102 this sunny morning.

yesterday's high was 78°, today's forecast is 85°/49°. again with the haze. Air quality has gone from Good to Unhealthy in the last 2 days.  Apparently there are a bunch of wildfires in Alberta that are messing with air quality in MT. Beginning to dread fire season here.

It is hilarious to watch the kitties in the morning as they parade off on their daily adventures. At least 3 will cross the bridge to my field and a few others go up my drive way in a line and head to a neighbor's field. This morning a couple went over my side fence to next door neighbor's yard to hunt mice. Busy, busy, busy, it is like they are going to work... A few don't even come back for a couple of days. Cultivating new homes maybe?

108 this morning.  Last night was taco night so not too bad.  We got to the predicted 99° yesterday and it is predicted to get to 98° today but cooling down a bit next week.
I got my drivers license renewed yesterday and it was not crowded at all which surprised me but I got lucky.  At my age I am required to have the vision test and written drivers test which has never been that hard.  I had a commercial drivers license for about 15 years before I retired.  One down and now I need to get a smog check so I can renew my registration and all of the DMV stuff is done.
Type 2 since 1993.  Control with LCHF diet.

At 75 here in MT you have to renew your. license even  if you did it just the year before. They said the last time I renewed that at 75 I'd need to take an eye test but didn't say retake the written test. Not really worried about either (I have one more year) but maybe for the written, I will pick up a new manual or find it online just for a quick review.

Yeah I found several sites on YouTube that had the actual test questions from the California test with the answers and explanations.  It was better than trying to remember what was in the manual.

Mine is up for renewal around end of November. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it done online without making a trip to the department office.

80° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 81°/52° with scattered rain/thunderstorms possible later in the day. Sigh...

Lost a crown last night, darn, if it isn't one thing it is another. My dentist retired mid year last year and I figured I had plenty of time to find a new one. Then the $hit hit the fan here and I just never got around to it. Now I have to start looking for a dentist...more new patient forms!! Ugh

104 this morning.  We got to 97° yesterday and it is supposed to be 95° today.  Last night around 9:00PM we had a thunderstorm with lightening and thunder and very heavy rainfall for about 1/2 hour with a total of just over 1/3 inch.  This morning the humidity is 70% so it will me muggy today.
Yeah it is an age thing here in California.  When I renewed my license 4 years ago I also had to take the written test and eye exam.  Another thing is that if anyone, family member, doctor or a policeman can report to the DMV and have you do a required drivers competency test.  On one hand it seems like you are being targeted because of your age but on the other hand it is a fact that as people get older they will not admit to having less ability to drive safely.  I thing that no accidents or tickets should count and maybe they do. 
One thing we have a lot of here is Dentists so I look for one that takes my insurance and the one I have now I have had for several years and I like her a lot so hopefully won't have to change.

Well, it does make sense. Senior citizens should undergo some testing before renewals, but the criteria should not be the age (number of years) rather something like a medical exam. Personally, I would rather not drive in Mumbai and avoid doing so.

Oh boy! I don't blame you, even 20+ years ago when I was there, the traffic was horrific compared to what I was used to. Thankfully we had a bus driver that took us everywhere.

20+ years ago the traffic was manageable in Mumbai. Now it's more sitting than driving.

105 this cloudy and possibly rainy morning.

80° was the high yesterday but a thunderstorm blew through early evening and then a fair amount of rain overnight. Boo! Today's forecast is for much cooler weather. 68°/41° with some rain and possible thunderstorm in morning. I don't like this dry. then wet weather on and off over and over...

Finally got the name of the local high speed internet service from the road sign. Turns out it is the company I used before I switched to Century Link. At that time they put an antenna on my roof aimed at their tower on the mountain near me. Bad service! I went to look at their website and it was not even a secure site. Don't think I can trust a service that doesn't even have a secure site... Still looking.

Today begin the search for a new dentist... sigh

108 this morning.  We got to 95° yesterday and in the evening we had quite a thunder and lightening show, not a lot of rain, about 1/10 inch, but my lightening detector showed 52 strikes in 30 min. and all that thunder drove the poor dog under my desk.  That is her favorite hiding place when it booms.
Barbara I wouldn't stress too much about your internet speed unless you are having trouble doing what you want to do.  I have serious doubts about the speed you reported as I don't think it could be that low and you being to do even the most minimal tasks.  Even with the Hughes Satellite internet I had when on the mountain I had 50Mbps download speeds.

Yeah, I can do what I want. Sometimes I have to wait a tiny bit for a video to load, but all in all I've gotten by with this speed for years. Unless something really good and decently priced comes along I'll probably stay where I am.

Well, it's not really a very big thing you know. The big boys who govern the internet determined one day that websites must have something called SSL Certification and those that did would use the "https" protocol instead of "http" which was the earlier norm. So the site not secure warning is your browser telling you that this site is still using "http". BTW we were among the first of the forums to install SSL.

So it would be safe input credit card info and other personal info in a non-secure site? I didn't have a good experience with this company when I first used them and it just makes me uncomfortable they couldn't bother to even. get a secure site this time around.
