99 this drizzly/rainy morning. Hilary's affects have reached us...

Yesterday's high was 75° with just a few drops of rain. The showers started after midnight. Looks like they will be around in vary degrees, sometimes heavy sometimes light most of today. Not windy (yet) thank goodness for that! Today's forecast is 73°/59° and rain.

I see there was an earthquake in So. CA along with Hilary. On the TV forum I read, some one posted she knew of 3 people who had already registered for patents on the word "Hurriquake" she didn't think it would go to any of them. Though I expect some weather station may get it...

Hope you are staying relatively dry and safe Wally. Some of the photos of the flooding I saw on TV last night looked pretty bad. There may even be some flooding here if it rains hard enough, I hope not...

84 this morning.  That's two days in a row!  I wasn't very hungry last night and just had some BBQ pork loin that was left over and a couple spoonfulls of corn.
We did get quite a lot of rain, 5 3/4 inches, but it was mostly just a steady light rain over a 24 hour period so no flooding here and thankfully no wind.  We did get more than a years worth of rain in one day and here it was nice.  There were some areas where there were heavy flooding and mud slides and yeah there was an earthquake that was 5.1 which is nothing for Southern California but by the news reporting you would think it was a disaster and the world was coming to an end. I guess the storm wasn't causing enough of a disaster they were delighted to have another "disaster" to report.  Oh yeah, the rain, not a hurricane, had nothing to do with the earthquake, we have them all the time and when the hurricane crossed from Mexico into the US it was not a hurricane any more, it was a tropical storm.

Yeah, when I looked up the earthquake on USGS site and saw it was only 5.1 I knew it was being blown out of proportion. Even the way our weather people are talking about the heavy rain we are supposed to get I think is way out of proportion to what we actually will see. The cat food dishes out over night had barely enough rain in them to cover the bottom of the dishes (pie pans). It is going to rain, but not as bad as they are making it out to be.

The worst I see for here is the road is going to be a big mud suck again for a few days.

Talking about the rain, we had the wettest July in 40 years and now the driest August in God knows how many years. We'll know when the month ends.

110 this partly cloudy morning.

Yesterday's high was 65° with heavy rain showers at points and drizzle at others. Did have a small bit of sun too. Today's forecast is 81°/55° may see some showers and. possible thunderstorms. This is supposed to be the tail end of Hilary's affect on us, maybe a few showers Wed then back to Summer weather. The rain has really helped in the fire control so can't be too mad...

Have to change the kitties cardboard boxes as they got pretty wet and are sagging but that is about all I have planned for today.

84 again this morning.  It looks like i am stuck at that number but that is not a bad place to be stuck although it won't last.  The rain is out of here and it looks like we will be having sunny clear skies for the rest of the month and even temps under 100°.
Off in a bit for an appointment with my Dermatologist for a routine checkup and there are a couple of spots I would like to have looked at.

105 this morning.  The rain is out of here and it looks like sunny skies and temp around 98-99° for the rest of the month.  Another doctors appointment this morning and it is to have my toe nails cut.  This is a feature of Medicare that I really do like.

103 this partly cloudy morning.

Yesterday's high was 79° with periods of pretty heavy rains which really help damp the fires down. Worst seems to be out of here too, weatherman says maybe a couple showers or possible thunderstorm today, but we are heading back to a more normal Summer weather pattern.Forecast for today is 76°/56°.

I really need to get set up with a Podiatrist as it is so hard for me to cut my toe  nails any more. Another thing for my list for next pcp appointment.

110 this partly cloudy morning.

Yesterday's high was 77° a few small showers but now rain appears to be gone until at least the weekend. Today's forecast is 83°/46° mostly clear except for smoke mostly from the Canadian fires, ours are getting slowly under control. Now I am opening the windows during the day to warm up the inside, but that will change soon enough!

101 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 94° and it is probably going to be the same today.  No rain for the ret of the month.  Reports are now coming in about the effects of the tropical storm Hilary and there were some areas that took a lot of damage mostly from flooding and mud slides.  Death Valley is closed due to damaged roads and them being covered in mud.   This is common in the desert when we get higher than normal rainfall.
Appointment with my podiatrist went well and I do feel better to have my toenails all clipped.
No more appointments for the rest of the month but that is only one week and then in September I am back to more appointments.
If it weren't for doctors appointments I probably would never leave home.

I hear you! Grocery store, PO, and dr appointments are the only time I leave home...

100 this cool but sunny morning.

Yesterday's high was 75°. Today's forecast is 81°/53° with the last vestiges of Hilary in a few drops of rain, a possible thunderstorm and some high winds this afternoon. Next chance of showers end if the weekend.

I have a kitty that ventured into the garage when I had the door opened and forgot to close it.  Two days and it still won't come out. I've had a few do that but as soon as I open the big door the noise has them running out. This one no go... Started putting food and water in there for it, but on the other hand don't want to encourage it to stay. Stood outside in the dark last night for over a 1/2 hour with the side door open hoping it would go out...nope. It meowed at me but wouldn't come out. I can't leave the door open because others will go adventuring inside too. It is so jammed with boxes and stuff I can hardly check out all the hiding places. Frustrated...

108 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 98° and it is supposed to get to 99° today then over 100° over the weekend.
It sounds like that kitty has found what it thinks is a home.  I would not put food in there and put food outside to bring it out.  Eventually it will come out to get the food.  I know you don't want to starve the kitty but it will come out when it gets hungry enough.

I thought about that, but with all the other kitties here, any food I'd  put out will be gobbled up by them. Unless I put the food out in the evening and stand watch over it... I already moved it to right by the door, but maybe I should move it to the opening side and then at night lure it out with the good stuff in a can??

I was my own forgetfulness that got it in there now I feel bad I can't get it back out...
