105 this morning.

Oh...I would try the breakfast in a can as my Grandmother used to have that at every 'special' occasion and everyone loved it.  I think what we had was called the "New England" brand.  Have not seen it for a very long time.

My husband had the shingles vaccine, I did not even though I have had shingles twice.  One of the inert ingredients in the vaccine is something I'm highly allergic to.  If I took it, the pharmacist told me that chances are very high I would end up totally deaf.  Shingles are definitely not fun.

Sweety - I'm sorry for the loss of your relatives.  Please try to be as safe as you can.

Snap Wally! 106 here too this partly cloudy morning.

68° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 75°/41°. Saw the first robin today and yesterday the first skunk.... not as much fun...

So sorry for your losses Sweety, I hope you can stay safe in this terrible time. You too skb!

I actually have a can of that brown bread with raisins in my pantry. We used to have it quite often when I was a child. I can't remember where I got it, either Amazon or the small local Amish grocery store. We ate it with cream cheese on top, but fried in butter sounds yummy too.

eta: was going through old Amazon orders and I did get the B&M brown bread in a can there last year.

114 today.

Sorry about the loss in your family Sweetie. I know that you are grounded as we all are. Hope things improve quickly. Mumbai lockdown is extended to 15th but I am moving a little bit as and when possible.

Quote from: Tamagno on April 29, 2021, 07:40:51 AMThis morning I'm trying out a new sort of keyboard with a radically different design with letters and numbers arranged in pentagonal shapes that has a number of advantages over the traditional QWERTY layout. It'll take a bit of practice to get used to, but so far seems promising.

I'm curious about this new design. I'm posting 2 pictures downloaded from Google. Are you using one of these ?

98 this morning.

SKB the one I'm using is a virtual keyboard on my iPad called Typewise. I've tried a couple others in the past, but this one seems substantially better. I would imagine it would be particularly useful when used with a phone and typing two-handed, but I'm liking it well enough using a stylus to keep at it a while. Previous keyboard apps I ditched very quickly. Time will tell.

These unusual keyboards seem like a good challenge for our brains.  How did you become acquainted with the idea in the first place?

The 'bread in a can' is available on Amazon and I put it on my shopping list.  It has been years since I enjoyed it.  I'm looking forward to having it once again.

86 this morning.  We are supposed to get to 100° today, first time over 100° this year but cooling down a bit through next week and should be in the high 80s to low 90s.
I haven't tried any other keyboards on mi iPad or phone, I am a one finger hunt and peck typist on either and it doesn't make much difference.  I can use my finger on the iPad but on the phone I really need to use a stylus.

75° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 75°/45°.

Ran a bit amok through Amazon last night. Ordered some Roasted Garlic Chili sauce and some egg and pea protein wraps which looked interesting. Always looking for unusual items...

133 this morning.

When I was in college I discovered that I could type accurately at over 120 wpm and so earned money working at places willing to pay by the page. I also found out that our QWERTY system came about not to enable faster typing but to overcome mechanical problems in early typewriters. As a result I've always been interested in trying keyboards more suited to our arrangement of fingers. I always wondered how early typewriters made for Mandarin and Cantonese could be possible as well. Just one of those things that's kind of interesting. The app I'm playing with now is highly customizable making it especially entertaining.

BigSkyGal, I do much the same thing and constantly add interesting sounding foods and spices to my shopping list. Some I ultimately order and some not, but its fun trying new things.

It is supposed to be 80 deg F today with high winds from 30-50 mph.  We hope to mow our grass as it is getting long and shaggy looking.

Typing on my phone is frustrating to me as I also can type 120 wpm on a regular keyboard.  Typing with one finger or stylus seems too frustrating.

93 this morning.  We came up just short of the 100° predicted high yesterday but hit 98° which is close enough.  It is supposed to be a bit cooler today but started out at 5:00  AM at 75°'
I have never been a good typist so one or two finger is normal to me.  I know a lot of people use the talk to text feature and it seems to work well but I have never tried it.

76° was the high yesterday today's forecast is 63°/45°.

Never been a particularly good typist but do know my way around the keyboard. I don't use my phone much for any typing, and same for the ipad. I use my laptop for most all of the typing I do.

I really need to get my stuff together and get my taxes to the preparer...every year I swear I will do it early and every year I am last minute...sigh...

I can type pretty fast but not in the proper way. It's more like multiple fingers rather than 1 or 2 and instinctively knowing which key is where. On the phone I do it the teenager style with both the thumbs. That is most likely the fastest way.
Now iPhones also recognize the Indian accent so dictating works pretty smoothly but I don't use it except to experiment with it.

97 this morning.

I somehow managed to have a significant hypo overnight. Well, a good excuse to eat some ice cream anyway.

Today here is sunny with highs promising to approach 80!

I rarely talk to text, but thanks to your reminders think I'll try it some more just for fun.

skb - I've watched teenagers doing texting with their thumbs and I've yet to figure out how they do it so fast.  I can type fast (or I could when I was younger) but my thumbs don't always cooperate.

Tamagno - Perhaps it is a change in seasonal weather that brought on the hypo you had.  But any excuse for ice cream is a valid one :).

We mowed lawn yesterday and it took us almost 4 hours.  Winds were very brisk at 30-40 mph and boy did I get dirty.  My husband uses the walk behind mower to do the trimming as we have tons of trees and bushes in our yard.  He was mowing under the lilac bushes when he noticed the gas cap on the mower was missing.  Uh-Oh...he retraced his steps and found what was left of the gas cap.  Now, we have to order a new gas cap on the internet.  Our lawn looks nice though.
