111 this rainy morning. Slept late after getting up around 3:45AM...

71° was the high yesterday, the rain passed over during the day. Today's forecast is 74°/53° with steady rain until noon. The rain started in the wee hours. It woke me a couple of times and as it got heavier I got up and went out and covered the bed on the front porch even though it was already a bit wet. Left the side beds, no one has been using them so will just put them in the garage today. Will dry the rags and get new boxes ready to put out.

It has been raining steadily, hope it does stop by noon. Looking at radar, looks promising. As much as I want things to dry out, I'd like to get past the 4th with everything damp.

86 this morning.  We got to 94° yesterday and it is supposed to get to 96° today then we are going to break into the 100° mark tomorrow.  We don't have any chance of rain here until maybe Fall except sometimes we get "monsoonal" rains coming up from Mexico and can have thunder storms but that is rare.  It is common in Arizona and in the Summer it often rains every day.
Yeah the 4th is hard on the dog as there are a lot of people that just have to set off fireworks that are illegal and loud but it doesn't do any good to try and do anything about it so we just keep the dog inside.  Fire here in town isn't really too much of a problem so it is just the noise.

All this rain/thunder storms is not normal here for this time of year. The weeds have grown like crazy and if it ever totally dries out fire is going to be a big worry.

Yeah we get the crazies here on the 4th, shooting off anything they can find. I once found a casing in my driveway that must have come from a rifle shot up into the air. Sheesh! It becomes the Wild West here on holidays with fireworks as the celebration factor.

Being a National level sports shooter myself, I can say for sure that even shots fired into the sky are very dangerous. I'm very happy that I was the one who devised our Safety Course Program which has been made mandatory for anyone who desires to shoot at out ranges.

84 this morning.  We had a high of 96° yesterday and today is supposed to be 102° so into the 100+° and Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be 110° and 112° so a hot July 4th weekend.
We haven't had any fireworks yet but it is coming.  Guns fired into the air are very dangerous but there are idiots all over.
The wildfires in Canada were in the news this morning and it is the worst ever in Canadas history.  I don't know if you are still getting the smoke from them Barbara but the East from Minnesota to New York are getting a lot according to the map and they are supposed to burn into the Fall before they are able to put them out.

No, no smoke here from those fires.The. smoke we got earlier this year was from fires in Alberta which is just North of us. So far so good smoke wise here. I really feel badly for those getting all that smoke.

109 this clear morning. Just lovely outside!

Yesterday's high was 79° and clear! Today's forecast is going to be a warmer 89°/57° and clear. Lots of mid 80's in the next 10 days. That is about the highest temp I am comfortable with.

More fireworks last night. This morning a local woman posted on the Nextdoor app that her prize winning/hand raised hen died of a heart attack due to a neighbor's shooting off fireworks last night. She said that lots of farm animals suffer injuries and even die of shock from the fireworks so close to them. I knew about dogs and cats being scared but didn't really think about the livestock. It is sad, wish MT would have some regulations re where they could be set off...

107 this morning.  We just broke the 100° mark yesterday and today will be hotter at 105° and even hotter on the weekend.
Yeah SKB, people around here don't know how to drive in the rain either but then it doesn't rain as much here as you get.
Here in town the so called "safe and sane" fireworks are legal and they are not as bad as a lot of different types but still not great.  Just because the others are illegal doesn't keep people from getting and setting off some really dangerous and very loud fireworks and we have a lot of that.  I never thought of livestock either but it makes sense.  We haven't had anybody setting any off yet but it will happen as we get closer to the 4th.

That's sad. And you're right about us never really thinking about livestock. Loud sounds are unnatural and would send all lifeforms into shock. At parties, me and my wife try to stay as far away from the loudspeakers as we can. The constant throbbing of the base does something to us, and it's harmful.

It has been many years since I went to any kind of party with loud base. However my neighbor across the road is a 20 something and his parties are really loud and booming! Not looking forward to the 4th and his party! Maybe he will go to a friend's place!

My next door neighbor and his wife took off in their camper so safe from the loud music there. And they have been known to have some rip roaring music.

109 this sunny morning.

Yesterday's high was 80°, today's forecast is 88°/49° and sunny. One site says possible thunder storm in afternoon, but that is the least reliable of the 4 I look at.

Just as I was going to bed last night, the neighbor across the street set off a whole bunch of fireworks. Not the pretty lights ones, (not that I want to see then in uncontrolled spaces either) the ones that just make loud booms.  ~sad~
