Yesterday's high was 45°, today's forecast is 42°/23° with periods of snow flurries...dang, I was looking forward to getting out today. This snow was not in the forecast yesterday... I am going to drive up to the head of the driveway and see what the road looks like mid morning, maybe I can get out today??

106 this morning.  We got to 59° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 59° today with no wind.  It will start to warm up a lot and be in the 80s over the week end.  Barbara it still looks like Winter in your area.
The snow pack in the Sierras is at 200% of what is considered normal which is good and accounts for a lot of our water but the concern is that it may melt too fast and cause flooding.  Since many of the reservoirs are nearing full and they are also used for flood control high levels of snow melt will have to be released and that can cause problems down stream.  One way or another they will deal with it.

95 this mostly sunny morning.

48° was the high yesterday with periods of snow flurries. Today's forecast is 54°/30° with just a few clouds. Sounds and looks like a beautiful day!!

Saw the first robin yesterday after I got home from errands. A true sign of Spring! the flickers, black birds and even a few ducks have been back a few weeks but the robin is really the herald of Spring!!

I am really finally feeling good!! Still have to baby my back but outlook is so much better!

108 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 62° which is just a bit warmer but it is supposed to be warming up quite a bit now and we are going to be in the 80s over the weekend.  We don't seem to have robins around here but the mocking birds are out singing their heads off trying to find a mate.  That is probably the biggest first sign of Spring here from the birds.  The flowers and the trees have all been blooming and leafing out for the last couple of weeks so that is also a big sign.  The humming birds are here year around.
Glad you are feeling better Barbara. It really does help your outlook, I know it does mine.

Thanks Wally, so true. Things ae finally looking up!

No mocking birds around here and nothing is in bloom yet, so no humming birds yet. Still some cold weather ahead, probably not much more snow but plants won't start waking up until May sometime.

When I lived in the Sierras they had a saying "Nothing in the ground until after Frog Jump" (the County fair) which was in mid May. Same pretty much true here too.

There is no such thing as spring in Mumbai just a slight difference in the temperature range between the "winter" and these tolerable months. Though I did have a small baby monkey visit our house this morning. The dogs were barking their head off.

126 this morning.

Oh gosh! I remember the monkeys in India. I don't remember what city we were in but there was a whole bunch of monkeys hanging around. The guide warned us to hold on to our possessions tightly. All of a sudden out, of the blue a monkey jumped on one of our group and grabbed her glasses right off her face! The guide chased it down and somehow got them back, but boy was that an experience!!

Yup. That happens, mostly in cities of a religious nature. The temples attract a lot of visitors who give food items to these monkeys and at some point of time they become aggressive. My wife lost a walkman to a monkey in Africa.

108 this mostly sunny morning.

52° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 58°/38°though one site puts overnight low at 28°. Small chance of rain or snow showers in the evening.

I don't know what is going on around here but there was another medical emergency across the road from my tiny road on Wednesday. I happened to look out window Wed. afternoon and saw emergency vehicle lights on the small hill across the road. Next thing the med-evac helicopter flew overhead and landed there. I found out yesterday on the Nextdoor ap that a woman visiting there had a cardiac event  and is now in hospital in critical condition and not expected to make it.

That is 3 events (including mine) since Dec...there are only 4 homes on my little stub, so 2 of us and then across the street!! Scary...

113 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 68° and heading to 75° today and 79° tomorrow.  Yeah Barbara in the Sierras they will be digging out of the snow for a while yet.  It is a record year for snow there with the snow level at 200% normal.  Now the hope is that it will not warm up too soon and cause the snow melt too fast and cause flooding which is probably going to happen.

Well in the last year we have had the ambulance on our block three times also.  Once for my BIL who had a heart attack, once for me with kidney failure/heart failure and once for our neighbor, I don't know what her problem was but she was in the hospital for a long time but is back home now.

138 today morning.

Yesterday (Friday) was a veg day and I had some yoghurt at dinner. I suspect it was slightly sweetened.
