81 this morning.  Another "atmospheric river" storm is on it's way to California starting today and it will bring quite a bit of rain with a high snow level of 9000 feet so probably lots of flood danger.  Here we could see a light rain but nothing big.
The banks that have failed are small banks that had regulations relaxed  few years ago.  Savings are still insured up to $250,000 and anyone with more than that and has it in a savings account in a small bank I don't think is a financial wizard.  One bank was in New York so it isn't just Silicon Valley but I don't expect it will become a big problem, at least I hope not.

111 this partly cloudy morning. Very windy in the wee hours of the morning but it has died down now and the sun is trying to overtake the clouds.

A surprising 58° was the high here yesterday, don't normally see that kind of temp this early. Today's forecast is 47°/33°. Chance of snow tonight and tomorrow, hope my ride doesn't bail on me tomorrow...

Thanks for the better explanation of the bank problems. The only $$ I have in a bank is my SS check direct deposit and monthly withdrawal from IRA (required at my age). The rest, I think is pretty safe where it is.

Yep, that made it to the news as well.

Let's hope so. Sometimes things snowball out of control and take a lot of time just setting back right. The world doesn't need a new crisis as of now.

102 this morning.  We did get just a bit of rain yesterday and over night but it only registered 0.10 inch on my rain gauge and never was more than a drizzle.  It was a different situation in some areas and there was flooding and mud slides as expected.  It should be out of here today but another system is headed here next week so some more of the same.
Hoping for good news Barbara.  I have an appointment with my cardiologist today but it is just a follow up check so nothing to get excited about.

117 this cloudy morning.

48° was the high yesterday. Overnight and morning snow left about 2" on the ground but it is already melting. Today's forecast is somewhere in the 41°/24° range. Next snow not until 3/28 but that is so far out, who knows?

Nervous about appointment. I don't want any surprises today.

Free at last!! Just got home from dr., brace can be off now. Just use it if doing something very strenuous. Back has healed well, vertebrae will always be a bit "squishy" and smaller than others but should not be a problem. Ribs healed fine. Dr said it really paid off following the "rules" so carefully.

It feels so good to not have it weighing me down and sleeping should be so much better!! Yay!!!

Fantastic news. Just what you wanted and just what the Dr. ordered. Hope other things also return to normal with that.

Now I just need to make sure my car is in running order, battery OK, no mouse chewed cables etc... It has been a while since I have driven (since 12/15/22) so am also kind of nervous about that too.

104 this morning.  All of the rain is out of here and it looks like nice weather through the week end.  Another storm system is heading this way and it is another "atmospheric river" that could cause problems for already soaked areas.
Yeah Barbara, so happy for you and now you can get back to a more normal life.
I had an appointment with my cardiologist yesterday and it was quite good.  I had worn a sensor that monitors the heart for a week that replaces a Holter monitor and the result was actually good.  Slight tachycardia but he said not enough to worry about and everything else looks good.  He doesn't need to see me for 6 months so that is a good sign.  It has been every 3 months since I got out of the hospital so I feel pretty good about it.  No more Dr. appointments for the rest of the month!

112 this partly cloudy morning, but. the sun is trying to peek through.

45° was the high yesterday, the snow was light, but annoying and the wind was a bit on the cool side but today looks much better. Forecast for today is 44°/20°

Glad your dr appt went well Wally, yes, not having a bunch of dr appointments looming. I have a Gastro Appt 4/20 and my yearly pcp appt 8/14 and that is it...God willing. I am going to be looking for a new pcp closer to home so may be an extra appt there.

Interesting note from Neurologist yesterday. I told her how pcp wanted to put me on a diuretic and I refused as it was I was already getting up 3-4 times a night to pee. I said I thought maybe my brace was pressing on my bladder and she said "Probably was" vindication!! Last night was much better...

Who would have thought of that? The shoe pinch is felt only by the one who is wearing it. Good analysis Barbara.

92 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 66° and we should be in the mid 60s through the weekend.  We are looking at a good chance of rain on Tuesday so  little bit here and a lot in other areas with a lower snow level than the last storm.
I am not a fan of taking a diuretic any more.  It may have been a coincidence but when my cardiologist gave me a prescription for two diuretics to be taken at the same time because he was concerned about edema in my left leg I ended up on the hospital with kidney failure.  One of them I was given when in the hospital and I took after I was released and it didn't cause any problem but the other one I believe was stronger and I still think it may have been the cause of the kidney failure.  That may not be true at all but I can't help feel like it may have been and would not take it again.  My cardiologist that prescribed it agreed.

111 this cold clear morning. It is still only 23° right now just after 9AM, but sun is up.

Yesterday's high was 42°, today's forecast is 47°/21° and clear.

In the past, long ago, I did take a diuretic (I think for blood pressure) but haven't for years and have done just fine. I just had a feeling that somehow all the peeing at night was due to the brace pressing on my bladder and Neurologist confirmed it. Glad I didn't let pcp pressure me into taking one now.

Happy St Patrick's Day to any that "celebrate" it. I celebrate the day before, yesterday was DD's 50th Birthday. On a coincidental note DS was born the day after Cinco De Mayo! Interesting bit of trivia only useful to me LOL!!

Very likely. In Jan '22 I was prescribed 2 pills for BP control, an ace-inhibitor and a beta-blocker, among others, that included a statin. On 4 occasions after that my heart rate fell as low as 27. All 4 times I went on a roller coaster with HR fluctuating between 27 and 180 within seconds. The cardiologist would not listen to me and got upset when I said that I am not going to take all those meds, though he's almost a family friend. After going through those episodes for 2 months, I decided that I would take a chance and threw the meds out of the window. I am fine since then and have not faced any irregularities that I was experiencing.
