104 this partly cloudy morning.

39° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 46°/27°.

Yeah Wally, I saw a Diabetic Nurse soon after diagnosis and got the same carpy/carby advice. It didn't take me long to find the other forum and figure out things the right way!! It is too bad the medical profession is so behind the times.

124 today.

The weather has backed off a bit here. It was pretty cool a couple of days ago. I think it is getting hotter.

Diabetic ?

76 this morning.

Sadly, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are delicious, but they are too full of carbs. What I did do last night, however was have a slice of Swiss cheese with a small amount of peanut butter which seemed to do the trick.

I find I'm inclined to over-produce foods I eat and slowly add more and more ingredients over time until it gets out of hand. Sometimes I'll "sneak in" extra carbs which I bolus for, but it's a risky habit. Once in a while I have to step back, simplify everything down to basics which is usually better tasting, easier to make and with fewer carbs - not to mention cheaper.

Don't get me started on the recommendations of "dietitians," "diabetic nurses" and the like. As we all know their advice is entirely useless and most often damaging. Regarding the deficiencies of those diets would necessitate my writing an entire book...

Weather is super foggy today-again.  I have an appointment for lab work, so I have to go to town.  Hope to make it quickly.

88 this morning.  No change in the weather here.
Yeah Tamagno, the sad thing is that people rely on the advice they get from the professional "diabetes educators" and their doctors and it is often very misleading. It took finding a forum like this for me to finally  get the information that helped me get my diabetes in control.

103 this morning.

Very cold here today with a high of only 24 predicted.

Talk of internet connection speeds got me thinking and sure enough I found an app that at least so far is speeding things up. Interestingly, it searches out DNS servers and switches me to whichever is fastest (has least traffic, etc.) and also has the benefit of behaving somewhat like a VPN maintaining privacy. I was surprised to notice a very discernible increase in download speeds as generally VPNs slow everything down. The app is called 1.1.1.1 (WARP) if anyone's interested.

107 this morning.

It is only 27deg F here and very hazy.  Visibility is poor.

Took a trip to the local Aldis store yesterday after having a boatload of blood work done.  Store was not busy and everyone wore a mask so all in all a pleasant day.

91 this morning. Weather here is the same, glad it is not as cold as some of you are seeing.  I really am not a fan of cold.
Off shortly for an ultrasound for my cardiologist before my appointment next week.  Nothing special, just a routine follow up.

Many of us here spend more than our fair share of time in doctors offices. One spin off from The Plague affair is that at least some visits can be done by phone or a video connection. I, for one, am always grateful for those as it saves so much time and gas money; no long trips and no long waits only to have five minutes with a doctor who says "everything looks all right."
