In Mumbai, we don't have these numbers even in Centigrade. Currents temperatures would be around 31/17.
I have still not mustered up the courage to start testing.

104 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 55° (12.8°C) with an overnight low of 24° (-4.4°C) so still on the cool side here.  It is supposed to warm up a bit soon but probably not until the middle of next week.
It cracked me up a while back when some guy went on a rant about his 3D printer was using Centigrade to report the nozzle and bed temperature because he was in the USA and we used  Fahrenheit and he was not about to learn a new method!
Well, sucks to be him because all 3D printers and all software for 3D printers use Centigrade.  All filament whether made overseas or in the USA give you the recommended temperature for printing in C so how does he plan to deal with that?  Sometimes you just have to laugh at stupid people. ::)

102 this morning.  Well 55°/24° again yesterday but it is supposed to start warming up now but only by 1-2° each day for the next week.
I see you got an answer from Barbara.  I don't think she will be doing a lot of walking for a while but I hope she is able to come home soon.  I really hate being in the hospital but she is alone, I at least had my BIL here to help me when I came home and I really needed it.  It took a few weeks before I was able to manage on my own.

That is why I had suggested she move in with her daughter at least for the harsh winters.

Yeah, she replied to that saying she worried about the kitties she feeds every day.  I know she feels an obligation to take care of the kitties but they are not hers to begin with and they are going to keep being a burden unless she can get some animal control people to take them.  One of the problems is that none of them are spayed so the number will keep growing.

107 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 52° and overnight low was 24°, I hope they are right and it is going to start warming up!

I think the kitties must be eating a lot more than she is feeding them. Since they are out in the open they know how to fend for themselves. While she is in hospital they will feed themselves somehow. Anyways, it was just an off-the-cuff suggestion.

Any more 3D prints in the offing ?

102 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 56° with an overnight low of 32° so it is starting to warm up and should be getting close to 70° by Christmas day.  That would be nice!
No SKB, no 3D prints right now.  I am showing just how much of a kid I am trying to be.  I bought Microsoft Flight Simulator because I have always been fascinated by it and the latest version is pretty amazing.  I last had it in 1995 and didn't really put a lot of effort into it but with the advancement in computers and their ability to do so much more I am just in awe of what is in this program.  The realism is beyond anything I would have thought possible for a home computer.  There are a wide number of airplanes to chose from  starting with single engine simple trainers to multi engine jet air liners.  The instruments in the plane are all operational along with the controls and switches and all.  It is just like flying a real plane and requires going through all of the same things that you would go through to get a real plane up and flying and landing.  That is if you want that experience.  You can make it much easier if you just want to be in the air flying but doing it all just as if it was a real plane makes it a lot more interesting for me but it takes a lot of study ahead of attempting to take off.  Many of the planes have the same electronics such as GPS and the like and you can enter a flight plan and it follows it.  All of the instruments work and things like your altitude, speed compass heading are active as you fly.  You can use it with a mouse and keyboard but what fun is that? So I bought a yoke assembly control which has the steering wheel  and you push it in or out to control your elevator for up and down just like in a real plane and also the throttle and mixture controls.  These are all accessible in the cockpit of the plane in the simulator but you would have to push or pull with your mouse, not as much fun.
There are several real pilots that are using the simulator for fun and posting tutorials on YouTube and I am soaking it up.

Great. I am happy that you are having a swell time with it.

It has to be realistic if it is going to be called a Flight Simulator. Maybe someday I will follow your lead and buy one. Right now I am trying to course correct on a few work related things and don't have the time for it. Someday, yes.

104 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 59° but our overnight low was 29°.  They are predicting a high today of 61° but I don't know if we will get there.  Still it is supposed to be warming up so maybe.
Today is the winter solstice for the Northern Hemi or the December solstice as it is also called.  Now the days will start to get longer by a couple of minutes a day.
Yeah SKB it does take up a lot of time but for me that is part of the reason as being retired I look for things to keep me active that don't require a lot of physical effort as I am not able to do a lot.  That was the attraction of the 3D printer.
You are right that it has to be realistic to be called a simulator but I was familiar with the 1995 version and this is so much better I am really surprised.  It is the closest thing to actually flying a plane that I could imagine except for the flight simulators that are used by actual air lines or the military that cost many thousands of dollars.

True. 1995 was a long time ago and tech has really jumped up several notches since then.

99 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 63° with an overnight low of 34° so warming up just a bit.  Should be about the same today.  It looks like there will be a small chance of rain next week but that remains to be seen.
Yeah SKB, tech has really jumped a lot since then and it is quite apparent.  The version of Microsoft Flight Sim available now is 2020 but the latest revision is celebrating it's 40 year anniversary and it has changed a lot in 40 years.  There are other sims available like X-plane and some others but I think that the Microsoft version is the best.  One of the things that are so good is the scenery is super and uses satellite imaging to make it really accurate.  There is scenery for the entire world so you can go to countries all over the globe and pick an airport and fly and see all of the wonders offered.  Not all airports are available but many are and more are added by Microsoft and third party developers.
Hope Barbara is doing OK and is home soon and can join us.  It is not fun being in the hospital and especially on Christmas.  When I broke my hip it was on New Years Eve and the surgery was on New Years Day.

I did write to her but I doubt she has any access to her email or she would have replied.

I had a cousin from the US staying with us for the past 2 days. They have a young boy who is 6. For his entertainment we visited a neighborhood mall which has a Game Parlor for today's NextGen. I have never been there and was amazed at the Games they have today. Everything is electronic and quite a few were based on virtual reality. We could see what the kid was seeing on a big TV screen, but he was sitting on a vibrating and gyrating platform and was experiencing the scenario in a very different way. Things have changed, and rightfully so, because this is their future.

108 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 59° so a couple of degrees cooler, it's supposed to be getting warmer!  Well, maybe today it will be a bit warmer, at least that is the prediction.  The chance of rain next week is increasing so maybe we will see something.  ~wsp~
I hope we hear from Barbara soon to find out just how she is doing.  It's tough when you are in the hospital and don't have any way to communicate.  Every time I have ended up in the hospital it hasn't been in the local hospital because they didn't have any one here that could treat what I had.  Many of the specialist that are here come from out of town and usually are here only once a week for a few hours.  When you have to be transported to the ER by an ambulance you don't get to take your laptop with you and when you are in a hospital two hours away you don't get to have someone bring it to you.  At least that was my situation.  I imagine Barbare will have to be released before she will be able to communicate.
Yeah SKB, the commercial games in arcades are just amazing.  I have never tried any but I have looked inside.  The things being sold to home PC users blow my mind away.  You can spend thousands of dollars just to make game playing on a computer more realistic.  They have chairs designed to be like a cockpit in a plane or the drivers seat in a race car with movement and vibration and all kinds of things.

My son (who is 30 btw) has all of those. He's big time into gaming and is competing with people half way across the globe. Me, I'm away from that side of IT.
