I have a metal reusable filter I use in my Mellita pour over brewer. You rinse it out and reuse. You can get paper filters but that just makes more waste. I have had mine for years, but I see on Amazon you can still get a version of the brewer and reusable filter.

ETA i was looking around and Amazon has reusable K-cup pods that you just line with filter paper and can reuse over and over with no waste save the paper.

I have one black coffee in the morning but I have no idea how it is made. I think we use a percolator.

I appreciate you all sharing your information about coffee.  Everyone of us likes something different and that is okay.  I will give Amazon a look to see what they have.  It has been a while since we received the Keurig as a gift, so I have no idea if it has reusable kcups.  I do like 2-3 cups in the morning.  :)

104 this morning.

Yesterday the transmitter for my Dexcom G6 system died, so I am without the system until the supplier decides to get busy and send the proper supplies on time.  They already sent me an email saying my shipment would be arriving within two weeks.  The 'two weeks' have come and gone and no supplies.  Soon I will be forced back to doing multiple daily injections.  Ahh...the joys of being insulin dependent and always dependent on someone else to send supplies via insurance.

78 this morning.  It is going to be a lot cooler today with a high of 72° expected and it will be cloudy all day.  At least there is no smoke here this morning.
Grammabear, it seems like you have a problem like this rather often.  The device is nice but it seems to be subject to a lot of problems.

Wally - I am glad for your area to be no smoke at least for today.  That must be a lot more pleasant.

You are right in that these types of problems happen far too often.  Tamagno told me that he too had these types of problems.  I feel I am caught between the durable medical supplier and the doctor office and each of them says they are waiting on the other to respond.  I don't know how to fix that kind of attitude on their part.

Snap Kathy! 104 here too this cloudy morning. Sorry you are having so many problems with your G6. I don't know anything about those devices,is there another brand that may be more reliable? At least you do have the option o MDI as troublesome as that may be. I hope you get your new equipment quickly.

56° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 61°/30° with a slight chance of rain.

Glad the smoke is gone Wally, I know first hand how terrible it is living with bad air.

From the scanty knowledge that we have on pumps/CGMs, I suppose that without the transmitter the pump which is still working is unable to perform because the system does not know the current BG levels and how many units to deliver ? For the time being MDIs and finger pricking is the only solution.

I think calling their Help and Support lines continuously is the only way to make them act.

107 this morning.

skb - You understand very well about how the pump/cgm systems work together to keep one's blood glucose steady.  I am not sure why the supplier seems to be having trouble requesting necessary paperwork from my doctor office.  I keep hearing the same tired excuse.  It is Covid that has caused our problems.

Our weather here yesterday and today in the morning has been extremely foggy.  Later in the day the sun comes out and burns off the fog and visibility becomes clear just before sunset.  Strange indeed.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.  :)

88 this morning.  We got to a high of 71° yesterday, one of the coolest so far since Summer but warmer today and tomorrow with highs around 80° but then a big drop Monday back to around 70°.
There was about 6 inches of snow in the Sierras at the higher altitudes and rain in the local mountains which is a good thing.  Nothing got down here though.  The fire in the Sequoia National Park is still only 11% contained and there have been several of the giant Sequoia trees destroyed but the trees in the more famous area of the park have been saved so far.
Grammabear, it has been a problem since I started taking prescription drugs that if there is a delay each side blames the other.  I decided long ago to just get on the phone to the doctors office and put the onus on them to resolve it.  I will call repeatedly if necessary to get it resolved.  Sometimes it doesn't pay to be nice.  I don't mean that I get angry, just persistent.  Often the doctors office can resolve it with a simple phone call.

Wally - What a refreshing post in regards to situations like I am dealing with currently.  I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I get really frustrated when I am caught in the middle between doctor and medical supplier.  This happens with prescription drugs and my pump and cgm supplies as well.  It seems that I am always 'running' down the cause of ME not having supplies.  I like your idea and I will try putting it into place.  It is impossible to reach my doctor office by phone, but they do have an online portal where one can send messages.  Thank you so much for sharing your solution to this situation.  You would be surprised at the number of people on the Facebook Sensors for Seniors group that also have the same issues I have with suppliers/doctor offices.  :(

I'm glad you folks got snow in the mountains.  One can be hopeful the weather will change and the wildfires will slowly be diminishing or even gone.

109 this partly cloudy morning.

52° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 59°/37°.

Sorry to hear that some sequoias were lost Wally. But glad there was snow and rain which hopefully will continue and help put out the fires.

I have a sad heart tonight. When I went out this afternoon to shop, at the end of my dirt road in the middle of the paved road was a dead mama and baby raccoon. Pretty sure they are the ones that have been coming around. They didn't show up tonight at their normal time so pretty sure they are gone...  :(

At least they had a good last meal. I had cleaned out the freezer and found some freezer burned hot dogs. I nuked them, cut them up and fed it to them last evening. They scarfed them down so happy. I will miss them visiting...

73 this stormy morning.

We have noticed raccoons dead on the road several times around our area also.  I don't know if they are migrating somewhere or were just unlucky enough to get hit by a vehicle.
