105 this snowing morning. Boo! 30° when I got up and has been lightly snowing steadily since. Only about 1.5" at this point but kitties sure don't like it!

39° was the  high yesterday, today's forecast is 38°/24° with light now most of morning... I was really hoping the snow was behind us...well it is only March...

Glad all is well Wally, missed you FBG post yesterday.

Hi guys.Like I had said I am travelling. I'm at a beach resort about 150 kms away from home. Here to attend a wedding but I did carry my laptop. My wife belongs to this town and we have a common friend who is an eye surgeon, so we are both having our check-up today. I think I have cataract in one eye but it can wait for some time. Will know in a few hours.

104 this morning.  We got a light rain yesterday on and off and didn't end up with a lot, 0.02 inch, but it got the pavement wet through the day.  Some areas got a lot of rain and there was a lot of flooding in some areas especially to the North.  In the Sierras they are high enough that they got snow instead of rain and about three feet of new snow.  Another storm system is expected to come through next Tuesday and Wednesday so it isn't over.
Yeah enjoy the wedding SKB.  Hope your eye exams come out good.  Yeah the cataracts develop over a long time so you tend to compensate for them and it is not noticeable until it gets real bad.  An eye exam is the best way to detect if you have it.

108 this mostly cloudy morning.

41° was the high yesterday. After light snow yesterday, none in forecast for today which looks like 42°/20° though at 9:15 it is already 40° so may go higher, yes please!

I watched a video about the flooding in Nor Cal last night. Just awful! Though I did have to laugh at one of the tag lines re flooding in Kern County and into Larry county. I lived in CA many years and I really think they meant "in Tulare County". Unless there is a new county I never heard of... Correct me if I am wrong Wally!

Yeah you are right, no Larry county in CA, LOL.  I may be wrong but when I see errors like this I think they are using voice to text apps to get their story to print and the AI makes these kind of mistakes that the reporter doesn't catch.  It seems obvious that they don't use proof readers any more.

You are probably right. It just cracked me up even though the story itself was very sad. I guess none of the staff was from CA!!

Read about the flooding in CA. Seems pretty bad.
The eye exam went off well.
1) Don't need any glasses. Except for reading.
2) Cataract on the periphery in the left eye. Nothing to be done for the moment.
3) No retinal damage due to diabetes.

So far, so good.

105 this morning.  Ugh!  The time change is going to take a while to get used to, as usual.  Losing an hour is not that traumatic but I forgot about it and when I got up some of my clocks reset by themselves and I was confused for a bit.  It finally dawned on me and I just had to accept that an hour was gone!  ~shk~
Yeah the flooding is a real problem in some areas and mostly in the Northern counties but in our San Gabriel mountains where they got more snow than they have had for years and they are still trying to dig out the added rain is causing further problems.
Glad your eye exam came out good.  It is always nice to have good results.

92 this partly cloudy morning.

Yeah the time change always messes me up for 3 or so days. I wish they'd just do away with it!! Not only me but the kitties are wondering why their feeding schedule is so early...and why it hasn't been been before, as it should be!! Fortunately I any have 2 clocks to manually reset, stove and microwave. Phone and laptop/iPad do it on their own thank goodness. I reset before I went to bed last night.

Yes, skb, glad eye exam went well. Though cataract surgery is really easy...it is just the drops afterwards that are annoying. I had both eyes done early last year and my vision has greatly improved. No retinal damage here either thank goodness!

Hopefully your weather will improve Wally and those poor people will get a chance to clean up and repair.

Yep, the doc said that it was just the beginning of the cataract and the removal would be years later.

Wally, did you read about Terran the 3D printed space rocket that is to go into space. Apparently they had to abort twice due to some tech glitches. I was amazed to read about it a few days ago and thought that I would post about it but somehow it slipped my mind. Terran

96 this morning.  We are expecting another "atmospheric river" event to hit California tomorrow and it will bring flooding and problems to a lot of areas already dealing with a lot more water than normal.  The snow pack level in the mountains is at a historical level in some areas and over 200% of normal in some places:

"As of this weekend, the Southern Sierra now appears to have largest snowpack in recorded history
(as measured by snow water equivalent, or SWE). Not just for the calendar date, but for *any* date!"
tweeted Daniel Swain, a climate scientist at UCLA and the Nature Conservancy.

This is good for the level of water in our reservoirs and will provide a short time respite from the drought.  Unfortunately it will not have much effect on the underground aquifer.

Yes SKB, I did see the news about the 3D printed rocket.  It did have to abort the two tries to launch but it was not because of any problem with 3D printed parts.  3D printing with metal is being used in industrial applications more and more.  Pretty amazing technology.

It is going to take me a couple more days to adjust to the time change.  Unlike your kitties Barbara our dog is not affected by the time change at all and is ready to eat at any time!

111 this partly cloudy morning.

48° was the high yesterday. Today's forecast is a surprising 52°/32° (one other site has the high at 57°!) chance of some snow flurries.

Sorry to hear more bad weather is on the way Wally. Selfishly I'm hoping it skips me again.

Yeah, it is going to take me a few more days to get used to the time change too.  My kitties are hungry/will eat anytime, but they take their cue from when they see me moving around inside. Lately it has been earlier than usual so they expect food then!

So far the banks are in Silicon Valley,CA, some kind of strange/questionable financing... Hope Wally is OK. Nothing in MT so far. Most of my money is invested with a strong company so I'm not too worried at this point.
