79 this morning. No snow here and we have a bush, I don't know what kind, in the front of our house that is about 3 feet high and about 10 feet long across the front window that has small purple flowers and it has exploded with flowers.  The bees and humming birds are going crazy over it. Not very wintery.
Snow can be a lot of fun and people that ski or snowboard head to the mountains in droves to play in it but they can go home where it is warm after.  When I lived on the mountain we got snow a couple of times each winter and it was mostly enjoyable and pretty but it was usually only about 3-4 inches deep and only lasted a couple of days.  When it was heavy and lasted several days it became not so enjoyable. Traveling on icy mountain roads is not fun.
Tamagno, I was comparing the sound from the MacBook to the much larger Lenovo laptop I have and it really is different.  Obviously the Lenovo is much cheaper.  Just one of the things I noticed.

129 this cloudy morning. As I mentioned in the "BG at other times" thread, I opened a new vial of strips and they seem to be running high. I am expecting new strips for my other meter today. That one seems more true to the way I think it should be given what I've eaten.

Yesterday's high was 22°, today's forecast is 25°/10°. A very slight chance of snow and none for tomorrow.

Postponed my ultrasound until next Wed. I hope the weather is better then.

Shovelled the back porch off so UPS delivery can be put there. Still have a good 8" of snow everywhere. Fortunately my neighbor did a quick plow of my driveway yesterday afternoon so that is somewhat clear. Pretty sure UPS can make it. USPS wouldn't come down the road. Tracking says they'll try again.

Still at 134 but I have to get it down. Give me a couple of days  :-[

Here, we have the annual monsoons which is mostly our source of water and up north it is the snow. It's frozen moisture/water.

That used to happen to me quite a lot and I needed to double check with other meters/strips. However, the new Control-D meter is pretty accurate and so far the strips have not given me this sort of error.

A while back I opened a new vial of strips that were way off what my Dexcom CGM said my glucose number was.  Upon further examination I looked at the expiration date on the vial and it was "expired".  Since I purchased them online, the seller must have sent me something he knew was expired just to make money.  Since then I always check the expiration date.

tamango sir, what is yellow snow ?

Sweety, people with dogs know exactly what I mean by yellow snow as it marks spots where the dog has urinated.

The post office has instituted a new service called "Informed Delivery" that every day e-mails me photos of envelopes and/or packages to be delivered that day. It's a great help in deciding whether it's worth the trip to the mailbox as well as providing a means of knowing I've actually gotten the mail I should have. The service is free but you have to create an account which can be done on the USPS web site. Seems to work pretty well.

Tamagno - I never knew the post office had 'informed' delivery.  That sounds very helpful as we live in a rural area and people in our neighborhood have been victims of "porch pirates" which is people who steal packages from the porch of homes where they do not live.

84 this morning.  I did a little research yesterday after my BIL said the bush in front of the house was an herb and it is thyme.  There are many different varieties of thyme and it can get pretty big.  I always think of herbs as the small plants you can grow inside.  Never too old to learn something.  ;D
I have been getting the "informed delivery" emails for quite a while and it is not always accurate.  They do have a disclaimer that what it shows is "coming soon" so it usually is what you are going to get that day but it may be a day or two later.  It is pretty good for packages and it is nice to know when something is out for delivery.  Sometimes I get the notice a couple of hours after the mail has already been delivered.  I have learned that just because there is a picture of an envelope don't worry if it isn't there.  It usually shows up in a day or so.  Sometimes it will say you have no mail today only to have several letters show up.

98 this mostly cloudy morning.

22° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 25°/0°. When I got up at about 9:15 it was 10° outside. I have some monster icicles on the front side of my house. I should probably go out at some point and break them off.

I also need to get out pretty soon and run errands. I don't know if the PO will deliver my box today or if I will have to go there and pick it up. In my package that UPS delivered to me yesterday I had a broken jar of peppers of course they are not returnable. I went on the app to Chat and within minutes was actually chatting to a person who got me a refund less than 5 minutes and painless! In times past, I would have just eaten the loss. So glad I learned about the app!

125 today morning.

A week ago I got a letter by something our postal service calls Speed Post. I was constantly being informed by SMS of the whereabouts of the package, which included the name and number of the postman. Digitization does have benefits.

170 this morning.

Getting my mail involves a short drive, so I don't like to go out if I don't have to. As our mail often comes after 5pm, I've been trying to figure out some way of rigging an alarm to notify when mail is delivered, but for various reasons that's difficult. The informed delivery at least gives me something.

Stealing packages strikes me as an exceptionally crummy criminal enterprise insofar as the thief doesn't know what they're stealing or it's value. Makes me wonder if and to what extent The Plague has had an influence on crime...

Our really cold weather continues today with the present temperature at 3 deg F.  Too cold to walk outside except to walk down the driveway to get the mail.

129 this morning.  I tried a bit of rice with dinner last night and it shows.  It looks like some very cold and icy weather to the East.  Hope you all keep warm and safe.
Grammabear, the only problem with that device is hoe far it can transmit.  My mailbox in across the street and I looked at those but I can see my mailbox from my house so I just got a flag that pops up when the mail in delivered and it works quite well and saves me making a useless trip but you have to be able to see it.  The informed delivery is not perfect but it is helpful.  It does seem pretty good letting me know when packages are being delivered.  One of the merchants I but from uses an app from Route.com
https://route.com/
that keeps you informed about your delivery and once I downloaded it I get notifications of other deliveries also.  It is quite helpful to know when a package is out for delivery.  I haven't had any problem with "porch pirates" here but I usually get a package soon after it is delivered.
