107 this partly cloudy morning.

75° was the high yesterday, with a thunder storm and some rain in the evening. Sigh... Today's forecast is 78°/50° may be a nice day, but next 4 look to be back to the rain/thunder storm possibilities. So damp there are mushrooms growing all over my yard and all over the whole area. They are beautiful and all different but also more than likely poisonous so no eating them!

Tried to use the arm bp monitor but the sleeve doesn't fit me any more (too big) due to the weight I've lost I guess. Wrist reading was: S128/D71/P75 so feel all is well and will keep records until I see new pcp and then go by what she says for further testing. And hope she'll drop my bp med back down to 50mg instead of the 100mg current pcp changed it to.

102 this morning.  We had a high of 88° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 93° today so warming up.
I take my blood pressure most days just so I have some data to give my cardiologist just so he has better data to decide if there is any need to change my medication.  I have been able to keep my BP in pretty good control for some time so maybe it isn't that necessary but I am also a creature of habit.
The wrist monitor may be just fine for you Barbara I just didn't find the one I had to be too accurate but that was a long time ago and I don't even know what brand it was.

Since I don't have any other heart issues other than occasional White Coat, (even when in the assisted care facility bp was normal) I think this wrist one is OK for my purposes. The pharmacist at the drugstore I got the Omron wrist monitor said it was pretty accurate. Not as precise as the one at the dr, but reliable for home use.

I understand your hesitancy Wally, not totally trusting it. We are in totally different places heart health wise. I have never had to even see a Cardiologist. So far...

Those are perfect numbers. The new PCP should be happy.

The monsoon has set in very well. Things are wet and slippery and the lawn will start turning green. The heat is down a bit too. Around 80oF right now (9:15 am)

And it's good that you didn't get the covid shots.

I don't understand...could the covid shots do something to the heart?

I didn't get the shots because early on they said they could cause Anaphylaxis. I have had an episode of that and never want to again! Maybe things have changed, but I just can't risk it!

I believe so. 2 days ago the Indian Council of Medical Research initiated a study to find if the vaccination is causing cardiac issues in the young. I cannot tell you the number of youngsters that have died with cardiac arrest in the past two years. The celebrities get reported in the news and that gives you an idea how far spread this is among the general population.
Just yesterday someone I know, who is a long distance runner (as a hobby) told me that for unknown reasons his heart rate was touching 200-220 in the course of a normal day. Thankfully the issue resolved on its own after about 6 months but he hadn't got a handle on it. When I told him why I think it happened, it was like a Eureka moment for him.
I know the ICMR study will eventually say this is all hogwash but I certainly think the shots cause more harm than good and this will come out sometime after 2030.

Wow! I haven't heard anything like that over here!  It stands to reason with the huge population in India the test pool would be so much larger and adverse results might show up there sooner.

Personally, I seem to have a very strong immune system. I haven't gotten flu shots in over 20 years and never had the flu. I don't get colds often and as far as I know have not had any Covid symptoms (and I certainly was exposed in the assisted care facility as Covid ran rampant through there while I was there). Allergies to meds is more of a problem for me and the possibility of Anaphylaxis terrified me enough to stop me from Covid vaccination. I did what I felt was right for myself. Now I worry about my grand kids, even the littles have been vaccinated.

108 this morning.  It got to 92° yesterday and it is supposed to be 94° today so mostly the same but warming up each day this week and we will finally break into 100+° by the weekend.
I got the covid shots and boosters because I was more worried about the effects of covid than any problem with the vaccine.  I did get covid in 2021 and thankfully it was a mild case and was more like a cold with a bronchial condition but I do have scaring on my lungs from it.  I do think the shots helped me a lot and would probably ended up in the hospital without them.  I get a flu shot every year also and have not had the flu for years but I used to get it every year so what ever works for you.

Monsoons have set in this part. The news informs me that it is after 62 years that Delhi and Mumbai received the monsoons on the same day, 14 days late for us and 2 days early for them.

110 this partly cloudy morning.

70° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 76°/52° chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Yesterday's rain was just a few drops which was OK by me, hopefully today will be the same.

Garbage day today, taking garbage up to the can at the road will probably be the extent of my going out today.

124 this morning.  I tried to sneak in a small baked potato last night so no surprise.  We had a high of 92° yesterday and it is supposed to be 94° today and close to that until Thursday when we are supposed to pass the 100° mark and heading to 110° over the weekend so July is going to be normal for here.
For the next three weeks I have nowhere I have to be!  That is wonderful.

112 this partly cloudy morning.

78° was the high yesterday, again just a few drops of rain late in the afternoon. Today's forecast is 75°/55°, looks like thunderstorms in the. afternoon...kind of hope they pass me by again.

Awakened early by cats fighting. There is one stray that comes around occasionally and the mamas quickly go after it. LOL, these kittens are so funny. A bit ago, I looked out kitchen slider and the big lilac bush by my bedroom window was trembling. Huh? Looked closer and there were 3 kittens climbing the branches. These cats are all tree climbers, the kittens are starting early!!
