133 this morning.

Last night I was woke by my pump alarm that said "insulin level is low"...this means the cartridge on my pump that holds insulin was below the 'set level' and I should have gotten my body out of bed, installed a full cartridge and went back to bed.  I knew I needed to do this, but the ole' sleep bug was just too strong so I turned over and went back to sleep.  When I woke this morning my cartridge had only 4 units out of a possible 300 units.  I changed out the cartridges and made a resolve not to listen to the sleep bug.  Oh well....:)

87 this morning.  It has cooled down quite a bit with a high yesterday of 88° and it should be about the same through Friday.  Saturday we are going back to over the 100° mark.
California is supposed to be fully open, what ever that means, on June 15.  That is probably good news but there is a lot of confusion on exactly entails.  Local jurisdictions like cites and counties will still enforce their own rules and it is going to be hard to know what is required from one area to another.  Businesses will also make their own requirements so I can see a lot of confusion.

113 this partly cloudy morning.

68° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 73°/45° with a stray shower or thunderstorm possible.

Keeping you in my prayers Tamagno.

Kittens frolicing on the deck so funny to watch! Once in a while one will topple off the edge and in a few minutes make its way back up the steps. Papa kitty has been MIA for a week or more, and old guy kitty only shows up mid afternoon and eats a lot. Don't think he has any patience for the kittens...

133 today. Had some mango last night and paying for it.

Quote from: Grammabear on June 07, 2021, 11:11:07 PMskb - Do you get a lot of rain during the rains that are 'off and on'?  Here we are very dry almost considered a drought.  The grass is brown.

Yes it does rain a lot. This one is being called "pre-monsoon" but it was completely overcast this morning and it is raining.

Quote from: Tamagno on June 08, 2021, 06:10:26 AMSKB, I saw in a news feed yesterday that India's government is getting more aggressive in treating The Plague and that the vaccine is now available to all adults. Gosh, that's a huge number of doses; I'd think that production and distribution alone would be a daunting task. Sure do hope their effort is successful.

Indian numbers are always staggering, considering that every 6th person on the planet is Indian. As on date, ~ 235 million have got their jabs, which is roughly 20% of the population. If you deduct the kids below 18 that would still mean a billion people. The current daily vaccination rate is ~ just under 3 million. Phew.
From the 15th this month it is going to be open to everyone over 18 years of age.

161 this morning.

Grammabear, I can certainly relate to that problem.  The thing is, though, in the middle of the night I may well not be sufficiently aware of what I'm doing to successfully manage thee somewhat complex procedure. Sometimes I think its safer to just wait until morning like you did and then deal with the high.

BigSkyGal, I really appreciate the prayers! Thanks for including the photos - few things as cute as kittens.

SKB, I suspect its hard for westerners to appreciate the sheer size of your population although those living in places like New York City have a glimpse of it. It interests me to note how China has tried to deal with it and has found it largely an exercise in futility. Meanwhile, the west, especially in Europe experiences negative population growth. It would be fascinating if it were possible to look into the future to see how it all plays out.

116 this morning.

Our weather continues hot and humid and dry.  We have now been classified as in a drought condition.  Our grass which was green two weeks ago, is now brown.  The farmers in this area are very concerned for their corn crops and soybeans crops.  The ground is cracked it is so dry.  We need rain.

95 this morning.  It is still cooler here but we will be heading to 100° + starting next week.  The entire West is in a serious drought.  Large reservoirs are quite low and there doesn't seem to be any relief in sight.  Central California is a huge farming area and the shortage of water is having a really bad effect.
In the US most states have been able to get a pretty good percentage of the population vaccinated but some areas have been quite low and in those areas hospitalization numbers from covid are increasing.  Sadly a lot of people are reluctant to get the vaccination because of miss-information.  Here the percentage is close to 70% but there are always some that will avoid the shot just because they have been ill advised.  Some people like Barbara have a real valid reason to avoid the vaccination because of a possible problem but that is going to be a small percentage and if all else are vaccinated it will help all.

128 this mostly cloudy morning. Not sure where that came from, but it is what it is...

70° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 69°/50° with possible showers.  Only had about 6 drops of rain yesterday, will see what today brings. Having lived in CA for many years, I've lived through many draughts, none of them fun times...

Anyone who has any degree of insight into the future is a millionaire in the least. China's 1 child forced policy has brought down the growth rate but has also brought in many other social problems based on gender disparity.

It rained very heavily the whole day yesterday and the MET has issued warnings until Saturday, but today appears to be an overcast but drier day. Did not check fasting today as I had some more mango last night.

Tamagno

265 this morning (have to replace insertion set this morning).

Looks like a pretty nice day today, vis, hot but low humidity.

I'll be seeing a spine specialist this afternoon to see about getting my compression fractures fixed. Hopefully, something can be done without much difficulty.

Steaks on the grill to celebrate today, Wally?

98 this morning.

Tamagno - Best of luck with the spine specialist.  I hope they can help you feel better.

Wally - I hope you can grill out and enjoy a nice thick steak.

skb - You folks are sort of lucky to have mangos as they are delicious in my opinion.  Maybe not as blood sugar friendly, but lots of fiber and they just plain taste good.

Barbara - Thanks for sharing your "cuteness" picture.  The kittens have grown a lot already.

90 this morning.  Today looks like the last day in the 80s and tomorrow will be 96° and then we start 100° + for the rest of the month.
Yes, steaks on the grill today.  We are cooking on the grill and Traeger almost every day this time of year.
Tamagno, hope you get some good news from the specialist today.

107 this rainy morning.

65° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is  54°/41° with rain most of the day.

Tamagno, I really hope the specialist will be able to bring you relief.

Wally, enjoy your steak! Have a great day!

Yes unfriendly. I had a farm with 800 Mango trees but I had to sell it off a couple of years ago. 2 of my friends also have farms close by and they do send me some of their best organic produce which I do consume this time of the year. Maybe they will last a couple of days more. Then it's end of story for the year.

Rains have swept Mumbai. We experienced some heavy spells yesterday, but not like the day before. Traffic has also started to pile up, given that the lockdown has been relaxed further.
