I don't have the Salonpas cream, but I have a bunch of patches, some even extra strength. I bet I could cut them and wrap around my thumb.  Thanks for reminding me!

Great idea Wally! I wrapped a small Salonpas patch around my thumb. Then I cut the fingertips off one of those small knit gloves and it holds the patch in place perfectly! It helps my thumb and I can still type just fine.

What I know about this drug is that it accumulates in the intestines (at least the oral versions). This has been given to cattle for pain relief in a big way. In the first place the pain is induced because of Growth Hormone injections given to them to get more milk. Upon their death they are left to rot in some barren places and then the vultures feed upon them. This has caused the extinction of the vulture in India.

Yikes! That sounds terrible! It killed off the vultures?? Another good reason not to put it on my body! I realize that is a different form, but still...

From what the package of OTC Voltaren (diclofenac) states, it can cause liver damage, WebMd says this also. I'm sure it is in much greater amounts than a person would spread on their body that could cause the damage. But my liver is already compromised so I choose not to take any chances when I can get by with other options until I can get the steroid shots.

115 this foggy morning.

Yesterday's high was 26° with freezing fog most of the day. I don't know who was smoking what to forecast a 40° temp yesterday, but they are at it again today. Not sure if I believe that it will even be the 36°/24° predicted for today. Other sits have it at 42° for high...sigh.

The fog was so weird, it was freezing and was almost like a light snow falling. The flakes were larger and very light looking. It never cleared at all. I'd sure like to see the weather be more like they are predicting!

Refreshed all the shelters with clean dry straw. My friend is still working on the additional 12 coolers. I'll be glad to have them, and I think the kitties will too!

91 this morning.  We had a high of 69° yesterday and an overnight low of 37° so even warmer than predicted.  The chance of rain here looks better for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  I am hoping that it does get some moisture here.
Glad the patch worked Barbara.  It was just an idea I had.

117 this foggy morning. Freezing fog is strange...

Yesterday's high was 31° with some sun in the afternoon. Just can't seem to get to forecast #. Today's forecast is 35°/28° again mostly cloudy. They keep saying sunny days coming, but so far nada.

Today's only chores are garbage to the road and tidying up the decks. Maybe move a couple more coolers to the side yard.

The kitties must have liked them as usually in the evening I hear them thumping around in the boxes in the front door alcove but last night it was all quiet there. Still some pressure for me to get all the unfixed kittens now and to fix the shed now... with my hands the way they are, I'm not sure I should be pushing it.The gal said she would come over and help but I will believe it when she makes definite plans...

At least for now they have nice shelters. I'll post a pix when it gets light enough and clear enough.

108 this morning.  We had a high of 63° yesterday and it is probably going to be the same today but cloudy.  Rain is about a 50/50 chance starting Wednesday through Friday but it probably won't be a very big event if at all.

133 this morning. Hand really hurting this morning, need to put on patch after I feed the kitties.

Another 31° here yesterday with. some sun in the afternoon. If it is to be believed, today's forecast is 42°/30°. I'll believe it when I see it!

I still have some cleaning up to do on porches, but here are some of the coolers out front. Silly cats like to push some of the straw out of the boxes making a huge. mess, but if it keeps them warmer, I'll deal.

92 this morning.  We had a high of 70° yesterday and an overnight low of 53° so the cloud cover kept the heat in.  There was just a little drizzle yesterday that didn't amount to anything and not expecting anything today but still may get some real rain starting late tomorrow.

A surprising 38° yesterday with some sun even! Today's forecast is 40°/29°, partly cloudy. I'll believe that temp. when I see it!

Planning a quiet day.

No posts from skb last night. I hope things are OK with him. He is always in my thoughts as he is taking care of his mother. Sending good thoughts his way.

103 this morning.  Our high yesterday was 64° and it should be the same today.  They are getting some rain on the coastal side of the mountains and heavy in some areas but we are not going to see it here today but it may get here tonight and tomorrow.  Hoping to get something.

Yes all well here. My mother is doing pretty well after all her medication was stopped. She is stable as of now.

That Kitty hotel is something. Maybe cardboard would be a better option than straw. Just a thought.
