115 this cold morning.

The high here yesterday was 71° again the weather station wherever it is located, got 85°. Today's forecast is 70°/38° with a few clouds.

The weatherman on TV Sunday night said the Northern Lights would begin around 9PM...I kept checking, as it was fairly clear, up until I had to go to bed...nothing just a faint light. Last night's weatherman made no mention of them at all. This morning I read that they didn't show up until around 2AM this morning...no way I would have been able to stay up for that. I still can't find any reference to them being visible here in my area. I'll watch the TV local news and see what they say...  At least I have seen them before in Alaska and was awed byr them...it was just cool I might have seen them here at home too.

ETA: Oh my, sorry to hear that Wally!  If anyone can fix it, you can! I am all Mac here so hopefully none of those problems for me!

No I don't expect you will have any problem at all.  It works just fine on my Mac laptop I just downloaded and installed the program for Mac from the Epson website and it works just fine.  I ignored the CD that came with the printer, don't know if yours comes with one, as it is out of date anyway but it is easy to get the install program from the Epson website.  My problem is with Windows.

Quote from: walkerwally1 on September 19, 2023, 10:47:02 AMI do know that it is a Windows problem as I can use it without a problem with my Mac laptop and even my iPad but if I try to print with my Windows desktop it freezes up and does nothing.
Hope you can set-up and resolve the problem. Maybe it's your desktop PC that has some issue with the printer. Try to set it as the Default printer in the Printers and Scanners settings.

103 this morning.  Checking in a bit early today as I have an appointment with my cardiologist this morning, just a routine checkup.  We had a high of 93 degrees yesterday so it is getting just a bit cooler and should be in the low 80s by the weekend.
Unfortunately it is not just a problem with the Windows printer program but it is Windows itself.  I finally decided to reset Windows which is pretty drastic and it did not help with my problems.  I have made backups many times and now I can't even reach the backups!  I am using my Macbook right now and thankfully it works without any problems but I have to learn how to do some things on it like I don't know how to get the degree symbol but I will learn.  After I am back from my appointment I will try to get the Windows problem fixed.

128 this really cold morning (30° when I finished feeding the kitties, one of their water bowls was partially frozen).

Wally the degree symbol is holding  Option/Shift/8 at the same time. °  ~ cat ~

Yesterday's high was 68° (but sites say low 70's...). Today's forecast is 66°/43° cloudy with possible rain showers overnight.

Hope all goes well with your dr appointment Wally. I see my pcp tomorrow and may well be adding a Cardiologist to my collection of drs too. sigh.....

121 this cold cloudy morning. Dusting of new snow on the mountaintops around me.

Yesterday's high was 60° here. Today's forecast is 55°/45° with chance os showers. One more day with possible showers and then sun again.

My printer is listed as Out for Delivery today!! Yay! A new toy... hope I can figure it out. It is coming USPS so won't get here until late afternoon so I will be back from dr by then. Crossing my fingers set up is easy... didn't realize how much I have missed a printer now that one is on the way!

109 this morning.  We had a high of 90° yesterday and it is supposed to be a couple of degrees cooler today.  Wow, it is really getting cold there Barbra.  I am happy that it is down to 90° here and it should be a while before it gets anywhere near that.
The appointment with my cardiologist went well but I was surprised when he wants me to start taking Jardiance and gave me samples for a month to make sure I didn't have any problem with it.  Because of the advertising I have seen I always thought Jardiance was just a drug for glucose control.  It turns out that is a secondary use but it's primary use is "to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization for adults with type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease"  Well, that sounds like me as my stay in the hospital last year was due to heart failure so if this prevents that I believe it is good.  It can be used for glycemic control but at a higher dose.  I am at 10 mg once a day and for glycemic control the dose is at 25 mg.  I am going to take it for a month to make sure that I tolerate it well then he will decide if he will keep it going.
After I got home I made another attempt to get my Windows desktop working and I had success.  I had to do a Windows restore that did a complete new installation of windows so no installed programs were kept.  it worked and I have been reinstalling programs to get back to where I was.  I am really unhappy that my backup program didn't work as I run a backup every week and they were all there on an external drive but the program said that they were all corrupt and would not do anything.  I have been using Acronis for backup for years so that really bumbed me out.  Anyway I have my desktop back and I do really like my little Macbook I don't like for it to be my daily computer.  I have dual monitors, one 32 inch and one 27 inch and have both on my desk and really like this setup.  I am also a lot more used to using Windows so it is easier.  In a way it is probably a good thing as it starts out with a clean install of Windows and gets rid of a lot of junk.

You shouldn't have any problem setting it up.  You probably will need to go to the Epson website and download the install program for Mac. I did that for my Macbook and it works just fine.

Thanks Wally, will post when I get it done. Hopefully this evening!

ETA: Interesting about Jardiance. Their TV ad drives me nuts but if it is good for the heart, more power to it!

Yeah their ad drives me nuts also but it must be successful in getting patients to insist that their doctors give them a prescription for it.  The ads are not targeting doctors but the patients that want a pill to handle all of their problems.  No one is going to pay attention to the part where they say "along with diet and exercise".  I am not sure that it is so much good for the heart, at least for most people, but it is targeted at people that have t2 diabetes and heart disease.  My stay in the hospital last year was at first diagnosed as kidney failure but that corrected itself the next day and it turns out that it was heart failure.  This is supposed to help prevent that from happening again but it needs to be watched as it can be hard on the kidneys.  The preventing heart failure part is why I am getting the Rx from my cardiologist but the company is looking at how many more people will get it if it I used for diabetes, KACHING!

Just back from pcp...

BP fine going back to original dose of 50mg

Got a steroid shot in rt knee and it feels. better already, though that may still br the numbing agent, She said a couple of days will tell the tale.

Re the murmur, she said they were aware of it and there is a bit of stenosis they are aware of from echo one year ago. Nothing "that" serious at this point and I already have an appointment on the books for one next year. So other dr just alarmed me for no good reason.

So all is really well in the medical department... phew!

Thanks! Now I am wondering about an rx she wrote for me for Meloxicam which is for arthritis. She thought it might be better than the Advil I have been taking at night. It is a NASID but in checking it out there could be liver/kidney issues with it and having diabetes might be a problem. Going to call my Gastro tomorrow and see what he says about it.

See Chit Chat for printer...argggghhhh!

121 this cloudy. drizzly morning. Better than expected due to steroid shot. But it takes a bit to settle in.

Yesterday's high was 60°, today's forecast is 55°/40° with clouds and a bit of rain in the morning. A good day. to stay in and fiddle with printer...

87 this morning.  We had a high of 87° yesterday so it has gotten cooler and will probably be around that for a while.  Today is the Autumnal Equinox for the Northern Hemisphere so the first day of Fall.  Here it will be cooler but really pretty nice before it turns cold.
Glad things turned out well at your appointment.  I had a prescription for Meloxicam once but I don't think I used it for very long.  It was when I first had the sciatica and it didn't really do much good so I stopped it.  If it helps you then good.
