105 this morning.  It looks like we will be in the high 80s for the next few days with maybe a little wind thrown in.
I could never type on the phone with my thumbs and I don't know how people do it.  I would hit all the keys I didn't mean to hit.  I don't text from my phone.  If I want to communicate with someone I call and talk.  I also use email so I guess that is kind of like texting.

107 this partly cloudy morning.

65° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 55°/39° with a chance of rain.

The only time I text on my phone is when I am sharing art projects with my daughter and her kids. We have a topic of the day and then exchange photos of our work. One finger typing done there.

The election results are in and the govt of the day won't be too happy. However, it does prove that India is a vibrant democracy and that regional and central issues are very well differentiated by the voters.

The covid case load continues upwards. My daughter asked me why so many Indians require Oxygen when the same trends are not shown elsewhere even when these countries were showing high numbers. One thought is pollution, second guess high heat and humidity. What do you think ?

Yesterday was perfectly dreadful as I think I had a bout of food poisoning. So far, I seem much better today, thank God.

SKB, its my understanding that oxygen can facilitate healing in a variety of situations and is sometimes used by athletes for faster recuperation from strenuous exercise. This is the first report from India I've heard regarding its use there so I'm not sure what is going on with it. It may just have become a fad.

As regards texting, like Wally I don't do it. Email works fine for me.

I can't speak for India's weather regarding heat and humidity, but I know for my area in the months of June, July, August and sometimes September - we often have humidity in the upper 80s and 90s percentage wise.  It is harder to breathe when the humidity is high and maybe this is why people in India who get Covid require the use of oxygen.  I had an Aunt who required oxygen when she had Covid, but she was elderly also.

I do a fair amount of texting because both of my sons work different shifts.  One works the 2nd shift, the other son works the 3rd shift when he is not working a 12 hr shift.  If I didn't exchange text messages, then we would go days or even months without hearing from them.  My husband is not fond of texting, so I guess I make up for both of us.

95 this morning.  Weather here is going to be pretty consistent for the next few days and be in the high 80s.
SKB. I think that high heat and humidity may very well have an effect.  It gets hot here but our humidity in normally around 10-15% and that makes a difference.
I don't text because, well, I don't have to.  People I want to talk to all either call or we use email so I never got used to trying to type on the phone.  I know there are a lot of situations where texting makes sense and I know some people that find the talk to text the best way to do it.

Heat and humidity is what I thought too, because all of India is not polluted and the requirement of Oxygen is seen even in smaller towns and rural areas.

I have A few issues with texting. One is that I don't understand the etiquette of it in terms of when its polite to stop a given thread. The other is that it seems too easy to send bulk messages when you only intended one recipient. The big thing though, is seeing so many people filming an event they're attending while also texting friends giving minute by minute updates thereby entirely missing the actual event. When I used to perform all the time that drove me nuts!

104 this cloudy morning.

We got some badly needed rain last evening, and today it looks like more may be coming.  The fields in this area are so very dry that when watching the farmer planting their fields, it is a tractor and equipment enveloped in a huge cloud of dust.

Our lilac bushes are in full bloom now and it smells so good to walk near them.  Sadly they don't last very long and then they are gone for another year.

93 this morning.  Weather here is warm and dry.  We are predicted to be in the low 90s for the next few days at least.  Our "rainy season" starts in September and since last September we have had a grand total of 0.42 inches.  The chance of getting any more rain before next September is pretty low but sometimes we get summer storms so it can happen.

Sadly, I don't think I am going to get many if any lilac flowers this year. That snow and freeze a couple of weeks ago appears to have killed all the buds. Maybe a few came out after, but it won't be a normal year. I'll really miss them...

84 this morning.

I haven't looked at our big lilac bush as yet but am hoping it has a good year. Always a wonderful harbinger of summer.

We're having a rainy week so far so it would be nice to have some sun. Still, while its not especially warm here it also isn't cold and our rain couldn't be said to be pouring. Id think living with monsoons every year would present quite a few problems, but I suppose like the heat where Wally is you grow accustomed to it.

A question for you techies: I've taken to using a VPN on my devices. At the moment I'm using Nord which has a good reputation and doesn't seem to slow anything down, but am finding various apps that won't or can't connect to the internet while its running. Mostly its just inconvenient but I haven't enough knowledge to either devise workarounds or stop that from happening. Anybody have experience with VPNs?
