Quote from: walkerwally1 on February 24, 2021, 10:39:10 AM91 this morning.  Really warmed up with a high of 75° yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today.  Tomorrow a 10°  drop but  thankfully no wind.  I would really like to see some rain but none in sight.
Tamagno, glad that nothing new has shown up,  I remember "Marooned" and thought it was pretty good.  I do like SF and have watched a lot of SF movies.
Grammabear, My iPhone SE came with wired ear phones also but they have a lightening connector and plug in to the lightening port with no problem.  You may want to take a closer look at yours.  Bluetooth earbuds work just fine and I bought a set on Amazon, not the Apple brand, I wouldn't pay what they want for theirs, but the cheaper ones seem to work just fine and there is no wire to mess with.

Thank You Wally for sharing your tips about this SE earbuds.  I had not finished unpacking ALL of the stuff in the box.  Now, my husband can use the ear buds whenever he wants to listen to a youtube video or a weather video.  He is a happy camper.   ;D

114 this partly cloudy morning.

Yesterday's high was 40°, today's forecast is 36°/16°. About an inch of new snow overnight.

Yeah the ear buds for my iPhone 7 plug into the lightening port too but I never use them.

But at least you knew 'how' to use them Barbara.  I had absolutely NO clue.   `8)

101 this morning.

Glad you got your phone working, Grammabear; it is wonderful when we encounter someone like your sales girl who is both helpful and cheerful!

A while back when they were on sale, I bought Sony "true wireless" earbuds that are their top of the line model and have active noise cancelling. These things are astounding and produce clarity and depth of sound that can be a revelation. The noise cancelling also works and amazingly blocks even the sound of my wife's voice if she's in the same room on the phone. These also work well for making and receiving phone calls.

Yesterday's highs were in the low 50s which along with a sunny day felt positively balmy. Wonderful!

111 this morning.

I have a unique situation where ear buds are concerned.  Since I wear a 'behind-the-ear' hearing aid in my right ear there is no room for an ear bud.  And I am completely deaf in my left ear so that option is out.  However - I have some wonderful technology made by the company that also makes my hearing aid (convenient right?).  It is a lanyard that is "paired" to my hearing aid which sits in my ear.  When I got a new phone I have to get the Audiologist to "pair" it to that phone if I want to listen to music.  My husband, however, has age related hearing loss so he can absolutely use ear buds.  We both are grateful for technology that gives us a choice.

The weather is a balmy 40 deg F today and sunny.  I am hoping it helps to melt some of this snow we have accumulated.

Barbara - Does your driveway become "difficult" in the Spring when Winter snow melts?  Ours used to do that and it was hard going in and out of driveway.

86 this morning.  The wind howled all night but it is calm now and supposed to be light today.  A bit cooler with a drop of 10° from yesterday.  Some areas are still seeing very high winds with gusts up to 80 MPH and several big rigs blown over on the interstate highways.
Grammabear, glad you got the earbuds working,  Good that you have a store for your carrier to help. I started with Verizon when I first got an iPhone and we had a local store that helped me a lot to set things up and switch to a new phone.  I changed to Consumer Cellular and my bill dropped from about $80 a month to $26 a month but there are no stores around here but their customer service has been quite helpful if I had any questions.

116 this cloudy, breezy morning.

38° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 35°/27° with possible snow showers.

Grammabear, my driveway doesn't get too bad when the snow melts as I am the only one driving on it. The dirt road out to the highway becomes a mud suck hole because of the traffic mostly from my next door neighbor's business traffic and deliveries.

98 this morning.

We have such beautiful sunshine today and I am hoping it helps to melt the piles of snow here a little faster.  The days are getting longer and that means that soon Spring will be here and maybe time to think about the garden.

75 this morning.  A cool 28° this morning but we are supposed to get to 73° for a high today then 62° tomorrow.  It looks like that will be the trend for the next few days.  Yeah, the days are getting longer and it is light now when I get up but in two weeks we will set the clocks ahead and it will be darker in the morning but longer daylight in the evening.  I am a fan of DST all year long but waiting for legislators to do anything is just wishful thinking.
Our local hospital finally got a new supply of vaccine and I got an appointment for Tuesday to get mine.  I understand Barbara's reluctance because of allergic reaction but I have never had any allergic reaction to anything so I am going to feel better when I have the vaccine.

116 this snowing morning. It has been lightly snowing for a couple of hours. Winter is not quite through here yet I guess...

40° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 36°/23° with snow flurries. I was going to go out and run a few errands today but think I will wait until tomorrow.

Missing Tamagno, hope all is OK with him.

236 this morning.

I missed yesterday on account of side effects from the first of my Plague vaccines. I got it around 4:30pm on Thursday and was in miserable shape (mostly flu-like symptoms) until at least 24 hours later. Better still this morning, but I wasn't really expecting that much reaction. I've subsequently heard that my response is common. I still have to get the second one in a month.

However, my wife who's a shrink at the local hospital, tells me that it's 95% effective in warding off at least the really bad form of The Plague that kills people so perhaps it's worth it.

Grammabear, I don't know if it's worth it, but an outfit called Aftershokz makes headphones that work by bone induction:

140 this morning.  I have no clue where that came from either.

Tamagno - Thank you for sharing how you 'really' felt after the vaccine injection.  I have read stories about people who had no side effects and other stories about people who felt poorly.  I'm glad you're feeling better today.  Did the injection affect your bg at all?

I like the idea of the bone conduction headphones.  I have never seen them, but it sure would help me a lot.  I also think I will mention it to the audiologist when I next see her to "sync" my new phone to the hearing aids.

94 this morning.  Weather wise just another day with nothing special happening.  We will be in the mid 60s for a while and dry.
Tamagno, glad you are OK, missed you yesterday.  I have my appointment for the vaccination on Tuesday and I would not mind feeling a bit lousy after if it doesn't get too bad but I look forward to the protection.  At our age it seems pretty risky to avoid it.

35° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 32°/19°.

Glad you are OK Tamagno. Sorry you had such a bad reaction to the vaccine. Wally, I will be interested in how you deal with it, if you don't mind sharing. I still have to check with my local pharmacist re my anaphylactic reaction.
