94 this morning.  It is going to cool down today and the winds started up late yesterday and are going to be going all day today and tomorrow, gusts of 30-40 MPH expected.  I really don't enjoy the wind.
Barbara, hope you feel better soon.  Sorry your shipment was such a disaster.  One thing I will give Netrition credit for is that they pack things really well.

62° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 48°/39° with possibility of snow overnight. Ugh

Tamagno, it wasn't an Amazon order, it was from Boxed.com. Grammabear, I sure did leave a bad review. Sad thing is some of the prices were much better than Amazon... but when the item is spilled all over kind of defeats the good price...

Wally I have gotten away from Netrition in favor of Amazon for our credits. Maybe it's time to revisit.

The covid situation is gradually improving here but the lockdown (local) remains in place at least until the end of this month. After that the government will have to decide what is to be done. The city is still reporting around 1000 + new cases every day.

It's cooler here today than usual and overcast.  Hopefully it'll clear up as the day goes on.

I don't think there's anything I must do today so I'm clear to go out some or just sit and nap. The more likely of the two would be napping.

We turned our A/C on for the first time yesterday.  It seems quite early for that.  We went from heating the house to cooling the house with no 'in-between' period.  During that in-between period I have always preferred to have the windows open and the fresh air coming in.

Tamagno - Napping sounds like a most excellent idea.

86 this morning.  Cooler with a high of 69° predicted for today.  The wind was howling all day today and there is a high wind warning for today but so far it is just a light breeze.  It is going to start warming back up tomorrow.
I don't have anything I have to do today either.  I got my car washed, oil changed and smogged yesterday, we have to have a smog test done every two years here in California, I don't know how it is in other states, so the car is good for a while.  I might go to the store and pick up a couple of things but that is a short trip.
Barbara, hope you continue to get to feeling better.  I don't buy a lot from Netrition but a few things I find are not easy to find elsewhere.  I probably order a couple of times a year from them.

Feeling back to normal today finally. I need to go to the grocery store and PO, but I'm going to take it easy one more day, don't want to push it.

I think what you are talking about is what is known here as PUC (Pollution Under Control). Every vehicle needs to be checked and certified every 6 months. There are road side van mounted facilities available everywhere and they do manipulate the emissions if you're over the limit. Is this the same thing ?

You should go for a better deal wherever possible. We're a self sustaining site for the past 2 years and I think we'll be able to keep being so even with lower Amazon activity.

After the cyclone, now I am hearing a lot about something called Black Fungus. It has something to do with Covid. Can anyone help me understand this thing.

According to what I have read, this is a lethal fungal infection (if uncontrolled) and the recent rise in cases is due to steroids as treatment for Covid.

In the aftermath (sort of) of The Plague I find I'm increasingly unwilling to go out at all.  Often it just seems like too much work to go out and I make do with whatever I've got rather than go out.  Not sure if I ought to be concerned about it or not.

SKB, our emissions testing varies by state.  In Connecticut you have to go to a garage that's licensed for it every two years, I believe. The rules change regularly, though, so you have to pay attention.

Sweety, most of us experience the "dawn effect" which is higher morning glucose as the body wakes up and there's a flood of hormones in play.  If I read your post correctly that is likely what you're experiencing.

As far as I know, my state doesn't have the emissions checkup requirement.  We don't have a problem with smog, but with increased vehicle traffic, it probably should be done.  I know when we take our vehicle in for an oil change, there are a multitude of things that they check it for.

We don't go out much either, mostly because of Covid.  It is just easier to order it online when we can get a fair price.
