Yesterday's high was 78° with a few patches of clouds. Today's forecast is 87°/51° and sunny.

Yesterday morning I was just sitting in my pjs sipping coffee and the dr office called at 9:50AM and asked if I could come a day early as an opening occurred. I said sure, then found out appt was for 10:20!! Yikes! Raced around and did get there on time. Nice that new pcp is so close!

When I checked in I asked if this would be a problem with the Medicare schedule...of course no one knew at first. Checking they said it was exactly 1 year since last Wellness Check. Their Medicare (bookkeeper?) expert said as long as it was the same month it would be OK. I asked, what if it isn't, and they bill me? She said just call her and they will write the bill off especially since I was doing them a favor. Wow!

Since it was Wellness check, we just mentioned the knee and made another appt to deal with it. They actually do the shots there which is very cool, I won't have to go up to town for them. She lowered my BP med back to what it was before. I was having some symptoms that indicate a possible reaction, among some are dizziness, wheezing, plus it could affect liver and I don't need any more problems there!

She was agreeable to more A1c tests and more regular check ups so felt good about that. She said it is normal as you get older for the A1c to creep back up, but she is OK still being in pre-diabetic range. I did notice she changed my status to T2 under control with no insulin.   She was listening to me after all! All in all a good appt. and I am so glad I changed to this practice!!!!!

105 this morning.  We had a high of 93° yesterday so nice to get a break and be below 100°.  We had a prediction of possible showers and got a few drops but hardly a shower.  It is going to start warming up a bit now and back to over 100° but that is normal.
The fires in Hawaii are terrible and really sad.  I lived in Hawaii for 9 months when I was in the Army before going to Vietnam and I don't ever remember it being dry there but that is what they are having to deal with along with high winds.  Today the news said that it was 80% contained so maybe they can get it totally out.
 Glad you had a good experience with your new PCP Barbara.  That really makes a difference to being able to take care of yourself.

Thanks Wally! Yes it does make a big difference to have a dr you can talk to and that listens to what you say in return. I am just sorry I didn't do this sooner!

Yes, the fire in Hawaii are terrible, I read this morning the death toll is even higher now around 60!! So sad that so much of Lahaina has been destroyed, it was a beautiful historic place. I think fire scares me the most of all natural disasters...

80° was the high yesterday, today's forecast is 86°/51°. It is supposed to warm but with small chances of thunderstorms and rain, very small chance.

102 this morning.  We had a high of 97° yesterday and it should be about the same today.  They are talking about a heat wave here next week but the prediction is for temps up to 106° and for here in August that is not a heat wave, it's actually not bad at all.

Yesterday's high was 80° a very nice day just enough breeze to keep the. smoke away from this area. We have many fires burning here, but nothing the magnitude of the Maui fire. Read this morning that the death toll is up to 93 souls and most likely will go up. So sad for all concerned. Lahaina was a beautiful historic town, now the fear is that big land developers will come in and make it a high price area for the affluent. I hope not! Hopefully they can preserve some of the history there.

Yesterday's high here was 80°, today's forecast is 98°/56° the heat begins again. Hopefully it will stay cooler in my little spot. Now the problem is this heat will dry out everything again and more fires can be a danger.

101 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 101°, snap with my bg  , and it is supposed to warm up this week here also but just by a couple of degrees and then cooling down next week.
Yeah that is one of the worries with higher heat and if it gets windy it can be bad.  So far we have had several smaller fires and the big one in the Joshua Tree preserve but not where any homes have been threatened so hoping that continues.

Yesterday's high was 85°. Today the forecast is 101°/59°. Yikes! The next 3 days are supposed to be at 100° or a bit over, then cooling a bit on Thursday. Hopefully my little spot will stay at least in low 90's.

My handy man called last night, he will replace faucet and put in revolving shelves in cabinet that used to be drawers on sketchy tracts that all broke... I have a few other small chores for him too. He came through my neighbor and is a really dependable and good worker.

104 this morning.  We had a high of 103° yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today.  It will be around that for the rest of the week then cooler next week with a chance of showers for 2-3 days.  That is still too far out to be accurate but it may be right and even welcome. 
Wow Barbara, it looks like you may be dealing with temps close to what we have here but we have a big house cooler so not nearly as bad to deal with.

Yeah Wally, once I got over the disappointment of losing my long time very dependable plumber, I remembered Leif the Handyman I had used. A call to him and he can do most if not all of what I need done. Definitely the faucet!

I am not looking forward to the next few day temp wise! Hopefully my location due to the water around me, will stay a bit cooler. I really do not do well in the heat!

106 this morning.  We had a high of 105° yesterday and it should be the same today and tomorrow then cooling down and under 100°.

Early this morning, off to have a blood draw as my PCP wants to check on my iron levels and earlier is better for beating the crowd.

90° was the high here though local TV said it was 100°. Different location I guess. Today's forecast is 100°/58° with possibly a few clouds. Hoping I stay cooler again today. Inside only got to about 84° at the highest so bearable.

Lots of trips outside to keep kitties water dishes full but otherwise stayed inside.

I wondered why you were early today, noted it in Exercise thread. Takes me a bit to get all the windows closed up and covered for the hot day so I am a bit late to post. Plan to have the same kind of day today as yesterday and just try to stay comfortable. 

One good thing about my new pcp is that the clinic is so small I go the same time as appt and they draw and process blood right then, no extra trips required.
