Yep, I'm back. Barring a 30 minute delay for the return flight the trip was pretty smooth. Only we had to skip lunch due to time constraints and nibbled something at the airport on the return.

The train crash was horrendous with 3 trains involved in it. It seems as a hand of fate, as one of the trains was running late. I have a big interest in the railways and understand quite a bit of how things work. IMO, it seems to be a case of human error and negligence.

119 this sunny morning. Don't know where that came from...oh well...

80° was the high yesterday. First totally dry day in a fairly long time. Today's forecast is 85°/52° with the ever present possibility of showers/thunder storms.  Sigh.

Worrying about fire season though, things look bad in Eastern Canada and the East Coast is so full of smoke as a result. The damp here is good/bad. Good for keeping fires down now, but as things dry out all the overgrowth is going to be a real fire danger... Don't want to jinx us, but this could be a bad fire year...

101 this morning.  We had a high of 86° yesterday and today it is supposed to be down to 77° with even a chance of rain showers later this afternoon.
I am off in a bit for an appointment with the ENT for a follow up on the nodules on my thyroid.  I had an ultrasound last week so we will see what that shows but i have hat biopsies twice that turned out negative so I don't know how much more has to be done.

Hoping all goes well at the dr. Wally and there are no problems.

Tomorrow is my turn, I see the Bone and Joint dr as my trigger fingers and arthritis have flared up since my fall. Hopefully another round of steroid shots will do the trick again. Last set lasted me 10 yrs w/out return of pain. I think I must have landed on my hands badly and really aggravated everything in the process.

101 this mostly cloudy morning.

84° was the high yesterday with a huge thunderstorm in the evening. Today's forecast is 74°/56° with yet again thunderstorms in forecast and looks like through next Monday. My whole body is weary of all this damp weather, so many aches and pains!

Bone dr this afternoon, hope he gives me the steroid shots today, but think it is going to be ex-rays and come back for the shots another day. :(

107 this morning.  We only got to 77° yesterday as predicted and didn't see any rain here but in other areas around town they did have rain but now it is going to warm up and be dry.
I hope your appointment goes well Barbara, I usually get the X-rays before my appointment but I guess it depends on the doctor.
My appointment with the ENT yesterday went well and my next follow up will be in a year.

158 this cloudy morning. Better than last night, but still a ways to go...

Good thing is, after ex-rays the dr went ahead and I got the 4 steroid shots. Hands are better today, right trigger still a bit sore but expect that to work out soon. When I told him about my fall and injuries I mentioned that back sometimes bothered me. He said at this point in healing I shouldn't be having pain something may be going on. I said that it was more stiffness and aches if I did too much and the damp weather. He let it go at that...for now. sigh

Stressful day yesterday weather-wise and today's forecast is better, but still wet! Yesterday's high that I caught here at home, was 79° but it might have been a touch higher. Today's forecast is 77°/54° and thunder-storms possible afternoon and evening. ugh!

109 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 87° and it is heading to 91° today.  This should be the warmest for a few days but it will be pretty close and there may be a slight chance of some thunder storms next week.
Well, I am glad you were able to get the steroid shots and not have to go back.  It will raise your bg for a bit but it doesn't last long.

Yeah they are still high today but not as bad as yesterday. I took a couple tests during the day that were really high but I had eaten soon before each so not a great indicator. I kind of decided I was going to be high a few days anyway so had some things I normally don't eat very often. Back on track tomorrow!!

Ahhhh... 115 this partly cloudy morning. Things seem to really be getting closer to normal again! And hands feel pretty good too!

78° was the high yesterday, first all dry day in a long time. Just some thunder late in the evening and a few drops of rain after I went to bed. Today's forecast is 77°/48° with the ubiquitous presence of possible rain/thunder storms. I think the weather people are stuck in a rut!

Kittens are getting really bold and are showing much less fear of me which warms my heart. Last evening I looked out the kitchen window and there were 3 kittens following a mama (three moms "share" care of the bunch) along the wood post of the side yard fence. I took a photo but it will be too large, have to figure out again how to edit it down so I can post it.

Hope this worked!

I'm going to really have a quiet and stay at home day today. I even went out and filled my gas tank for Monday's drive to town for eye dr appt. I don't need to go anywhere else all weekend! Yay!

103 this morning.  We got to 91° yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today but there is a small chance of thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow.
I still have an old copy of Adobe Photoshop that I bought several years ago before they went to an annual subscription and it has a "save for web" feature that makes it really easy to resize photos but I would not buy it today.  I know there are several photo apps today but I have never tried any.

I figured it out once a while ago (I used to have a program on my old Dell computer for resizing for eBay but that is long gone). What I finally figured out was to go to photos and open the pix then select edit then using Preview. There I could crop, then I emailed it to myself and picked up the image from there to post.

Probably a lot more work than an app, but I don't need to do it often, so this works...just need to remember what I did. Now it is posted here so I can look it up if needed again. One less thing for this ole brain to retain.

It did. But here's some additional info for more clarity.

There are 3 steps to making an attachment;
1. Browse & Select
2. Upload
3. Insert

Now, stopping at Step 2 is an option. When you do this, the attachment is displayed as a Thumbnail and when it is clicked it will open up in its Original size in a new window. Max permissible is 3.4 MB.

When you go up to the Insert stage, the attachment is made "within" the post as a part of it and I have set those size limits as 400 x 400.

So, in short, for larger images don't Insert, just Upload and stop.

As an example, is an attachment only Uploaded in the next post.
