115 this drizzly morning.

72° was the high yesterday, overcast and smoke kept it cooler, a pleasant relief, finally. Today's forecast is 75°/56° with showers AM and possible thunderstorms too in the afternoon. Heavier rain is predicted north of me which is good as some of the bigger fires are there. Supposedly there will be some sun here, but who knows?

Yup. Just like the lab test for BG are more accurate than home meters, the lab test for A1c will always be better, because of the equipment being used. I tried a A1c home and lab test simultaneously a few times just to calibrate the accuracy of the home test. I found that the home test was around 0.2 % lower.

105 this cloudy morning.

66° was the high yesterday with light rain early in the day. Today's forecast is. 74°/53° with possible thunderstorms and some rain in the afternoon and evening. Damp/rainy weather in forecast until Wed hope it helps put the fires out, or at least slows them down.

107 this morning.  We had a high of 105° yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today then cooling down next week, it may even get below 100° on Wednesday but that remains to be seen.
Mammoth Mountain ski resort is closing today for the season, the longest they have been open for a skiing season.  This is because of a record 75 foot deep snow level at the top.  It took this long to melt to a level that skiing is not safe.

117 this partly cloudy morning.

69° was the high yesterday again with just a few small showers. Today's forecast is 78°/56° showers and thunder storms slightly possible.

Tomorrow the bug spray people come. It is the time for them to do under then house too, hope no stray kitties adventure in when they open the entrance. I will be glad for all the yellow jackets and wood bees and even the other bees to be gone. Still have a residual of the hive nearby that swarmed this spring and boy are they annoying. I know bees are basically good things to have, but they can go do their good things somewhere else!!

104 this morning.  We had a high of 105° yesterday and now it is supposed to start cooling down and we may see temps under 100° fot a couple of days.
Off shortly for a dentist appointment, just a cleaning and exam so not a big deal.

96 this partly cloudy morning.

76° was the high here yesterday, with a few very light showers. Today's forecast is 82°/55° with possible showers and thunderstorms, but most will go around here. Doubt it will make it to 82° but a warming trend is coming the end of the week.

Bug spray guy comes this afternoon. Kitties are going to be scared and mad because I'll have to put their food away until spray dries. They are just going to have to deal. They are going to be even more scared when the pump guy comes (hopefully this week) to replace my frost free pump as he will be using heavy equipment to dig it out and replace.

93 this morning.  We had a high of 103° yesterday and it should be the same today and then a bit cooler tomorrow.
We have been very fortunate with having very few if any bugs here but I think the heat may be part of it.  We have flies and other insects in the Spring when it is cooler but in the Summer they go away.  They will be back in the Fall.

The biggest nuisance inside is the earwigs. I guess maybe there is a nest or whatever semi nearby. They are basically year round. Yellow Jackets are the worst outside bugs, this year bees I think from the hive nearby that swarmed and of course flies all over! Flies love kitty food. :(  Occasionally I will have an influx of wood bees, they are here this year, and get into any crevices of the wood and eat away at it. And of course the ubiquitous mosquitos!

The worst time is the summer, they all freeze up or go into hiding late Fall through late Spring so Summer is bug time here! And frankly I don't like bugs of any kind!

A round 100 this sunny morning.

79° was the high yesterday a nice day! Today's forecast is 84°/53° TV weather says may be some showers and thunderstorms but all the weather sites give that little chance. Will just have to wait and see. After today supposed to be back to dry and warming weather.

Bug guy found a huge yellow jacket or black hornet nest on the back side of the garage where it is all overgrown with baby trees. It was the size of a volleyball! YIKES! He said it was empty, they were all out doing their bug things but he knocked it down, destroyed it and sprayed product all over where it was. He said they may come back but if the touch product they die and the survivors won't build there again! Phew! Otherwise outdoors is nicely bee free and the flies are way down and don't see any ants, so successful job done! t
The big plus is the spray is not toxic to people or animals.

I have to laugh because the guy's mom is a  cat lady like me! She has 31 cats all fixed by the same place I am using! Can't wait to get them all through that!

Snap Barbara, 100 here also.  We had a high of 102° yesterday and it is supposed to be 100° today but probably a couple of degrees cooler.  This is really nice for here in August.
Glad you got the bugs taken care of Barbara.  Yellow Jackets and wasps are pretty rare here and I have never seen a nest around here so happy about that.  The honey bees we have are not a problem so not worried about them.  Ants have been a problem in the past and it seems to go along with the weather.
Off in a bit for an appointment with my PCP but I don't think there is anything pressing so just a routine follow up.

104 this partly cloudy morning.

82° was the high yesterday. Just one rumble of thunder and a few rain drops. Today's forecast is 81°/59°, though TV weather says it will be 84°. Warm up starting tomorrow.

Taking it easy again today, nothing pressing to do. Tomorrow is pcp appointment, lots of questions for her!

104 this morning.  We had a high yesterday of an even 100° and the predicted high today is 93° so a lot cooler and a slight chance of some showers.  We had a few drops just a while ago but just a few drops and nothing like a shower.
PCP appointment yesterday went as expected but since I have been taking iron as a supplement because of anemia she wants me to have a blood test to see what the iron levels are and may want me to stop taking it.
