159 this morning.

The back specialist wants an MRI so he can decide how best to proceed; he also prescribed a different paid med (as is often the case, some difficulty getting it filled at CVS). I didn't quite follow his explanation of what might be done, but I suppose once the MRI is done it'll be clearer.

Meanwhile I guess I'll just be waiting to get the pain meds and take it easy - a state of affairs at which I'm highly proficient...

98 this morning.

My husband has gone to the DMV three mornings in a row to try and get the driver's road test to renew his license.  Every time he goes, they say "you are too late, we've stopped doing tests today."  So....today he went to stand inline outside the building and he went 1-1/2 hours before
the DMV opens.  He is getting discouraged.

90 this morning.  We had a high of 84° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 94° today then it looks like 100° + for most of the rest of June.
I did have a steak last night but it wasn't a beef steak.  I had a swordfish steak on the BBQ and it was really good.
Tamagno, Hope that you get some good news about your back.
Grammabear, here we can make an appointment with the DMV and it really helps.  Waiting in line at the DMV is an age old problem.

110 this partly cloudy morning.

50° was the high yesterday and it rained all day. Today's forecast is 70°/34°, but no rain. The cottonwood trees are shedding and it almost looks like snow there is so much in the air.

Tamagno, hope you can get the new med quickly and after the MRI get some answers and relief. Still holding you in my thoughts and prayers.

Tamagno I hope you get your issues resolved soon.

For today, the MET has issued a Red Alert so I expect it to be a rainy day. I woke up early because of all the thundering going on since before dawn. One of the claps was particularly loud and I wonder if it did strike somewhere close.

India's Covid situation is gradually limping towards normalcy, but you can see the scale of the problem in the attached graph. Last year's peak seems so small in front of the new one.

94 fasting reading for today.

I also like Mangoes but I am keeping myself away from such things. I even did not cut a cake for my birthday as my numbers are in good range now and I don't want that to get disturbed.

158 this morning.

Grammabear, as in California our DMV started requiring appointments during The Plague - I hope they keep doing it as its much easier.

I managed to get the new pain med yesterday and its a good one albeit not an opiate - methocarbinol is the name I think. While it doesn't completely kill the pain it works fairly well. Yesterday for example I was able to make guacamole (yum!) though by the time I finished I was pretty fried. Part of the problem is that I can't breath adequately and I doubt any med would help that. At least it makes things bearable until a more comprehensive solution is found.

Last night I dreamt I was young and healthy; what a wonderful dream!

My husband 'finally' got to the DMV earlier enough although there were already 30 people in front of him waiting outside on the sidewalk in front of the building.  The lady at the desk said that the reason there are so many people waiting at this location is:  people in Chicago have to wait 2-4 hours at their DMV locations, so they drive 90 miles here to our town and wait shorter times here just to get their driver's license renewed.  It seems like an appointment would be much more efficient way of doing things as some of you have mentioned.  Anyway, he now has his license and came home to take a nap afterwards.

89 this morning.  Well, the 90s are gone and now we will be at the 100°+ high for the next several days.  The heat and the drought are going to make it a very bad year for wildfires.
California DMV started to take appointments long before covid.  The wait at most offices was hours without an appointment so it was really needed.
Tamagno, glad that you at least got some relief.

112 this partly cloudy morning.

71° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 75°/45°. I feel like I'm living in a jungle...haven't mowed this season because of scaring the kitties, but soon I am going to have to or it could become a fire hazard.

Glad to hear the medicine is working for you, hope you can get the breathing issue resolved soon.

The DMV in my little town is a tiny building with 2 or 3 employees seldom have to wait more than 1/2 hour. Of course population-wise MT is a small state.

151 this morning.

My wife has invited another couple for lunch today - the first such engagement in over a year. We still will be dining and socializing al fresco and likely with masks (well, not while eating) even though we've all been vaccinated.

It should be interesting as I've grown so accustomed to isolation - that being my natural and preferred state - that I may have forgotten my social skills. While I'm being facetious of course, it has been a long time since we've done anything like this. How very odd the world has become!

Tamagno - I agree with you, how strange the world is now compared to 'before the Plague'.  While in the grocery store earlier this week, a lady made a helpful comment about some produce I was looking at.  I enjoy hearing comments, especially about something I have yet to try.  Afterwards, it just seemed 'strange' to be friendly to someone in the store.  What have we done to our society.  Enjoy your day.

85 this morning.  It's going to be warming up this week.  We got to 100° yesterday and it is heading to 114°-115° for the rest of the week.  It looks like June has arrived.
Since I have been vaccinated and the people I know have I don't feel compelled to wear a mask around them anymore.  Tuesday the State is opening up "fully" with some restrictions still in place so there will be confusion but in most cases a mask will not be required.

93 this sunny morning.

69° was the high yesterday, unfortunately it is warming way up. Today's forecast is 86°/45° and it will be in the 90's tomorrow. Not too happy about that...

Have a nice visit Tamagno, I can imagine how strange it must feel. Yes, the world has really changed.

I will still be masking up when I go out as I am not yet vaccinated and won't be until I see my pcp next month. Tomorrow is my errand day and honestly I dread going out, but I need cat food and to go to PO to pay the few bills so I just have to buck up and go out.

We are 6 people at home, 4 of who are vaccinated and 2 are young so they still have time. There's no masking at home even though 2 staff come from outside everyday. Then at work, I don't wear a mask. I did not wear a mask even when I was not vaccinated. At work I come across 20-30 people each day, at least 5-10 new ones. Socially, life has come to a standstill but there have been interactions now and then.

I wonder if the rain has any impact on the ambient Corona virus as otherwise it does clean the air. I think that the threats are more "inside" than out, though I do wear a mask in the car as there is a law that makes it mandatory while you are out.
