I've stopped checking my evening number for fear of running out of strips. Though pharmacies are open, online stores which are way more cheaper are not supplying. Their delivery boys are not yet permitted to be out on the roads.

Besides, my food control has been pretty good and I have a pretty good idea of my BG at any given time of the day.

I have a script for my strips that comes to my PO, renewed yearly by my pcp. Problem is I have to go out to pick them up. For my back up meter I can order from Amazon, but their weird  delivery decisions may delay delivery. Right now I am worried if it will be safe to see my pcp in June for renewal of rx. Hopefully it will be renewed regardless of office visit. Will medicare take these precautions into consideration of the 1 yr +1day between visits? This is such a tangled mess...

Since insurance doesn't pay for consumables in India, strips are something that we have to buy on our own. The whole point of buying the new Control D meter was that the strips are something like $10.00 per 100.

I am blessed because my ins from my late DH left me with an rx ins that is phenomenal...I only pay $2UD$ for any rx x 3months supply. Even so I have s backup meter when the numbers seem weird to me... I totally feel sad for those that are restricted to the number of times they can test a day.

If you're certain (and accurate to a small %age difference) then it's really not mandatory to check. In 2010-11 I would check 20+ times a day, because I was beginning to learn my body's response to various foods and workouts. Now I check only twice, just to be certain that my number is where it is supposed to be.
