102 this partly cloudy morning.

66° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 64°/35° with some clouds. The 30th is supposed to be 81° our first 80 of the year! Then a few days in low 80's and back to 60's with chance or rain. Well, I'll enjoy the sun while it is here.

I'm going to wait a couple days to go out, it was just to the grocery store and I actually really need to eat down some of the things I have already. I may even wait until Monday when I take up the garbage, then I can go to the PO and maybe the forms for the new pcp will be there. Suddenly I don't want to go out ...weird!

Well I tried that and for some reason it didn't work so I guess I will just have to do it the hard way!

80 this morning.  Cutting carbs is really not that hard and I have done a pretty good job in the past.  Right now I am just eliminating some of the more carby items and it is going pretty well.  Last night we had some homemade stir fry with vegies like zucchini, green beans and broccoli and chicken and shrimp.  In the past I would have about a cup of rice with it but eliminated the rice and that was all it took.  I have started to lose a bit of weight but that will take some time to register how much over the long haul.
We got to 87° yesterday and it is going to get to 92° today and high 90s for the weekend then a drop of about 20° next week.

It isn't. The challenge is in doing it day in and day out for years. Somewhere fatigue creeps in and I guess it is more mental than anything.

94 this sunny morning.

68° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 73°/33° and clear.

I do have to admit that I too have slacked off some on the low carb diet. Even before the big weight loss... I have to get back on the plan but also keep some of the loss as it does seem to have in most cases helped keep my bg steadier.

I think you are right skb, fatigue does creep in. Not necessarily craving the wrong foods, just tired of being watchful of what one eats all the time.

79 this morning.  We had a high of 93° yesterday and it is going to get to 95° today.  It is going to be the same for the weekend then cooling down for next week.  Now that the weather has warmed up all over California after all of the heavy snow there is a worry about the flooding from a high snow melt.  Some rivers are already becoming dangerously close to overflowing and Yosemite National Park is closed due to the danger of flooding.  We really did need the water and this is just one of the things that comes from a winter that brought us a much higher than normal snowfall.
SKB, I am only 5' 7" (67 inches) tall and right now weigh 178 pounds and that is a lot more than I am comfortable with.  My goal right now is to get to 160 pounds but would probably be better at closer to 150.  You are right about fatigue creeping in and that is where I decided a while back to allow myself to increase my carb intake and it didn't have a really bad effect but after I got out of the hospital back in August I started to go too far and it did its work on me.  I didn't worry about it and let it go until one day I was just fed up (unintended pun) with it and decided that I was going to get back to watching what I eat.  So far it has not been a problem and I am going to stay with it until I get to where I feel comfortable then I may relax it a bit but I think the answer is to not let it get out of hand.

The reason why I asked is to figure out your BMI and ideal weight.
This is how I go about calculating it. First you height in cms = 67 x 2.54 = 170
Then deduct 100 from this 170 - 100 = 70. This is your ideal weight in kgs or 70 x 2.2 = 154 lbs. So your goals are quite correct. This weight will put you right in the middle of the BMI chart, somewhere between 22.5 to 25.0

100 this mostly sunny morning.

71° was the high yesterday. It was a beautiful day! Today's forecast is 79° with low 40's or high 30's overnight, and sunny!

I found a BMI calculator online and did mine this morning. 5'4"/127# (slowly creeping up! Yay!) Result was 21.8 almost smack in the middle of normal for my weight. Maybe I am just about right for my age, height, weight??? Does that make me normal? LOL!

74 this morning.  We got to 94° yesterday and it is supposed to be 96° today.  Same for tomorrow then Monday a big drop to 72° and in the 70s all week.  There is a very low chance of rain but then anything can happen.  There is a bigger chance of rain on the coastal side of the mountains.
Yeah SKB I have a scale that downloads my weight readings to an app and it shows BMI and right now it is 28 according to the app.  I don't really worry about BMI but I know that I feel a lit better when it is below 25.  I was at 155 pounds for several years but after my stay in the hospital last August I put on the larger load.  I really don't think I will have a problem getting back to where I want to be but it will take a while.  Slow and steady has worked well for me before.

Simply put, BMI = wt in kg / (ht in mtr)2

I doubt it. The BMI is just a number that indicates whether you are normal, overweight or obese. It cannot indicate the metabolic status of a person. I have often wondered the logic behind the wt v/s ht calculation. It is 2 dimensional and doesn't take into account so many other factors. But it is what it is and is a decent enough indicator of the general shape of a person.

106 morning.

72° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is an amazing 82°/42°! It is supposed to be sunny too! A couple really nice days then a couple with thunderstorms and then a couple with rain. Hoping the rain doesn't happen for a while, that prediction is so far out who knows?

After yesterday's yard work, I should take it easier today, but I think I will try doing a few things outside again today.

94° this morning.  We got to 96° yesterday and it is going to get to 96° today then a big drop tomorrow to 72°, I know not cold but still quite a big difference.  It is going to be in the 70s all week with only a very small chance of rain here but they are looking at a better chance of rain closer to the coast.
I know BMI isn't a perfect measure of normal or obese but it is an indicator and it does seem to be a close measure of where I think I should be.  Before I started to gain weight I had a BMI of around 24 and was happy with how I felt there.  I think I will be happier when I can get back there.
Barbara, it sounds like your weather has taken a much more Spring like turn.
