Good news and not so good news from the dr Tuesday. She said she can tell I have been really following the back protocol well, wearing the brace all the time, and am healing really well. Not so good news, I am not completely healed yet and will have to wear brace another 6  weeks (with all the same back protocols) then see her again. :(

Glad I'm healing well, not so glad to have to continue wearing the brace...

109 today.  It is warming up here and is supposed to be in the high 60s this weekend but no rain in sight.  February is usually one of our wetter months so it would really help to get at least some rain.
Tomorrow is Ground Hog Day in the USA:
Groundhog Day 2023 will be celebrated at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2. That's when Punxsutawney Phil is anticipated to leave his burrow and look for his shadow for the 137th time, according to groundhog.org/.

This is when the legendary rodent comes out of his hole and predicts if there will be an early Spring or longer Winter.  I am not up on the legend but it is kind of fun.

Well I am sure you are not too happy to have to keep wearing the brace but it is a good thing that you are healing well.  I can really understand wanting to be rid of the brace but at least there is an end in sight.

I saw an article on the AARP website yesterday that explained my "mini-stroke" which is what I called it because it was not long lasting and nothing seemed to be permanent and I find that it is called that often.  It is referred to as a TIA:
transient ischemic attack, or TIA, which happens when blood flow to the brain is temporarily blocked.
Roughly 240,000 Americans a year have a TIA, sometimes called a ministroke, according to the American
 Stroke Association.
And though they can occur at any age, they're most common among adults 55 and older.

The main point of the article is that if this happens you should see a doctor to prevent a bigger stroke from happening which often occurs if nothing is done to prevent another stroke.  I just was lucky that I had an appointment with my Cardiologist a few days after and brought it up and that is why he started me on the Eliquis.

105 this slightly warmer morning.

20° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is either 38°/16° or 40°/19° depending on which site I look at. After the recent weather, I'd take either one at this point. There does appear to be a warming trend the next few days. Than goodness!

Yeah, I was really disappointed that I still have to wear the brace, but I suppose the alternative of possible back problems the rest of my life makes up for it in the long run.

100 this partly cloudy morning.

31° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 39°/13° or 40°/21° (second one would be sweet, but think first one will be closer). There is a definitely  warming trend. Don't know what the ground hog said, but I'll take either.

Yesterday, I found my meter sitting in a puddle of water, my water jug leaked. Dried it all out and it seems to be fine, but what a scare! I can't get out to get a new one at this point.

My next dr appointment is Mar 15, I sure hope to be rid of the brace then!!

94 this morning.  I don't know what happened to Feb. 2, I was sure I posted but it isn't here!  ~tnk~
Oh well, I probably wrote it and forgot to hit the post button.
The Ground Hog saw his shadow yesterday so according to legend it means six more weeks of Winter but then his record isn't that good either so maybe yes and maybe no but then everyone had fun.
Here it is warming up with a high of 64° today and 67° tomorrow and in the mid 60s for the next week.

107 this partly cloudy morning.

38° was the high yesterday. Today's forecast really varies by site, one says 40°/11° and the other says 41°/32°. Hoping for second one but probably closer to the first one. Either way we are in a warming trend...take that groundhog!!

We don't have that folklore here, but it was "cool" until a couple of days ago, and suddenly we have switched back to the Mumbai weather. In some parts of the Northern areas, it is still snowing and that is supposed to blow cooler winds this way, but then, there's always a but then.

108 this morning.  We are supposed to get to 67° today and then tomorrow a big drop to 60° with wind.  Still, 60° is not bad and then warming up all week.  Still no rain in sight here for the next 10 days.

120 this cloudy morning.

47° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is either 42°/24° or 42°/33° I like the second better but actual seems to always be closer to the first one. Chance of snow flurries this morning...

Didn't sleep well last night, tailbone was hurting. Seems some nights I sleep really well and others not so much...

That has always been the case with me for as long as I can remember. I am an ultra-light sleeper.

107 this cloudy morning.

40° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 40°/31°. Even tough those temps may be cold for some, they are just fine with me!!

Slept better last night, took an Advil just before bed and tailbone wasn't a problem...

102 this morning.  Yesterday we only got to 60° and it was really windy but today the wind is gone and it will be warming up.  Sorry Barbara, I know 60° isn't cold where you are and it is not really here, just colder than the couple of days before.  It was quite windy all across Southern California and the usual trees falling down on houses and cars.  Some pretty scary pictures on the news.

I am lucky that I don't have a problem falling asleep and sleep pretty good all night.  I do have to get up once or twice to pee but go right back to sleep.  I usually get 7 1/2 - 8 hours a night.

I am going to get a call from the ENT Doctor this morning to get the results from the biopsy on my thyroid.  Interesting that it was set up as an appointment for a phone call, not a video call but a phone call, but I guess it makes sense that it makes sure I will be here to get the call.
