Tamagno

181 this morning.

Very hot here yesterday with a predicted high today of an unprecedented 91 degrees (Wally, getting into your territory).

My wife is persistent in seeing that I pursue resolution of health problems (one reason I don't mention anything unless I have to) so I've a list of calls to make Monday plus I'll be getting yet another CAT scan Monday morning.

Meanwhile, I'll be turning up the A/C today!

93 this morning.

It was also very hot here in the midwest yesterday and same is forecast for today.  A/C is running 24x7.  I miss being able to have the windows open, but very grateful for A/C.

Tamagno - I wish you the best in your quest to resolve the current health issues.  It is not fun to be feeling poorly.

86 this morning.  Yeah Tamagno, we may be getting closer.  e had a high of 104° yesterday but we will be in the 90s starting tomorrow and for the next few days.  Our humidity here is around 12% though.
Hope the tests help with a resolution for you.
Out internet went out around 8:00 AM yesterday and it was out all day until 7:30 PM.  Cause was the power company was installing new lines and the power was off for a several block area just north of here and it took out the cable for a large area.   Fortunately we didn't have any power loss but about 638 people had to deal with no power with the temp up to 104°.  Not a good day for a lot of people.

104 this partly cloudy morning.

The 80° early yesterday morning was the high for the day then temp dropped down to high 60's. Today's forecast is 64°/43° much cooler, which makes me happy.

Thanks skb!

Tamagno, I hope you can get answers and a resolution to your health issues quickly. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

In a city like Mumbai, almost all houses have ACs, at least partially, in some rooms. Even in the slums we find ACs to some degree. But I don't think anyone uses them 24x7 except maybe Hotels, Hospitals or some public buildings. Personally, if I am home, like on a Sunday, I may use it for a couple of hours during the afternoon and then throughout the night. That too during Apr-Jun. Once the rains set in, ACs are used sparingly. I think traditionally we have become accustomed to the hot weather.

155 this morning.

Nobody had A/C where I grew up and you just lived with the heat - we survived. Same thing in New York City subways until the 70s which were a nightmare during rush hours as it was also permissible to smoke.

However, I now am total wimp and like having the A/C on.

Yet another CAT scan this morning; I'm not expecting any nasty surprises.

I also grew up without AC and at most we had a window fan for the downstairs of our home.  I think as kids we didn't mind the heat so much. I would much rather enjoy cool air coming from the window, but with humidity at 85% today, that is not going to happen.

We went to Menards, a home improvement store, yesterday to buy a new portable AC.  Their shelves were absolutely bare - none to be had and they have no clue when their next shipment will come in.

89 this morning.  We got to 101° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 91° today so cooling down and should be in the 90s for the rest of the week.
I grew up in Los Angeles and we got by without any air conditioning also but the coast stays pretty nice year around.  I think you are right SKB that you tend to adjust to the climate you live in, at least to a point.  I do like the warmer temp. here but when it gets over 100° I try to keep inside.  Air conditioning inside the home and in the car are looked at as a necessity here.

117 this mostly blue sky morning.

63° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 72°/36° warming back up...

I grew up in Oakland, CA temps were pretty mild there. We didn't have AC, heck, we didn't even have a car! I have ceiling fans here in MT and I do have a wall unit AC, but the electrical is weird so I don't use it. Fortunately there aren't that many days the temps are unbearable for me.

Good luck with your test Tamagno, I hope you get some answers.

eta: OMG just saw the first kitten from under the deck! It is a gray tabby just like Fluffy. No idea how many there are...

There's some of sort of depression over the coast and as a result the sky has been overcast and it rains on and off. The temperature has indeed come down a bit. The proper monsoon has yet to hit Mumbai.

Maybe one of those kittens could just happen to wander 'inside' at your place Barbara?  You would have a little lap warmer to keep you company.

It "could" happen...we'll see what happens with neighbor's DDs. The kitties are all so sweet!!

skb - Do you get a lot of rain during the rains that are 'off and on'?  Here we are very dry almost considered a drought.  The grass is brown.

158 this morning.

CAT scan went okay yesterday; I'll get results in a couple of days - I'm not at all worried about it.

Had the best sleep last night I've had in ages, vis,  according to my Fitbit I got over an hour of REM sleep which is a lot for me.  More simply, I went to bed, fell asleep and didn't get up until daybreak. Terrific!

SKB, I saw in a news feed yesterday that India's government is getting more aggressive in treating The Plague and that the vaccine is now available to all adults. Gosh, that's a huge number of doses; I'd think that production and distribution alone would be a daunting task. Sure do hope their effort is successful.
