It is certainly great to have a handy man in the house. 130 today.

107 this morning.  We got to 87° yesterday and it is supposed to be just a bit cooler today at 82° and then a bigger drop to 72° tomorrow as a light front goes through but no moisture, just wind.  It will be back to 80+ over the weekend.

Yeah it is a good thing to be able to take care of most things that would need some professional if he wasn't able to do it.  Around here there are not a lot of decent plumbers, electricians and the like to chose from.  Because my BIL is working with most of the sub contractors in the area he knows who to contact if it is something that he would rather have someone else to deal with.  We need to replace the roof shingles this year and we have done it ourselves before but we both are not up to it physically any more but he is friends with a roofing contractor who will do it.

104 this snow flurry morning. sigh...

Yesterday's high was 52° today's forecast is 48°/32° with snow/rain flurries. Looks like about the same for the next couple of days. Just hooe the road will. hold up and not get too muddy again.

Still no word on "garbage gate". All I wanted was a clean can and to know it would always be there... but I guess there has to. be some sort of repercussions for the young man taking our bins...

Yeah, I get it Wally, that is why I depend on my next door neighbor for recommendations. He is a welder and knows most of the various contractors, his wife manages a gas station and knows tons of people too. I have never had a bad recommendation from them.

117 this cloudy maybe snow showery morning.

49° was the high yesterday. Today's forecast is 45°/32° with possible snow flurries and maybe some rain showers.

Missed skb posting last night, don't remembering him saying he was traveling, I. sure hope he is OK. I even stayed up later than usual waiting for his posts.

Wally re our avocado discussion a while back, have you ever tried Wholly Guacamole? It only has these ingredients: Hass avocados, distilled vinegar, 2% or less water, jalapeno peppers, salt, dehydrated onion and granulated garlic. I can't finish a pint container, but it comes in mini cups that are equivalent to about 1/2 avocado (2 oz) and make a great serving size. Tastes great too!

111 this morning.  We got to 80° yesterday and it is going to cool down to 73° today and of course windy then warming back up to around 80° over the week end.
Yeah I noticed that SKB was missing and don't remember him saying anything about traveling so I also hope all is OK.
Yes I do get the Wholly Guacamole and have also only usually get it in the mini cups.  We have tacos at least once a week and they are great on a taco!  The plus side is that they last for a long time in the fridge so no one day and it is mush.

I used to have to go up. to town to an organic grocery store to find the Wholly Guacamole, I was thrilled to see it in my local larger grocery when I shopped there a couple weeks ago. I hadn't shopped there in a long time, but now I'm back!!

Sorry I could not inform you that I had to travel for a day on the 13th. The trip was being discussed but it was finalized suddenly on the night of the 12th, and therefore I did not get the time to update you.

Thanks for your concern and thoughts.

102 this cloudy morning.

50° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 49°/25° with clouds and a very slight chance of snow flurries.

Wally, I noticed yesterday that the Wholly Guacamole says it can be frozen so I am testing out one mini pack to see how it holds up. Have you tried freezing it? If it works, it would be nice to have some in storage.

119 this morning.  I am actually kind of surprised as I didn't think I had anything that would cause a very high reading but oh well.
We had a high yesterday that was low for here at 73° and it is supposed to get to 74° today.  I know Barbara wouldn't consider that to be low but tomorrow it is supposed to be back to 80°!
I never noticed that it could be frozen my BIL stops and picks up groceries at least a couple of times a week and it is one of the things he will usually pick up if we are out so freezing probably isn't something I would try.  One of the things I like about the minis is that they stay good for quite a while in the fridge unopened and you can use one up each time you use it.  The large tub never got completely used up before it went bad.

Yeah, I had the same problem with the larger tub too. I'll let you know how the freezing test goes. If it works OK I'm thinking I could buy the larger tub and freeze in 2oz portions and it would probably be cheaper than the minis. I don't get out that often to shop and last time I was out I bought the last minis on the shelf.

Yesterday (Friday) was a vegetarian day for me and the day before I was travelling. So I had to eat what I got and one airline meal. My BG has climbed back to 142. Sigh.

104 this sunny, but cold (20° 7:45AM) morning.

Yesterday's high was 50°, today's forecast is 58°/35°. Looks like it will be a really nice day!

Saw the first quails yesterday! It was a pair and I could see several kitties giving them the eye, but no one went after them. They look like California quails, I usually have a large covey each Summer, so them coming back is a good sign of better weather on the way.

105 this morning.  We had a high of 75° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 80° today.  I would say we are seeing pretty much Spring weather for here.  High and low desert areas all over California are seeing a really big wild flower  bloom right now after all of the rain.  The desert floors are just a carpet of flowers in some areas, what is referred to as a Super Bloom.
We often see quail running through the yard but I haven't seen any yet.

After all the rain/snow CA had, I am not surprised that the wildflowers in the desert are amazing!!
