It could actually be legit.  I know that a lot of drivers for FedEx are independent contractors.  They have to pay for the van and having it painted as a FedEx van and even wear the uniforms.  They have to pay for the gas and all of the maintenance on the van also.  When I lived on the mountain I had drivers call me to try to get me to meet them at a location near to a town about 20 miles down the highway because they didn't want to drive the 20 miles up and back to my place to deliver just one package.  I refused and they finally made the delivery but it could take a couple of days or longer to get the delivery.  It kept being marked as a delivery exception.  In town here the contract drivers have no problem because it is so close to everyone but in the boonies they don't last long.  I had a friend that tried it a few years ago and finally gave up because he just couldn't make a living at it, and that was after spending all of the money to get set up.

Thanks for that info Wally. I don't know if the drivers here are independent contractors or not. But once again I show a Weather Delay for my Chewy order. It is coming from Missoula via FedEx and that is only about 35 miles from here, all flat land. I don't know what to think at this point, now 2 boxes are supposed to come Monday. This is going to be my last Chewy order! I just don't need the stress in my life and since I can drive I can get the cat food at the grocery store!

ETA: The weather is not that bad either, just some wind and minor rain drizzles now and then. Yes, my road is muddy but it has been muddy before and FedEx has delivered on time...

Possibly the 'alternate address' would have to be entered by clicking a link that would put you in a lot of trouble. Be very very wary of clicking anything from unknown sources on your phone or your computer.

Yeah, there was no indication the message was from FedEx and the phone number was just one digit off from an unknown message I had gotten a couple of days ago. I googled the # and it came up as a spam # so I just took no risk and didn't reply to the can't deliver message. All I could think was a scam where they have package go to an unsuspecting address and steal the package before I would have a chance to tell the alternate person.

Still no official word from FedEx re the shipment. Tracking just keeps saying "Weather Delayed". (The weather is not bad!) I'm going shopping on Monday and will buy the cat food I need and will call FedEx and decline the shipment if it doesn't come Monday.

121 this cold cloudy morning. Still paying for the extra carbs???

45° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 41°/26° with occasional snow flurries. Woke to about 2" of new snow...sigh. Kind of wonder if I should go to the store today while snow is covering the mud?? Maybe it is partially frozen?

Fortunately I did get a couple small bags of dry kibble for the kitties so have that to fall back on, have a whole case (32 cans) of wet so can get by a few days if I need to.

Yeah "weather delayed" was one of the excuses that they use when they don't want to go out of their way to deliver the package.  I don't blame you for not responding to the message but the contract drivers use their own phone so it won't display FedEx and makes it harder to determine that it is real.  It's just that I had this happen to me several times with FedEx when I lived out of their regular delivery area.  What they are hoping for is another delivery nearby to make it more cost effective to drive farther.

108 this morning.  Our high was 73° and today is supposed to be 75° but windy, ugh.  Tomorrow there is a front passing through and it is going to drop to around 59° but no rain here.  Near the coast though they are expecting rainfall.
Friday was a huge day for tornados with over 25 known dead and lots of destruction.  This is the start of tornado season and April, May and June are considered to be tornado season for the Midwest and Southern states.  I wouldn't want any part of that.

It was in the news here as well.

Tested again today, 156. I am still eating some fruit everyday. That will need to go out.

106 this cold lightly snowing morning. (28° out right now)

45° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 40°/23° with periods of light snow. Basically a very light dusting.

My neighbor dragged the road last night. Road had dried some during the day. I now have 2 boxes from Chewy that tracking says are on vehicle for delivery. Man, they had both better show up today!! This has been very frustrating!!

119 this morning.  We got to 74° yesterday and the wind picked up in the afternoon and went all night.  Today we will see a big drop with an expected high of 59° and very windy all day.  After today it is going to warm up again and we are supposed to be around 80° on the weekend.
Tornados were in the news again over the weekend and are expected again tomorrow.  I feel sorry for the people that are affected.  The destruction can be huge and lives lost.
I feel your pain Barbara, I had the same type of problems with FedEx when I lived up on the mountain.  The worse was when the driver wanted me to meet him in a parking lot 20 miles down the highway to get my package.  I hope you do get your delivery today.

Jist of post...shipments arrived, new driver will talk to original about phone messages. New driver will always deliver to me. His shift Mon & Tues.

Kitty food here that is most important!!

Same here Wally. That is so true.

I had a controlled intake yesterday and was very keen to know what my Fasting number would be. Somehow I forgot all about this in the morning and didn't check. I also need to get back in the habit of checking before dinner. That gives me a very good idea what my BG has been doing throughout the day.

That is why I like to take a bedtime reading, to see how my bg ended up from the day.

104 this cloudy morning.

Yesterday's high was 40° with about 2" of fresh snow that mostly was gone by the end of the day. Today's forecast is 41°/24° with a few snow flurries in the AM. I will truly be glad when Winter finally decides to get out of here!!

I just want the next week or so to be as stress free as possible! I did have a good sleep last night so that is a good start.

107 this morning.  Kind of late to the party today, just got busy doing a little picking up and doing some kind of cleaning stuff.  It was cooler yesterday and the wind was blowing all day really, really hard.  Today it is supposed to start warming up and the wind is gone!  ~clp~
Weather here is looking like it will be pretty nice for the next few days.  Not so for those in the Mid West as there is more bad weather and tornados possible.
