105 this morning.  We had a high of 104° yesterday and they are predicting 110° today.  Today and tomorrow are going to be the hottest then it cools down just a bit.
There haven't been any fireworks here yet and that kind of surprised me but probably we will have plenty going off near the 4th.
Two homes behind us have pools so sometimes loud music and lots of yelling goes on into the night but I don't have a hard time tuning it out.

104 this sunny morning.

82° was the high yesterday, and the rogue weather site was right after all, there was a thunder storm and some rain in the morning. I should trust them more! Today's forecast is 85°/51° and sunny.

I have been drinking various combinations of camomile tea in the evenings in hopes of sleeping better, and something more than just water. Only I have found I am needing to get up even more to use the bathroom in the night. It is not more liquid but maybe the camomile. Did a quick google and I may be right, sigh. Will research more today.

More fireworks last night, ugh! I noticed the kitties weren't that scared and then realized there have been so many thunder storms lately that they may be somewhat sensitized to the boom boom noise. Will see how they do on the 4th when it is really going to be bad. Not looking forward to the big night!

103 this morning.  We got to 108° yesterday, 2° below the predicted 110° but close enough to not matter.  Today it is supposed to get to 112° and at 7:00AM it is 90° so pretty sure it will get there.  This should be the hottest and then a slight cooling trend.
The fireworks started last night and went on past midnight.  The dog doesn't like it but she seems to be taking it easier than in the past.  Because the 4th is Tuesday it is going to be drawn out over the next few days.

102 this sunny morning.

Yesterday's high was 80° a perfect day by my book! Today's forecast is 81°/50° with slight chance of a thunder storm or two late afternoon and some rain overnight...

At least it was quiet last night, no fireworks set off. Small things make me happy...  I have been thinking of that poor hen and the other livestock around this time of year. Wild animals can at least run away to somewhere they feel safe, a penned or in a barn animal has no escape from the firework noises thus more chance for panic/injuries and sadly things like the heart attack.

On the other site I frequent a person (back East somewhere) said the other night kids were setting off bottle rockets and one landed on a neighbor's roof and the house burned to the ground.  The people that lived there are gone on vacation. Can you imagine coming home to that??? Yikes!

93 this morning.  We got to 110° yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today.  We may see a slight cooling trend starting tomorrow but still over 100°.
We had no fireworks yesterday either so pretty nice.  Our dog goes under my desk to hide from loud noises and that is her "safe" spot.
Bottle rockets and the like are what I am the most worried about but I don't think it is too much of a worry here, at least I hope not.

That's really sad. For some this was a 'celebration' and for some everything owned is burnt down. I hope that Insurance can cover for all the damage.

I'm pretty  sure insurance will cover their loss. I want to see the kids that did it face some repercussions for their actions. And not just from their parents!!

110 this cool sunny morning.

Woke to find a dead kitten in front of the garage. No sign anything tried to eat it or anything. It was very small, among the backyard litter, probably the runt and just didn't make it. Gave it a burial and will see it at the Rainbow Bridge one day. Sad, but part of nature...

Yesterday's high was 77°, today's forecast is 79°/48°. Cooler and there is prediction of some smoke drifting in from the fires in Canada so could be a hazy day. Hopefully it passes soon.

Taking it easy today, hoping so do the yahoos with the fireworks.

Happy 4th of July Wally & ShottleBop! I know it isn't a holiday in India skb, but have a nice day too!

83 this morning.  We had a high of 107° yesterday, just a bit below the predicted 110° and it is supposed to be 104° today so just a bit lower.
Sorry about the dead kitten Barbara but I guess it happens.  I know you take care of the ones you have around.
Happy 4th to you also.  We have not had nearly as much fireworks as we have had in the past so I don't know if people are out of town or just have grown up but it is nice.  One thing that is becoming more prevalent is drone shows in large stadiums instead of fireworks.  They have a couple hundred drones that light up and make remarkable images in the sky.  I guess it is going to become more popular and the videos I have seen are quite remarkable.  One thing is cost, drones are reusable and fireworks are gone when set off and cost a lot.  Of course there are always those that will demand the fireworks.

Ohhh! Drones! How wonderful, I could live with that, so much safer fire wise! Plus so much less annoying noise!! But. sadly. I think you are right, there will always be those that need the things that go boom and spray the lit embers!!

It has been much. quieter here this year too. I was looking at the fireworks regs for my city:

"Discharge of legal "safe and sane" fireworks is allowable ONLY on July 3 from 6:00pm to Midnight and July 4 from 8:00am to Midnight. Fireworks are prohibited in all parks and Town owned properties."

It is a pretty small area so I suppose it could be fairly well enforced, now if they actually do is another story...

100 this slightly hazy sunny morning.

Yesterday's high was 75° which was about 9:45 in the morning, then the haze moved in and it dropped to around 72° where it pretty much stayed the rest of the day. Today's forecast is 83°/51° with hazy sun.

It was loud and scary for the kitties last night but at least none of them were right near me. The other good thing was it seemed to stop pretty close to midnight as per the rules imagine that! There were lots of the exploding pretty. light ones but far enough away I wasn't worried about fire.

However this morning the whole back yard group of kittens and mamas seem to be MIA. It is 8:30 and usually they are out before 7:00 waiting for breakfast. I'm hoping it is the cooler weather keeping them snuggled in, but this is the group that lost a kitten so just maybe the fireworks scared mamas into moving headquarters... I think the food will bring them back sooner than later but right now I am missing them... sigh.

skb, interesting about the hottest day. By itself the temp doesn't seem that high but factor in that it is worldwide ,it is troubling as 1/2 the world is into Winter.

103 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 103° and should be the same today.  I did see the article saying that yesterday was the hottest day ever and sadly I think that will be happening again.  Right here we are having pretty normal weather and not hotter than usual.
Last night the morons pulled out the big illegal fireworks and it was pretty loud until after 10:00PM then I finally fell asleep.  The dog didn't like it but is doing just fine today.
Yesterday was the 4 year anniversary of the 6.4 earthquake here and today was the 7.1 that happened the next day.  It was quite a ride and glad it was over without too much damage.
I don't know why it wouldn't show, it did on my computer.  It was just a screen shot of the article.  Here is a link to the article.
