Glad you found a dentist.  I have dental insurance as part of my retirement benefit but my BIL looked into getting the same policy on his own and it was over $300 a month!  Definitely not worth it at that price.  There may be better plans in your area but you have to make sure there is a dentist in your area that accepts it.
Type 2 since 1993.  Control with LCHF diet.

Yeah, I hear you on the prices! That is one reason I have been putting off going to the dentist as long as I have. I had looked at several plans much the same as your BIL and Wow! That is too much on my income. This place has some plan they are affiliated with that advertises "family friendly/low prices" what that means, I don't know. But I will ask about it today. They don't accept Medicare at all... Today's visit is going to be strictly pay now out of pocket. I'll have to see how I like them.

ETA: had to go out and check on a cat.
My DH set up his retirement insurance with no dental or optical figuring we could pay out of pocket. I didn't know at the time he had mostly false teeth, he hid that fact from me, so he figured not much dental costs. I have all my teeth and would have liked dental!!  Wish he had consulted me on those choices! Optical I can handle w/medicare's help.

135 last night.

Dentist took photos and x-rays then we discussed treatment plan. (Ouch! Lots of work needed!) Spent 2+ hours doing that, by then no time for extractions so going back today. I have put things off too long! I do have infection in several teeth some will be removed today.

I did sign up for the Dental Plan they use. $79 per year, 50% off regular things, exams, cleaning, X-rays and 25% off most other proceedures. Seems pretty good vs a huge monthly charge that may or may not be used. I'm OK with it.

89 before bed last night.

I'm sure part of that is all I had to eat all day yesterday was 1/2 c. yogurt and an organic meal drink for breakfast with plain tea. Dinner was 1/2 c. yogurt and another organic meal drink (Orgain). Soft foods today so may be off plan a bit.

171 at bedtime last night.

Exhausted most of the day. Yogurt for breakfast, zoodles with scrambled egg for lunch, and the kicker, instant mashed potatoes with a whole package of goat cheese stirred in. It was all I felt like making/eating by dinner time. Then went to bed early so didn't see the # I hoped for...oh well, probably should just have skipped the test altogether.

178 at bedtime.

Ate late as A1c test today at 2PM. Then remembered it isn't really fasting so just having an Orgain liquid meal this morning and getting by on water 'till test. The drink is 20g (grass-fed clean) protein, 11g carbs ,and no artificial sugars. I handle it better than Glucerna.

240 last night at bedtime. Besides the wonkiness I'm already having, I had 3 steroid shots yesterday. So I expect horrendous #'s for awhile.... it is what it is....
