Grammabear

108 this morning.

Wally you had quite a surprise visitor.  We have a swing set in our backyard from when our boys were little.  We use it to hang the bird feeder from.  One day we looked out our kitchen window and here is Mr. Hawk sitting facing the house looking in the window (or it appeared to be looking in the window).  We watched it watching us - its' head swivels at some amazing angles.  All of a sudden it came right at the house only to dive bomb toward the foundation.  Immediately it flew off with a 'critter' in its' talons.  So, now Mr. Hawk is welcome any time he cares to dine on critters.

Barbara - I like Fall too.  The colors are beautiful and the change in temperatures are always welcome.

Snap Grammabear, 108 for me this morning also.  Well, today is the Autumnal equinox that marks the official first day of Fall but here it is going to be in the mid 90s for a while yet so not too Fall like but I don't really mind.
Yesterday I updated my phone and my iPad to the new IOS 15 and I don't notice any difference on my phone the iPad has some new features that show up on the first page that are going to take some research to figure out how to use them.  On the top it has a clock, calendar, a picture from my photos and a weather display.  I don't know how to change the picture and the weather wigit shows weather for Cupertino so that has to be changeable.  Other than that everything seems to work the same.

124 this mostly sunny morning. Don't know where that came from, but there it is...

65° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 75°/44°.

First day of Fall, things have been turning color here for a couple of weeks. I do like this time of year!

Quote from: walkerwally1 on September 21, 2021, 10:38:47 AMI did have a surprise yesterday. We have a shrub outside the kitchen window that is trimmed square with a flat top that is right at height of the window and I went into the kitchen and there was a Hawk sitting on the bush looking in the window.  He looked right at me and didn't seem to be disturbed at all then finally flew away.  Another time I wish I had my phone with me.

As long as the window is shut, they can perceive the movement inside but do not feel threatened. If you open the window they will fly away. We once had a Barn Owl sit on the window AC box outside for almost 2 hours. He finally flew away when the light was switched on.

I had trouble logging in to the forum in the morning. When I checked, I found all of my other sites also down. They probably had server issues.

96 this cold morning.  (70/45)

It is 52 degrees this morning.  What a 'surprise' to have temperature drop that low so quickly.  Wally - We could use some of CA heat...:)

Now..I think I better be finding our warmer clothes and putting them in the closet.

83 this morning.  Grammabear, I would gladly swap some of our heat for some rain.  It looks like we will be around the mid 90s for at least a couple of weeks.
Apparently they were successful is keeping the Giant Sequoia trees from damage from the fire that was threatening them.  We are still getting smoke and ash from the fires in the nearby mountains.

A surprising 140 this partly cloudy morning. Don't know where that came from other than I'm feeling a little rough this morning and shortly after I teste I had another bloody nose. Been having a lot of them lately...

70° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 72°/43. It was 39° when I got up at 8:30AM.

Putting off errands one more day, going to take it easy today.

138 for a 'surprise' this partly cloudy morning.  79/45

Barbara - I use a product called "Ayr" which is a nasal gel for things like a dry nose.  When it is allergy season like now, my nose tends to be dry and the ENT doctor recommended AYR which is over the counter in Walgreens or other drug stores.

84 this morning.  We are going to be in the mid 90s through the weekend then it is supposed to cool down a bit next week.  Smoke from the fires to the North was pretty bad yesterday and was bad all the way down to Los Angeles.  This morning it looks a bit better so maybe the wind direction is changing.

110 this sunny morning.

68° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 75°/44°.

Thanks for the tip Kathy! I have to go by the pharmacy today so will see if they have it there. I had 3 nose bleeds yesterday, one was small but it is getting annoying.

Fighting the fires has to be most difficult for the firefighters.  My heart is sad to know the wildfires just keep burning.  The homes and trees the fire destroys has to be massive.  :(

I haven't checked for the past few days because I know that there is a "surprise" waiting. Workwise very tied up in resolving a few issues. Once I am through with that then maybe I can be back on track.

We were talking about a Hawk outside the window a couple of days ago.
I remember I had made a short video about the Barn Owl at our house.

Awesome!

I wish years ago when I lived in the CA Sierras and a bear appeared on my front porch I had a camera to record it!! Scared the carp out of me looking eye to eye with the bear. Not sure which one of us was the most scared!!

It is 48 degrees this chilly morning.  70/45 deg forecast.

skb - your video of the Owl is truly awesome considering that Mumbai is such a busy city.  Such a magnificent animal.
