122 this sunny morning.

71° was the high yesterday. It was a lovely day sunny and bright. Then terrible thunder/lightening/rain/hail in the evening. Made me remember years ago when kids were little we took a trip to WI to visit my relatives in the Summer. The days were so nice but every evening there was a thunderstorm. That memory kind of calmed me down.

Today's forecast is 81°/54° sunny with possible rain/thunderstorms in evening...

Ophthalmologist appointment went well. No signs at all of retinopathy and barely any change to rx for glasses so don't really need new ones. Eyes are doing just fine!! Phew!

94 this morning.  We had a high of 89° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 92° today and then be in the mid 90s for the rest of the week.  Not bad at all for June but then July and August are usually the hottest.
Glad your eye appointment went well Barbara. My eye doctor is back to work after taking several months off for maternity leave.  I guess I should make an appointment although it has only been about 6 months since my last one.

I got my eyes checked a couple of months ago and things looked kosher. The next one would be anytime after mid 2024.

I get a yearly exam thanks to Medicare because I am a diabetic. Glasses I have to pay for.

115 this partly cloudy, breezy morning.

78° was the high yesterday. It was a nice dry day, only some tiny sprinkles in early evening. I think a bit of rain really late after I had gone to bed. Today's forecast is 70°/44° and of course the "chance of rain/thunderstorms". Hope not!

Just found out my oldest Grand-daughter (the one with T1) is going to be coaching skiing in Argentina starting in July (Winter there I guess). The team used to come up to CA where GD was coaching during our Winter and they liked her so much asked her to go there. I think it is the National team but not 100% sure. She loves coaching and this is such a great opportunity for her. I am a very proud Grandma!!

101 this morning.  We got to 92° yesterday and should have a high of 93° today so pretty much the same.  They are saying that in the South of the USA there is a very good chance of a Derecho developing.  I think I have heard of it but was not sure what it was.

Derechos are fast-moving bands of thunderstorms with destructive winds. The winds can be as strong as those found in hurricanes or even tornadoes!

There have been cases in the past where it has caused wide spread damage.  Apparently mostly in the Central and Southern USA.
It makes the earth quakes we sometimes have here seem much less of a problem.

Yikes! The weather has certainly been doing strange things lately! I don't know if it is global warming or what it is, but it has been strange.

I never knew for sure what a Derecho was, thanks for the info. Sure hope it doesn't make it up here! And here I have been complaining about nightly thunderstorms...

116 this cloudy morning.

70° was the high yesterday. A nice dry day. Sure was nice. Today's forecast is 69°/45° and cloudy. I'll gladly take the clouds over the wet!

Today was weigh day, 123.7#.  Down a bit from last time, I'm going to count it as natural variation though I don't like to see it going down again...

104 this morning.  We had a high of 94° yesterday and it is supposed to be 95° today and tomorrow.  We may get to 100° Saturday which would be the first for this year.
The Southern USA didn't have a Derecho yesterday but they did have severe weather and some tornados so bad enough.
I am slowly managing to lose weight and the trend is down so I am pleased about that.  I finally did get under 170 and weighed 168 yesterday so I am getting closer to my goal of 160 pounds but I may revise that to 155.

I'm going to assume you are about 5'-5" tall and that would put your ideal weight at 165 lbs. So, definitely you weigh less than you should but with age this is a natural thing to happen.

I used to be 5'5.5" but am now 5'4" so the shrinking has begun. My normal weight up to the injury was around 145# now am in the mid 120's. Seems a bit low and will be interesting what the Gastro says in Nov at my next appt.
