I checked just before meals yesterday night. I was at 72  ??? Too low ?
Diabetic ?

Not at all too low. It's a very good number, and as long as it isn't dropping, it's a good level to aim for. Non-diabetic people cruise in the 70s all the time - no reason why we shouldn't too!  :)

rocky

That's a pretty good number to have. I have checked few times but always found myself in the 80s.

Same here, Rocky, and I used to test a LOT! I think I broke 80 a time or two, but even at my most strict, I hardly ever even broke into the 90s. I was carrying an across-the-board average of only 110, but it wasn't because I was getting into those lower levels - this was back in 2010. Not doing quite so well in recent years.

I remember when I went in for cataract surgery in April of 2010, the nurses commented happily that I was only 140mg/dl that morning. I was horrified . . . 'WRONG! My average is 110!'

patdart

I did it for about 5 years, but as today's A1C shows, I just seem to know how I have to eat and rarely break my rules with rare exception.  It served me well as a 'training' method.

rocky

I agree Patdart. If you are well controlled you have no reason to check and you have a pretty good idea where you are at. But just once, I would like to see a number in the 70s. That's why I do check every now and then.

Well, I checked yesterday before dinner and I was at 77. It was a bit later than my regular time. Maybe an hour late.

I took AJ's 'before dinner' BG yesterday. It was 98 and I was quite happy. I thought that the morning number would be relatively much lower than it actually turned out to be. It was 120. Gosh, I don't understand this Diabetes.

102 last night. Let's hope this keeps the morning number down.

AJ was 90 when he got home last night. One advantage that I see in taking the evening number is, that we get to see a much lower number (than morning) and it helps keep dinner eating under control. AJ doesn't then, want to screw up his morning number  ;D

After a long time I did a random check on my pre-dinner number. It was 78  ;D ;D
I checked after I returned home from the gym and had showered. I don't remember when I have last seen a 70s. Never since diagnosis.
Have I thanked you guys enough ?
