104 this morning.  We had a high of 92° yesterday and the same is predicted for today then starting tomorrow we should see a pretty big drop in the temperature and Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be in the low 70s!
That is a bummer Barbara.  I hate it when the internet drops out.  Funny to wonder what we did before there was an internet but we have become dependent on it.  Hope it comes back soon.

Quick evening check-in. Still no internet and no time that it will be back.System maintenance is what they say. Need to call phone service and see about adding more data/changing service. At&T trouble is finding an actual phone #!

I play Solitaire on my phone when I travel. Keeps me busy and my mind from going places I don't want it to.

105 this morning. We had a high of 93° yesterday and should be close to that today then a big 20° drop tomorrow and Sunday then a bit warmer next week and we should be in the low 80s.
I have Consumer Cellular and I rarely use much data with my phone but if I go over what my plan has it automatically just bumps me up to the next level and it is not that expensive.  Consumer Cellular uses AT&T cell towers so the same coverage and is a lot cheaper than any of the three major providers.
Hope your internet comes back soon Barbara.  That seems like a long time to be out for maintenance.

116 this cloudy morning.

61° was the high yesterday today's forecast is 53°/45° with possible scattered showers starting in afternoon and over the next few days.

ARGHHHHHHH!!! Century Link finally ghave me a possible date for service...Oct 3 at 10PM!! *!! That does it for them! I signed up with Hughes Net yesterday afternoon and they will call with install date, even if it is after the 3rd I;ll take it!

Hughes says lots of Century Linbk customers are switching. CL is trying to install better cables and is apparently trying to weed out huge sections of service. Go fugure...maybe they are in financial trouble...who know but I am out of there!!

Eating data, but that is life.... soon it will be back to normal.

Going to post a quick Amazon order then offline for the day.

97 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 88° and it is supposed to be a chilly, for here, 72° today.  It is supposed to be the same tomorrow then warming up a bit and be in the 80s next week.
I don't blame you at all Barbara.  The length of time you have been without internet is just awful.  I had Hughes when I was on the mountain as it was the only option I had then.  It wasn't as good as the cable connection I had when I moved to town and not even close to the fiber connection I have now but it did provide me with an internet connection and was mostly good most of the time.  One thing I was impressed with was that if there was ever a problem with my equipment they got a technician out fairly quickly and took care of it.  One downside was that when it snowed I had to go out and use a long handle squeegee to scrape the snow off of the dish.  My dish was on a pole in the yard so it wasn't too hard but if it was on the roof it would have been quite hard.  All in all though it was a decent solution for where I was.  My brother lives in Seattle Washington and had Century Link when he first moved there and hated it there also and was able to change.

Thanks Wally!

Yeah I guess every service has its problems...but this is just totally unacceptable what CL is doing. I'll give Hughes the benefit of the doubt for now.

I am eating data already gone through months supply of 600MB will take the extra AT&T charges this time but when I am  boack online, I'm switching to Cellular (Mobile?).

If you are considering Consumer Cellular here is a picture of their plans.  If you had the $20 plan with a 1GB data/month limit and went over they would just bump you up to the next level at 5GB/month for an added $5 so not really bad at all.  I have been with them for over 5 years and have been quite happy with the service and any time I have had a question and called customer service they have been very nice and helpful.  The plans shown do not include the taxes etc. so I have the $20  plan but my monthly total is $23.75 with a $1.00 AARP discount.

114 this. cloudy morning.

Yesterday's high was 50° with light showers periodically. Today's forecast is 55°/43° again with. some showers.

skb you are so lucky to have such good service, sadly I don't think I could take the heat and crowds there though.

Yes Wally that is the one I was thinking of! Couldn't remember the name at the moment. That is so much better than what I am getting with AT&T. I'm dumping them too once I get the internet squared away. Playing phone tag with the installer, can't seem to connect. What is one more frustration at this point?? I will be so happy when things get back to normal.

Already in 2 days burned through my whopping free 600MB that is crazy! May check in tonight otherwise tomorrow morning.

101 this morning.  We only got to 73° yesterday and it is supposed to be 70° today then warming up starting tomorrow and we should be in the mid to high 80s next week.
Yeah I have been quite happy with Consumer Cellular and am not sad that I am not paying the high fees from any of the "big 3".
The installers for Hughes are private contractors so it depends on what is available where you live.  I was really fortunate and had real good luck with the installers around here.  I hope you are able to get in touch with the one you are going to have.  I wasn't kidding when I was talking about snow on the dish, it is a real problem that I had to deal with but not too bad because the dish was on a pole that was reachable. We had the pole up already  and it had an unobstructed view to the South so it was ideal and the installer dropped off the cable long enough to get to the house and we ran it underground so all he had to do was mount the dish and set it up and then install the modem and the cable was there already.  They like to put the dish on the roof because it is usually the best place to avoid interference but it can be a problem to reach.  Just something you may want to talk to the installer about.
It just dawned on me that there is a difference between our locations and your dish may be at a steeper angle and not as susceptible to the snow building up as mine so it may not be a problem for you.  I am sure your installer will know.

123 this cloud morning.

Yesterday's high was 51° with a few showers. Today's forecast is 60°/46° with clouds.

Yesterday Century Link messaged me in the morning service would be back 10/2 garbled time. then in afternoon new message it would be back 10/10 6:35PM. Yeah right!

Highes installer comes tomorrow between 11-2. My dish satellite is on a pole in the side yard, just at the right height I can brush the snow off. Hughes said they could probably install right next to it. Don't know how cats will deal, but I will be so HAPPY to have internet back! Then it is on to changing phone service... this data w/AT&T is crazy!

Maybe with new internet I will be able to download upgrade? Wouldn't that be nice?
