83 this morning.  We got to 73° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 77° today.  We are supposed to be in the high 70s through Monday and then see a drop to the 60s.
Off in just a bit for my first PT session.  I don't know what they will do or how much help it will be but I have hopes it helps.

112 this cloudy morning. Light drizzle of rain.

46° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 45°/34° with light rain in the morning hours.

I had my bout with sciatica so many years ago, I barely remember the treatment. I am pretty sure it did include PT and to this day, I have never had another attack, so I'm thinking your PT will help a lot Wally.

Well, I did it again.  I wrote a post here this morning and somehow it did not get posted.  It is not in drafts either so I don't know what happened.
We got to 77° yesterday and headed to 79° today.  It is in the 80s in the Los Angeles area and they have a wildfire that started in the Laguna Beach area where there are many multi million homes and they evacuated a large portion of them.  It is not a forest area but mostly brush but in 1993 several homes in the area were burned down.  Thankfully the wind cooperated and the fire fighters did a brilliant job of keeping the fire away from the homes.  It seems like the fire season in California is year around now.
The PT session was really quite good and I really like the man I saw.  He has been doing this for 29 years and seems quite adept at his job.  The first session was an evaluation and he said my back is really not that bad.  He was not happy with the PT I got when I broke my hip, only 5 days with no follow up, and my biggest problem right now is with my hip.  I have a series of exercises to do each day and PT sessions twice a week for 6 weeks.  I did the first set of exercises today and they are mostly stretching the muscles.  Not too hard and take no more than 1/2 hour to complete.  I am doing better and walking a bit more each day.  I'm not going to push it too much but I do want to get as much as I can.

When I didn't see our post this morning Wally I had a feeling you had another glitch.

Glad you are happy with your therapist and hope you get back to normal quickly. Interesting he links your problem possibly back to your hip injury. 5 days does seem a short time for such an injury. I got 6 weeks of PT after my cancer surgery. The guy was a yahoo and googled the same exercises I did so nothing special. Though through my own exercises, I have full motion today.

That is unusual and that has happened with you once before. However, SMF has now released the first stable version of the software that we use. I've downloaded the upgrade but need to find some time to do it. I'll do it maybe today in the day sometime.

92 this morning.  We got to 79° yesterday and heading for the same today.  It is supposed to be around this through Monday and then Tuesday we have a front going through and a temp drop of about 20° with a 20% chance of rain but we will probably only have wind.
Yeah SKB, that happened to me once before and maybe I just didn't hit the post button before exiting but I don't think so, no big deal though.
Barbara, it is encouraging that the PT helped you.  I am hoping to see a benefit and will work at it.  I seem to be getting better each day.

An inexplicable 139 this blue sky morning.

54° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 46°/23° with a small possibility of snow flurries.

Off to the Opthalmist in about an hour for my diabetic eye check and to pick new glasses. I never got new ones last year and I know I need them now. One quick stop on the way home and then I will happily stay put.

Well, unexpectedly bad news at the Ophthalmologist today. He was taking my info and asked what my last A1c was and I told him 5.2%. Later after a bajillion tests and screenings he say "your diabetes is not that bad is it?" I said  I control it with diet and as much exercise as I can do. He kind of shrugged, said I had no signs of diabetic retinopathy, but I have a very serious cataract in my left eye. I need surgery asap! Was not expecting that! It seems to have come on fairly fast. They were doing the eye exam where you cover one eye and read the smallest line you can. Right eye seemed OK but when I switched to left eye, all I could see was a big blur. It just seemed out of the blue, I haven't noticed any problems lately.... sheesh, I don't need this right now!

I have no one to take me for the surgery and  bring me home but the hospital has a relationship with a local hotel that I can drive to and they will shuttle me to and from the hospital and I will be able to drive myself home the next day.

I am terrified about the surgery, I can't stand anything around my eyes...they will call with my appoint, I suppose next week to be done in a couple of weeks. Arrrggghhhh!

Cataract laser surgery isn't all that bad. I probably need it myself in my right eye. But handling all of that alone is something that is scary. The hotel idea seems good but it would have additional costs.

Wally I have decided to go in for an Apple Watch 7 as I need constant monitoring especially for HR, now and maybe in the future as well. I have a friend travelling from the US by end of the month. Maybe I can ask him to get it for me from there. Buying locally would mean a 60% higher price.

Fridays are all vegetarian for us. Given that, I was happy with my 116 this morning.

Fortunately the hotel is only $65 for one night. They have a refig and microwave so I will just bring enough food to get me by. The shuttle is free both ways, so all in all not very costly,

I am still afraid of the surgery, but then I remember I let them wheel me into surgery to remove both of my breasts...so how hard can this be???

86 this morning.  I guess my post from yesterday got lost.  We are about to end our heat wave.  We got to 77° yesterday and should be the same tomorrow but then it drops Tuesday and we are going to be looking at the mid 60s for the rest of the month.
SKB, I am getting to like the Apple watch more as I wear it and learn how to use it.  My Fitbit gave me some of the information that this watch does but the Apple Watch doe so much more.  I don't have the cellular model that you can make calls from without your phone but mine is the GPS model and I can make and receive phone calls as long as I am near my phone or my home wi-fi.  There are a lot of apps that you can download to the watch from Apple and also third party apps.  The watch has 32GB of storage so you have a lot of room.
Barbara, I think you saw my post yesterday but if not the cataract surgery is really quite easy.  This is not laser surgery, they will actually break up the bad lens and suck it out and the new lens is inserted folded up and  opens up when installed.  It is totally painless and you are awake during the operation.  I was able to see with my new lens right after leaving the surgery center.  I was amazed at how much of a difference it made.  Not having someone to drive you is a problem, I was lucky and my BIL took me and drove me home.  The hotel sounds like a good idea and I am sure the kitties will be OK for a day or two.

131 this blue sky morning.

45° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 48°/19°.

I am so stressed over this surgery! Usually I do all sorts of research about a surgery I am going to have, but for this one I am so terrified I can't look it up. I have a fear of anything in or around my eyes. At least I know my dr is very good and will take good care of me, but this fear is eating me up and making me eat everything I can find...which is crazy...
