155 this morning.

Don't know if it matters at all but I had the "Moderna" vaccine. My understanding of how easy or hard it may be to schedule the vaccine varies by state. Some states elected to manage it themselves while others like my own have left scheduling to the CDC. Apparently, the latter is likely to present more difficulties.

The "smart" doorbell I'd preordered from its manufacturer finally arrived yesterday so I may be installing it today. Of course, it has its own camera which will allow me to see, talk to and even record anyone coming to my front door. Should be interesting.

Today is so foggy that we can't see across the highway and the visibility is absolutely zero.  Glad we do not have to go anywhere.

My husband and I have signed up twice with our health care provider to get the vaccine, but never heard anything.

80 this morning.  It cooled down about 10° yesterday and it is going to warm back up for the next few days and be in the low 70s.  Really quite nice and no wind.
Here distribution of the vaccine is handled by the State and our local hospital and one pharmacy are the locations giving it.  We are dealing with a population of only about 35,000 compared to areas like Los Angeles that are dealing with millions so it is a little slower here to get the supply.  They say there are about 5000 people in the area over 65 and they received 2000 doses so I am glad to get an appointment.  The more people vaccinated the safer everyone will be.
Tamagno, I had thought of getting the doorbell but instead I got a Blink camera that focuses on the front door.  It is battery operated so easy to install nd that is part of the reason I got it.  It triggers on movement so any time someone comes to the door it records it and it is wirelessly connected to my local network and Alexa so I get a notification if it is triggered.  It is not on all of the time like the door bell so it only records when triggered but it does do what I wanted.  I have other cameras covering the front and side of the house that record continuously so this works for me.

39° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 37°/21°.

I'm still on the fence re the vaccine. Tomorrow I am going to go to the local drug store and talk to the pharmacist. They aren't giving the shots there I believe my hospital is giving them.

Wally, I got my new doorbell from Wyze which makes a lot of things at fairly ridiculously low prices, however, everything of theirs I've gotten so far work well. The doorbell was easy to install (hardwired) however I'm having some difficulty with the way the old one was installed on my siding so while the doorbell is up and running - using my original chime - I want to take it off and do a little surgery on the siding to get a better fit. If I get lazy, I could just as easily run a bead of silicon around the edges, but I'd prefer to get it right. So far, the doorbell and it's features - two-way speaker, motion sensor, night vision, etc. - are working great.

Today I have an appointment with my GP for my Medicare mandated diabetic check up.  It is kind of silly because the GP knows zero about pump, does not seem interested at all with my BG numbers and I am lucky to have the GP renew my pump supply prescription.  BUT...Medicare insists I do it, so today is the day.

You guys and your special doorbells sound interesting.  I wonder if delivery persons know the special doorbells are in place at your homes?

87 this morning.  No change in weather here but I was surprised to see 28° this morning however it will be warming up to around 65° later.
Yeah Tamagno, I think the Wyze products offer a better value, the Ring doorbells are kind of expensive.  I am glad you got it installed without any problems.  One advantage to being hardwired is that it is on all of the time.  I would had a problem getting the doorbell version installed on the stucco where the existing doorbell is so I opted for the Blink cam.  It is under the eave and points down at the front door so I can see the area very well.  It triggers on movement and has a two way speaker also.  It records to a USB dongle and also to my phone.  Like I said before we have always on security  cameras covering the front of the house but I wanted something to cover just the front porch.  I had a couple of cases where the USPS claimed they left a package at the front porch and nothing was there so I wanted to have a better way of verifying it.
Grammabear, they may recognize the doorbell, I don't know, but my camera is up under the eave and they would have to be at the front door and look up to see it so I doubt they know it is there.

You sound like me some days in trying to work up the ambition to go out and run errands.  I hope the weather by you continues to be beautiful and maybe tomorrow you will feel like going to town.

Hello,

I'm back to base camp. Pretty tired with all the walking we did across the forest trails. It was hot during the day and cold at night. Then of course eating food where and when available made in different styles also takes its toll. So, pretty bushed for now. Will take some time reading through all the posts and getting into the groove.

I'm eligible for the shots, though I'm not very sure that I need or want them. Eventually, I think every one will be coerced into taking the vaccine. Right now it's wait and watch.

Welcome back skb! Hope you had a great time and that you have some awesome photos to share!

As I have said, I am still on the fence re the vaccine.I sincerely hope it doesn't come down to being forced to take it. I have said before that I don't get flu shots either. Haven't for over 20 years and never had the flu in all that time. I just need a little more information given my anaphylaxis episode before I will risk it.

I'm a self proclaimed hermit...maybe even agoraphobic...I can double mask up and go out twice a month and be just fine... That's just me and I don't begrudge/judge anyone for getting the vaccine if they feel safe to do so.

I'm with Sweetie, SKB, please do post photos.

Grammabear, my doorbell also has a speaker so I can talk with whoever is there - could be startling for the UPS guy.

I might well have skipped the vaccine except that my wife's hospital is angling to get practitioners back into their offices seeing patients. My wife's office is tiny; not a prayer of maintaining distance there plus the odds of the hospital properly cleaning are zero. She'll be exposed basically all day and bring who knows what home, so I pretty much have to be vaccinated also.

I saw my GP yesterday and totally forgot to ask about the vaccine.  The vaccine is being given in our area, but not in an organized fashion.  People who work for a healthcare office are vaccinated but the patients are just a 'hit-n-miss' opportunities.  Will wait until I actually have the chance to get the vaccine.
