94 this sunny morning.

Yesterday's high was 79° (that I caught on my outside thermometer, but one site said yesterday was 88°) this difference really makes me think I am not quite in the covered location. In the days to come there is a chance again of showers and thunderstorms...not looking forward to that if it does materialize.

I haven't been back to the old forum in a long time, sounds like they are not doing great in participating membership either... the times change with the advent of newer Social Media I guess. Maybe will pop over and have a look...

79 this morning.  We got to 68° yesterday and it is supposed to be 66° today with a chance of some light rain.  Over on the coast they are getting a fair amount of rain and snow in the mountains with possibly as much as a foot of new snow.  Quite a deal for May when there is usually nothing.
SKB the Tiger is quite impressive.  I would be a bit worried being that close to one in the wild but then we have mountain lions in our mountains and I lived and worked around them so I guess it is what you get used to.  The mountain lions are not nearly as big as a tiger but still can be dangerous. They also don't really want to deal with humans and will usually avoid contact but can sometimes be aggressive and attack so it pays to be careful.

The smaller cats are more dangerous than the big two, tigers and lions. They have smaller size, body weight but better agility and can adapt and come closer to humans. On top of all that is unpredictability of the cat family.

103 this partly sunny morning.

78° was the high yesterday. Unsettled weather with thunder, lightening, and some rain. Looks like it will be like that until next Tuesday maybe w/out the thunderstorms...just showers. Really dislike the unsettled weather, will be glad when it passes.

Finally got my appointment for the MRI the gastro wants. The 15th of this month. He says everything looks basically OK nothing to lose any sleep over, but just wants to be sure there are no signs of cancer in my liver.  Um, yeah, nothing to worry about...on what planet???

84 this morning.  Our high was 66° yesterday and a bit warmer at 70° today and tomorrow but windy both days.  Starting Sunday we will be back in the 80s.
Actually Barbara there is really nothing to worry about until something is actually determined.  I have a chance of cancer on my thyroid as nodes were found on it when I had a CT scan but I have had two biopsies that have come out negative so not going to worry.  I have a high PSA number so there is a chance of prostrate cancer but I am being seen by a Urologist and it doesn't look too likely but he is following up every 6 months just to keep an eye on it.  I had a Cologuard test that came back positive so I have an appointment with a Gastro for a colonoscopy but I am not really worried about that.  Some day something will take it's toll but worrying will not really have any effect on it.
Got a call yesterday and the company that has run fiber cable through town is ready to hook our house up so I signed up and have an appointment next Thursday for the installation!
 ~wut~
We have been waiting for this for a few months and getting rid of the old cable will be a real positive thing.  That company has been reluctant to spend any more on new equipment than absolutely necessary and could run cable but was not willing to do it so another company came in and did it.  I don't see how they will be able to stay in business after the new company is finished because I believe most people will change.  It is Gigabyte speed and $30 less per month than the cable.  Having all new equipment will also be a big help.

I know Wally, but having already been through breast cancer, that little thought is there in the back of my mind. This August will be my 10 year survivor anniversary!!

Wally, you have been waiting for a long time for the fiberoptic cable. And you say it's faster and cheaper. Wow. Enjoy.

100 this cloudy drizzly morning.

69° was the high yesterday overnight rain about 1". Was more than predicted for overnight. Today's forecast is 58°/38° with periods of light (supposedly) rain.

Today is son's Birthday, he is at his place in Kirkwood getting ready for a snow tour with some friends. He said they have had 720" of snow there with 5" more predicted today. And here I was moping around because of rain showers!!

I know we will have more showers as my knees are really stiff and sore...

80 this morning.  We had a high of 70° yesterday and windy and it is supposed to be 70° today and windy.  Tomorrow it is going to warm up and our high is supposed to be 79° and back to more Spring like weather.  Now they are saying that there is a very good chance for an El Niño which affects the weather over the globe but here it usually means a lot more rain.
Yeah Barbara I do understand why you are wary of what results could be and congratulations on 10 years cancer free.
Yeah SKB we have been waiting for the fiber hook-up for quite a while and cheaper and faster is a good thing.  They also provide a modem at no charge and a mesh unit to put elsewhere in the house for better wi-fi reception.  I am anxious to see how it is.  I don't really expect to see any real improvement for speed as I don't really have any need for a faster connection than we have right now but reliability is the big thing.  Our cable company which bought this area from another company has not spent the money necessary to replace old failing equipment and drop outs were happening too often and when it rained it was a sure thing that there would be drop outs.

100 this cloudy morning.

58° was high yesterday and it was mostly dry. Today's forecast is 63°/41°. For the next few days weather looks a bit unsettled but not any huge downpours. Only thing not happy about is one site says possible snow flurries late tonight...sheesh!

Well, it is what it is, this is May, it may be hot, may be cold, may be dry, may be wet or snow...

If I can. work up the energy for it, I think I will clean out the refrigerator today. Lots of jars of stuff that can probably go...

112 this morning.  We got to 66° yesterday but it is supposed to get to 80° and then we will be in the 80s to low 90s for the next few days.  This is great weather as far as I am concerned and we will enjoy it before it gets hot.
Barbara, I missed congratulations to you and happy birthday to your son so happy to both of you.  I am amazed at 720" of snow!  Here at Mammoth Mountain it is at 245" at the summit and that is huge!

Thanks Wally and skb!! DS was 52 yesterday and DD was 50 in March...no idea how that happened or where the time went!!

Yeah I was shocked at the snow he had there! He said before the Spring melt of the last few weeks the snow was up above the porch on the second story of his condo there in Kirkwood. They must have a terrific maintenance crew there!

Yeah, time does fly. As a mental exercise, I try to look back at the good times and try to live some moments in my mind with as much detail as I can remember.

107 this mostly cloudy morning.

62° was the high yesterday. The day was mostly sunny and nice, but it rained lightly most of the evening. Today's forecast is 65°/42° with some clouds and sun then showers at night. I can't wait for a nice string of dry days and nights!!

Yes, skb, I too often go back and remember the good times and it does make me smile. The good memories do sometimes lead to some not so good ones, but they are a part of the whole so I have to consider them too. They are all part of my life.
