137 this morning - no idea where that came from.

I woke at about 1 a.m. this morning and my cgm said I was at 60 and should eat carbs.  So I had a slice of plain toast with a little butter.  Guess I overdid it on the butter because my fasting was lousy today.  PLUS - I checked my blood glucose after I ate the toast and it was 100....should have checked it before I ate.  Aargh......

I knew about John's beautiful voice long ago when I read reference to the operas he loved.

104 this morning.  The weather guys keep changing their story so now instead of cooling down Wednesday it is supposed to be 110°.  I guess Fall is not around the corner here yet.
We are a small group and get to become quite close so all will miss John and can't help being affected by his passing.  It is sad but it comes to all of us eventually.

109 this sad hazy morning.

I will miss John as much as I still miss Shanny. My only comfort is that he is no longer in any pain and safe in the Lord's protection. I picture him having long discussions with Shanny in heaven and him singing with the Angels.

Shyam - Thank you for sharing the news of John's passing.  We all are so very sad to be without our friend.  It is not often that someone saves your life, but last year when I ran out of insulin - John sent me a vial "overnight" without cost save the postage.  He didn't want me to tell anyone then, but now - I can't help but share his generosity with you all.

Yes, Shyam thanks for sharing the sad news.

Kathy that is a wonderful story about John giving you insulin. He had a big heart and I am glad he was able to help you.

Quote from: bigskygal on September 05, 2021, 04:36:18 AMI think we should repost this on the forum page as an info post the info is very good for all diabetics.

Do you mean a new thread or the Front Page. You see, I can embed the video link in a post, so that it starts playing 'within' the post when someone clicks it. That, may not be possible on the Front Page blocks.

Well said Wally. The member count, which gets smaller and smaller is an issue of concern. We should start a discussion on that, but maybe later.

Hope they are having fun. John did pass away quickly and surely that was a good thing as he was relieved of all the pain he was going through. Laura's email ID is on the Private thread, if anyone wants to write to her.

That was so nice of him. A true friend indeed.

109 this sunny morning.

Our forecast today is for sunny skies with a high of 82 deg F.  Seems like it should be a happy day, but I have to work on that.

One small thing I am grateful for is that my toe is finally showing sign of healing and is not as sore as it was before the procedure.

88 this morning. It is warming up as predicted and supposed to get to 108° today and be over 100° for the rest of the week.
Today is the Labor Day holiday for the USA and is the last holiday of the Summer and usually signals the coming of Fall but it will be a while here before it is Fall like.
Glad your toe is healing Grammabear. That can be a hard thing to deal with.

102 this partly cloudy morning.

75° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 82°/46°. It is quiet here for a holiday but I'll take it. Not much in the mood to celebrate...

skb, yues, I guess I meant on the Front Page but if that is problematic, a thread would work I suppose.

Grammabear, glad your toe is on the mend.

I don't think there's a Block that will take video. Let me give it a try.

I have put it up on top in the Front Page. One would still need to click on the Play button to see the video. We keep it there for a week or so.

109 this partly cloudy morning.

Our weather is currently 72 deg F and forecast to be 84/59 deg.  These temperatures are my favorite weather.  We even got to sit outside on the porch yesterday evening for a while until the mosquitoes came calling.

Wally - How do you tolerate such high temperatures in your area?  Do you find yourself reluctant to do things like grocery shopping when it is so warm?

84 this morning.  Heading to 108° today and tomorrow but then it may start to cool down a bit.
Grammabear, I think it is something you learn to deal with.  I do things early in the morning before it gets too hot and try to stay inside when it gets to the hottest part of the day.  I also think you tend to get acclimatized to the heat just as I wonder how people in cold areas deal with the freezing temps but we do adjust.
