It sure has...at least for a bit, but then should get back to more Spring like soon after whatever rain may be coming.

101 this mostly sunny morning.

78° was the high yesterday, just a bit under forecast but it was beautiful out. Opened up the house to air it out and let the sunshine in. Today looks about the same, forecast is 83°/44°. Temps look warm next 10 days but thunderstorms and rain showers for 9 days after today...argh! I hope it isn't much rain, if really any... Just when I think the cat beds will be safe and dry for a while. sigh

74 this morning.  We had a high of 93° yesterday and today it is going to drop to 78° and drop again tomorrow to 66° as a cold front passes through but a very small chance of any rain here but as usual windy.

108 this sunny morning.

81° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 81°/45° with thunderstorms possible in afternoon and evening...I hope not... sigh.

Maybe it is your weather heading my direction Wally? Hope it misses me!

101 this morning.  We got to 77° yesterday and it is supposed to be 66° today and windy again.  The high winds make it seem even colder.
This system is going to be here all week but it isn't going to be much of a rain maker, just cooler and then warming back up on the weekend.  It very well could be heading your way Barbara.
Still missing SKB, hope he is OK and just busy.

Sorry guys, I was travelling and completely forgot to update you about my plans.
I had to attend a friend's son's wedding in another city. Originally the plan was to travel on 1st morning and return on the 2nd morning. But, the airline I was booked on sent me an SMS that my return flight was cancelled. The fares for the other 3-4 fights for the day went soaring sky high, and the better thing was to book for today morning flight.
That left us with a free day yesterday, so we drove 60 kms to visit a National Park and do some tiger spotting. That turned out pretty well with a big male gracing us for about 25 minutes.

We did miss you, I thought maybe you were off in the woods... Looks like you had quite the adventure! ~wow~ That is an amazing video! You were so close to the tiger, were you in vehicles? It sounded like a vehicle taking off at the end.

Glad you are back!

111 this partly cloudy morning.

79° was the high yesterday with periods of thunderstorms and a tiny bit of rain. The wind was a pain though with all the boxes that are out that the kitties like to sit in! Today's forecast is 81°/41° with very slight chance of a thunderstorm in afternoon (I hope not) otherwise looks like 2 nice days then 2 not so nice days ahead.

Today was weighing day...125.9# so down a bit from last time (127#), natural fluctuation most likely. But Gastro wanted me to weigh, so weigh I will and record to show him...

When I was in India, I didn't see tigers in the wild, but one of the retreats we stayed at had all sorts of cobras in the yard. They showed us the holes to their nests and warned us to stay away from that area.  It was kind of scary, but I have a feeling the cobras were kind of "domesticated" or they wouldn't have let us around them out in the open.

102 this morning. That's quite impressive SKB.  The closest we can get to a tiger is in a zoo or the circus but never in the wild.  Thought it was something like that when we didn't hear from you but can't help wondering if all is OK.  Glad it is and good to hear from you.  With only the three of us it is really evident when one fails to post.  I still get emails from the other forum, guess i am still on their mailing list, so I stopped in the other day to see what they were doing.  There are 3-4 that post regularly and a couple that post once in a while.  For as many people that had belonged at one time it is pretty meager now.

Yes we were in open jeeps. We were tracking the tiger's pugmarks and eventually found him resting in the waterhole. After a while a few other jeeps also arrived at the spot. Later, there were thundershowers in the area and we were completely drenched.

When I started my wild-life journey in 1993, there were no jeeps and safaris. You could drive in with your own vehicle and very few people were interested so hardly anyone ever came. Most of our tiger sightings were on foot back then, though we did keep a safe distance and there was safety in numbers. Usually, wild-life likes to avoid humans more than we do them. I clicked this one in 2005 while I was on the ground and just a few meters away from him. Of course my vehicle was a few feet away, just in case.

:D There is no such thing as a domesticated Cobra. The ones snake charmers use have their fangs removed so that they do not have the ability to bite and inject venom.
In all probability the holes that you saw were used by Monitor Lizards, though snakes wouldn't mind  using them especially if it is hot.

I haven't done that in a long time now, but last I had visited I could see the lack of activity, and from forum developers sites I know that, that is the situation across forums in all sectors and disciplines.

We did actually see a couple of cobras in the yard from inside the home. Apparently the area (I can't remember where exactly it was now) was known for the snakes being around. I was kidding about domesticating the cobras, it just seemed kind of odd they would let us wander around where there was a potential of coming upon a snake... (ETA: But this was back in 2000, maybe wildlife/contact rules were not that strict??)

That tiger is so majestic, what a beautiful animal!!
