117 this cloudy morning. Interesting, I had a 117 yesterday morning at almost the exact same time.

29° was the high yesterday it lightly snowed most of the afternoon. Today's forecast is 34°/21° with a few possible snow showers. Not as bad as other places, but I am staying hunkered down for awhile. I postponed my ultrasound again until Mar 8, hopefully the weather will be better.

Grammabear, I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but glad to hear you are better today. I knew something was wrong as you always post well before me.

139 today morning.

Had a few grapes last night. Maybe a dozen but that's enough to push me up 20 points.

Tamagno

106 this morning.

Grammabear, things like a bad transmitter right out of the box are why I try to keep a reasonable supply of extra pump/CGM supplies on hand. Dexcom's pretty good at overnighting that sort of thing, but you're still stuck until you get it. Sure am glad you got your glucose under control without having to get an IV at the ER!

I have to go for a CAT scan this morning. My oncologist is getting antsy over pleural effusions in my lungs that are getting worse, elevated liver enzymes, etc., etc. While I don't feel like anything really bad is going on, it'll be nice to get a clearer picture. The only things bothering me are that I'm having trouble swallowing again, and can't eat as much as previously.

Anyway, it's much too cold to be going out much today but I think no snow until the weekend.

skb - Grapes are one of my most favorite fruits outside of berries.  I like the red seedless grapes the most but they aren't friendly to my glucose either so I can only have a few at a time.

Tamagno - With the type of Medicare and supplement insurance I have, there isn't much chance to stock pile supplies for the cgm.  Keep up the good work.  I wish you the best on your cat scan today.

102 this morning.  Boy, Texas has been hit really hard with the cold, snow and ice.  Over 4 million without electricity and several deaths.  No matter how many times people have been warned about using charcoal BBQs inside and running generators inside people still do and die from it.  People are just not prepared for this extreme.
Here it is almost Spring like so I am kind of like on the outside looking in and glad I am not there.
I like grapes and berries but I just can't eat them if I want to keep my bg reasonable so I avoid them.  I try to stay with things that treat me better.
Grammabear, you and Tamagno seem to have problems fairly often with your pump systems.  Hope you are doing much better now.

Thanks Wally, Yes sometimes there are problems with equipment and such.  I feel that is the same possibility with injections of insulin too.  Insulin is a life saving drug, but also it has draw backs that can be really challenging to the user.  I guess what I'm saying is that problems come with the territory when you use insulin.

121 this mostly cloudy morning. Don't know where that came from...but it is what it is.

38° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 34°/10°. A warming trend here...

I can get away with just a few berries or a grape or two, but not every day. I keep them in the freezer so I am not tempted to overdo.

I did not know you could freeze grapes.  Will have to try that soon.

138 today.

I'm planning a visit into the forests with some friends next week. A friend has this small rustic place deep in the woods where we had also gone last Feb. I need a small break and will spend a few days there.

Tamagno

158 this morning.

My CAT scan yesterday went okay (I'll have results next week) but most all the rest of my day was spent trying to get the provider I use for Medicare drug coverage to get their electronic funds transfer set up properly with my bank. This evidently is a problem for them as after several phone calls all they would say is that their system was down and I should try later!!?? I suspect I can fix the issue myself on their website; looks like they misnumbered my bank routing number. Good grief.

I love grapes but doubt my ability to limit my intake so I don't keep them around; there was a period of time, in fact, while living in Manhattan that I ate only grapes every day in substantial quantities - I was weaning myself off my ice cream only diet; those were then replaced by my tofu only diet. Soon after, I met my wife and my eating habits became more normal until diabetes. It causes me to indulge in imagining life as a bachelor - how I'd eat, clean, etc. We men seem often to need the civilizing influence of a good wife...

Tamagno - I am glad your CAT scan went ok and I hope the results will be good also.

For the most part, we eat better since diabetes diagnosis than we did before.  We did not eat bad, but sure did indulge in way more carbs back then than we do now.  My problem now is watching my husband consume the things I wish I could have more often.  We have a small bowl of bananas sitting on the kitchen counter.  Every once in a while I will get a "sniff" of them which sets off the 'longing'.   :D

100 this morning.  A little cooler with a low of 32° but it will warm up to the low 60s so not bad.  It looks like we will have a February with no rain and that is not so good.  I have made an effort to eat a more nutritious diet after I became serious about controlling my bg and avoiding many things I used to eat doesn't seem too much of a burden.  Sometimes it is OK to have one or two of an item but that is the rub.  Stopping at one or two is hard.

108 this mostly blue sky morning.

It got up to 41° here yesterday, today's forecast is 34°/23°.

Glad to hear your CAT scan went well Tamagno. Hope you get good results.

Well, I have attracted a raccoon to add to the menagerie. It shows up at sunset and cleans up any food left in the cat dish. Last night I caught it going under the deck where the cats go...sheesh!

Good to hear about your CAT scan going well John. Hope the results also bear good news. Careless mistakes can become nightmarish if not caught and sorted in time.
