143 this morning.

Spent yesterday trying to get the G6 update into my receiver. Annoyingly, I discovered that the T-Slim Updater wouldn't run on either of my old Macs. I could get it onto my Microsoft tablet, but it has no ports.

So, I dragged out an old Asus laptop running Windows 8 (gulp!)I had languishing in a box in the basement and fired it up. Incredibly (as it was always my most reviled bit of electronics and doing anything on it required great patience) it connected itself to my Wi-Fi, I downloaded the installer, connected it to my T-Slim and — it's working.

Have to say, after my first night with the Control-IQ software that it's great. It really does make insulin delivery predictions a half hour in advance, but whether it's adjusting bolus rates or I act on bolus suggestions, it's terrific - no highs or lows overnight. Still marveling at no finger sticks.

Going for x-rays Monday. I've no idea what to expect.

Sweety - You must be much relieved that your sister is now covid negative.  Does she feel well also?

Tamagno - I am glad you had a night with no lows or highs.  The CIQ is awesome in my opinion.

81 this morning.  Enjoying the warmer weather right now.  The 70s will last for a couple more days and then cool down a bit but still in the 60s.
Sweety, that is really good news.
Tamagno, glad the G6 is working well for you.  It must be a relief.
I have always been a Windows user and prefer the PC because I love to tinker with the hardware and build my own computers and that is not an option with Apple but I use Apple for my phone and tablet so I am thinking about getting an Apple laptop just because I would like to try the OS and see how it works. I am not going to spend over $1000 or one though so I am looking at used ones.

96 this foggy morning.

30° ended ip being the high for yesterday. Today's forecast is 37°/30°. Maybe, the fog has pretty much burned off now.

No kidding Grammabear! I have a whole cupboard full of Penzey's spices! I have to stay away until I use most of them up.

Glad you got your G6 up and running Tamagno. It sounds pretty amazing. Hope you get some answers after your x-rays.

I use an Asus with a Windows 10 but my PC is still running on Windows 7. I miss the XP though.

140 this morning.

I've had my MacBook for at least 10-15 years and it keeps plugging away - no updates, though. Buying new Apple anything is expensive but refurbished - still running up to date OS - might be good.

Whichever, it looks like ports are again an issue (saw something about a Samsung phone with no charging port, even) so I definitely will look, count and consider ports on any new computers I buy as there clearly are devices that need a port to transfer data into/out of a laptop.

Interestingly, the updates to T-Slim pumps for ControlIQ give it a new personality that's more assertive than before. Haven't quite put my finger on it, but something I can't decide how to feel about.

Tamagno - I can tell you how I feel about the recent updates to Control IQ and its 'assertive' side.  I run a 'sleep mode' 24x7 which gives me more control than the regular mode CIQ.  I usually run near 115 or under during the night.  I have only been using the CIQ since mid November, so I still have 'tweaking' to do with my basal rates, insulin to carb ratios and correction factors.  It is a process that takes time.  Most people on Facebook groups have discussed the possibility that there will be another update sometime this year giving the user more freedom in setting their own limits.  All in all, I like this pump - but there are days when I would like to give it a "good smack" against the wall.   ;D

103 this morning.  A nice 74° yesterday and should be the same today and tomorrow then Tuesday a big drop to around 58°.  Yeah, I know, that isn't cold but it is a definite change and windy too with a whopping 5% chance of rain !
I have a Lenovo laptop with Windows 10 so an Apple laptop is just something I would like to play with.  A used or refurbished would be what I am going to look for that is not too old but not too costly.  I might have to search for a while but I am not in a hurry.
They have opened the access for the Covid vaccine to those over 65 years old now in this county and our local hospital is giving it but you have to call and leave your name and number and then wait for someone to call to schedule an appointment.  I called Friday so now I will have to wait for the appointment to be scheduled.  I don't know how long that will be but I am ready to start the process.  At 78  years old and diabetic I feel it is  something well worth doing.

106 this snowy morning. It was lightly snowing when I got up but stopped around noon.

34° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 39°/28°. With the cloud cover, I'm not sure the temp is going to go much higher than the 33° it is now.

104 this morning.

A great fasting number and I didn't even touch my pump last night. Grammabear, I'm sure I'll be running into frustrations at some point, but so far ControlIQ is working great.

Wally, having resurrected my Windows 8 laptop, I'm playing with it to get it more up to date and usable. Also, with my MacBook Pro, I spent much of yesterday getting rid of unused programs and old files. If I can satisfy myself that I've got good backups, I'm going to wipe the drive and start over with a fresh install. So now, I've got two Windows laptops, one fire tablet, the MacBook, an eMac, my iPad and an iPod. These are, amazingly, talking to one another and running. Surely between the lot I'll always have something working or at least workable for whatever.

121 this morning and I have absolutely no clue where that came from.

Tamagno - I'm glad the CIQ is giving you good numbers.  It is a relief not to have bad 'lows' at night in my opinion.  It makes sleeping a lot more restful.

Barbara - Your weather sounds much like ours for the past few days.  It sure beats a 6-8 inch snowfall like they predicted for us last night.

76 this morning. Days like this I am glad I live where it is not so cold.  We had a 72° high yesterday and it should be the same today.  Tomorrow we are supposed to drop to 58° and that is the coldest for the week.  It is nice to be able to go outside in a T-shirt and be comfortable.  I am just not a fan of cold anymore.
Yeah Tamagno, I keep my windows laptop as a backup and I fire it up once in a while to get updates and make sure it is ready to go.  I am interested in the MacBook just because I am curious about the OS and would like to play with it.

108 this cloudy morning.

Another 34° for the high yesterday, today's forecast is 37°/19°.

You are right Grammabear, I'll take 30° weather over inches of snow! Wally for a Montanan, 34° is not that cold. I go out in shirt sleeves all the time to feed the birds. It is relative to what you are used to I guess.
