie chicken and sushi both are only available there. I have a couple of sauces from Hungryroot that will be good with them.

Kitties are eating me out of house and home so need to get more cat food too.

skb - How very interesting about roadside vends and corner stores.  Smaller towns in the area where I live also have roadside vends, but only during the summer months.  People who have gardens and grow vegetables, will set up vegetable stands called "Farmer's Markets" and sell the produce from their gardens.  It is somewhat regulated but a really good resource for fresh vegetables if you do not have a garden at home.  It is limited to summer because that is our growing season.

bigskygal - Those kitties are the equivalent of 'teenagers' whose appetites are immense.  I wish you good luck shopping at the big grocery store.

83 this morning.  Hot today then cooling down for the rest of the week.  Internet is OK right now but a work crew is just now using my yard to get to the line where they are trying to find a problem that still exists so it may be going down again but at least they are working on it.

74° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 84°/45°.

Slept really late this morning woke kind of fuzzy headed. Not sure I am going to feel up to going out today.

Now I am officially worried about Tamagno this is day 2 he has not posted.

Wally I hope the crew is able to get your internet fixed and working as it should.

skb, I remember the street vends from when I was in India years ago. All our food was provided but I did stop and buy a bunch of bananas from one for a snack.  They were delicious!

We do have farmer's market, but being in a big city these are located pretty far away and they sit only once a week. Otherwise the fruits and vegetables available everywhere are fresh, pesticides and fertilizers notwithstanding.

Tamagno is greatly missed.  I hope maybe soon he will post again.

We are getting a small break from the humidity.  Yesterday was beautiful, sunny with a slight breeze.

100 this morning.  It is going to be a bit cooler today but right around 100° which is a lot better than 110°.  I think that they have located the problem with my internet.  A worker was here yesterday and he said that it was related to shorting in the power boosters that are along the cable line and they were replacing them from a point down each way from my location.  He replaced the one here also and since then it has been just fine.  Time will tell but if it does fix it I will be a happy camper.
I do worry when we haven't heard from Tamagno for now two days.  Hope to see him post soon.

Another bloody nose this morning. I really need to get out and get cat food. I hope it stops soon.

Yes, Kathy, the kittens are like ravenous teenagers! I have a total of 5 ferals at this point. I managed to find a home for one of the kittens.It was a challenge to catch it! The rest won't come near me. Only mama and old boy will come close to me.

Keeping Tamagno in my thoughts and prayers that all is well with him.

Day 3 of tamagno's absence. Yes we all pray for him to be free of pain and his well being.

India went a notch up in the vaccination program. Yesterday we administered 12,800,000+ jabs. The report further said that 23%+ Indians have been fully vaccinated. The magic figure some say is 50%. Let's hope we get there soon and see some return to normalcy.

There were 8 new cases of Covid in our county yesterday.  The statistics seem to be on the rise especially during the month of August.

The Northeast part of the U.S. is getting hammered from the remnants of Hurricane Ida.  I truly hope Tamagno is safe.

85 this morning.  We got under 100° yesterday with a high of 99° and should be about the same today. 
Wild fires are still a big problem with one of the largest threatening Lake Tahoe on the California/Nevada border.  A big recreational area and many homes and businesses are in it's path.  The fire in the local mountains is still ongoing and is about 40% contained and we are getting smoke from it each day.
Yeah, not a good sign that Tamagno hasn't posted for this long but hope to hear from him soon. 
California has reached 70% vaccination rate so that is a good thing but other states are much lower.  The resistance to getting vaccinated is unfortunate.

72° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 73°/37°.

I hadn't thought about the storm, but maybe Tamagno is just without power and has no way to get online. I'm going to hold on to that thought.

50% of the state is fully vaccinated, my county has 49% fully vaccinated.  I'm still not but maybe herd immunity will cover me. We have had a small uptick in new cases. My county has been running 3-5 new cases a day, yesterday we had 19 new cases. So that is a bit scary.
