It took all day but I am finally upgraded to Sonoma 14.0!! Yippee! Later I am going to try the printer again.

Wally, how do you find out about these system upgrades? I don't want to go through this again! Thanks

Since you downloaded the software for the OS you had at the time you should probably go back to the Epson website and download the software for Mac OS 14.  You should probably download all but the drivers is what you need to make the printer operational from your mac.  You can download the others later.
I forgot the link:

https://epson.com/Support/Printers/All-In-Ones/ET-Series/Epson-ET-2400/s/SPT_C11CJ67201?review-filter=macOS+14.x

I find out about the upgrades usually first from a couple of the Youtube experts I check on regularly but I also get a notification from my mac.  I don't remember what I did to make that happen so I will check that out.  I always do updates and upgrades as soon as they come out because I want to stay up to date but also because they usually have security fixes for known problems.

Thanks Wally! I'll tackle that tomorrow. So I should just download Utilities and Firmware and not the Drivers?

That looks very good skb! $7.20/mo for all that, wow!

117 this still dark morning. That is one of the things I dislike about Fall/Winter, it is dark so much longer in AM and earlier in PM.

I wait until it begins to get light outside to feed the kitties, I'm sorry cats, but I'm not feeding you in the dark...LOL.  It is still earlier than they eat in Summer but I don't want them to get on too early a schedule.

I have an aluminum storage shed than I haven't been in for years that I may turn into a cat retreat (cat house sounds kind of kinky). I was talking to my friend from the TNR yesterday and we were looking at it and it could work. Thing is it will require major clean out/up before it is cat ready. Maybe a Spring project...

Later today will tackle the printer again...

TNR lady, Colleen, says I should use my new internet for TV too and get streaming services etc and save some money on Dish service. I don't know, I don't watch movies or play games, and it sounds like a bunch of moving parts I would have to deal with. Dish has served me well, may be $25-$50 more than her set up, but it is easy and that is more important for me at this point. Will look at the info she sent me, but don't think it is worth it...

Taking some time to get used to Sonoma and look at the new apps added and changes to how some things work, just glad at this point it is installed and seems to be working fine.

Next will be a trip up to town to Target to switch to Consumer Cellular. Want to deal person to person rather than online for the switch, just in case of any issues.

108 this morning.  We had a high of 91° yesterday and now it is supposed to be 94° for the next few days through the weekend then cooling a bit and be in the mid 80s next week.  It is still warm enough that there are no leaves turning color here and that will probably be a while yet.
No Barbara, you should download and install everything but because it may take a while to download everything you can start with the drivers to get the printer working then download the rest later.  You can download it all at the same time if you want.
Yeah if you have that option to go to Target and do it in person with someone that is great.  I don't have anywhere nearby that has that available but doing it on line was pretty easy.
Here is a Youtube channel that I get a lot of information about using the Mac OS software.

OK, got it, I misunderstood what you said before. I am really starting to feel like a total dummy when it comes to all this techie stuff! Do I have to remove the other drivers/utilities/firmware I already installed or will new OS write over them?

Thanks for that link too! I looked at a bit of it and looks very helpful and will explore others too.

Have you installed Sonoma yet? I see Apple TV link in bottom bar which I will remove to Launchpad as I don't have A-TV. So much to learn, but I think it will be fun exploring. Still want to get printer working first.

Going to run my errands and then dive in to all this stuff!!   ~ cat ~

Yeah I installed Sonoma as soon as it came out.  I do upgrades as soon as I find out about them being available.  One thing about Apple is that normally the upgrades to a newer OS version have been pretty thoroughly tested by Beta testers and have had all of the problems worked out.  Beta testers are just people that are willing to opt in to Beta testing and are willing to install the beta versions and use them knowing that there will be problems but are going to try using it and reporting any issues to Apple so they can refine the version that is finally put out to the general public.

111 this chilly morning.

Mid 60° yesterday, missed exact reading. Wunderground says it was 66° but I think a bit lower here. Today's forecast is 74°/40°.  Nice weather ,supposedly warming a bit until Tues/Wed. It will be nice to see the sun!

Think I'm going to let the printer go for today and get to know this new OS better.  And of course try for the last few kittens...

Also a little Amazon retail therapy!!

Time to go feed the hungry hoards!!  It is all of 32° outside right now!

ETA: I found the most interesting thing at the grocery store yesterday. Kiwi buds! They look like an elongated green grape, smooth skin, you just eat the whole thing, though the stem tip and the blossom end are a bit tough, so I cut them off.  Very sweet, probably bad for bg but one or two in my yogurt probably won't hurt much. They are soft inside much like a grape but with a bunch of those tiny black seeds but they are soft to. Yum for a special treat!

89 this morning.  We got to 94° yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today and tomorrow then next week cooling all the way down to the mid 80s, LOL.  I can't complain, it is really nice right now and although not really feeling like Fall it is OK with me.  I don't think we will see 32° for quite a while.

144 this chilly morning.

I only saw a 62° yesterday though one site says it was 71° kind of doubt that. Today's forecast is 78°/40°. Hope it does get that high.

Woke up to find my jaw was swollen and a bit achey. Guess I may have an abscess/infection, sigh. Will have to call a dentist tomorrow. Boo! No wonder my numbers were high last night and this morning! Dang!

Well it is light enough now to go feed the hungry kitties!  31° outside and a thin layer of ice over their water dishes...

106 this morning.  We got to 94° again yesterday and it is supposed to be the same today.  We are going to be cooling down a bit next week but still in the 80s so not hot but still warm.
Gee I hope you are able to get over that quickly.  It is not fun but hopefully not too bad.

122 this chilly morning.

68° was the high yesterday. It was sunny but not hot. Today's forecast is 79°/47° with a chance of some showers overnight. Some rain is in the forecast starting tomorrow and for a few days.

I really need to find a new dentist! Tooth feels better today and swelling down but it needs to be checked out. Since dentist retired I have been too lax finding a new one. Now is the time.

Sheesh these kitties are really hungry in the morning! Minute I turn on the light they are climbing the screen! 33° this morning when I went out to feed them. brrrr

105 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 94° and it is going to be close to that today then cooling down a bit starting tomorrow and should be in the mid to low 80s for the rest of the week.  Still a pretty warm Fall here so far but not complaining.  Overnight lows around 58° so not going to dee leaves turning for a while and the roses in the front yard are blooming
There is rain in the Pacific North West, Washington and Oregon and it is going to move East so probably the rain you will be seeing Barbara.
I have been seeing the same dentist for the last 10 years or so and if she retires I am not sure where I would go.  There are other dentist in town but I need to find one that takes my insurance.  I don't think I have to worry about that for a while though.

Unfortunately I don't have dental insurance. My late DH decided a Cadillac medical plan was of more value than optical or dental coverage. So I pay out of pocket for those, thankfully Medicare covers my eye exams being diabetic, but I'm on my own for dental. I think I need to call my ins. and see if I can pay for a dental plan with them...it will cost, but if it helps, it will be worth it!

Dang, I went out to make another shelter out of a big Chewy box and got a bloody nose! I thought those were a thing of the past! Maybe the cold brought it on... sigh.
